I got Spot to come in as poles-000spo in 1919. Let me know if it's a particular year or a case where the ID has been updated to "poles-000spo" which is the BBR one (not one of Chuck's old ones).
Fortunately, just one "riggin000bil" in the db. His given name is "Arvell Riggins" but that doesn't bring up a duplicate record. Don't see an Orville. Send me the other ID if you have it and I'll poke at it again

OK, so that's the issue with Spot - 1919 is the wrong year, see SH screenshot. I think this must have been entered into the DB incorrectly for 24 because 1909 worked in all version prior to it. ![]() Actually bud, ignore that. I think I know what is happening. I'm going off a v24 MiLB DB that I have to assume has been updated since I copied it. I now see Spot in there as poles-000spo with the debut year 1910, which is correct. The earlier iteration of the 24 DB had him with the 049 ID and 1909. Here are the dupe entries in the MiLB DB for our mate Mr Riggins (I've cut a few columns out to make it more manageable): ![]() Hope this helps. G

Orville was de-duped already (hence I couldn't find him), With that Player ID #, I did find the retired record and can confirm he's gone for going-forward updates/game releases.
For Spot, he had 1909 stats but an MiLB debut of 1910 instead of 1909. That will be fixed going forward. 1910 is the earliest, you'll be able to get him imported though until an update/new edition. He's only 19 then, so plenty of years ahead for him coming in then though! Oh, and when I chose 1919, I was just testing his import code. I knew he was one of the few that missed time because of World War I, so knew 1919 was a safe year to pick. So, 1909 was a problem, but it wasn't a 1919 fat finger error of 1909.

Not sure if this is a database issue or a bug, but Rogers Hornsby isn't being credited with leading the NL in hits in 1920 or 1921--instead, Eddie Collins [1920] and Jack Tobin [1921] (both of whom came in 2nd in the AL and 2nd in the majors) get that red highlight.
Looking at the MLB statistics page and selecting 1920, George Sisler (St Louis Browns, AL) is correctly listed as leading the majors in hits, but when I select AL, all his stats disappear from the leaderboards (and he's not showing up under NL, either). Yet his career stats give him 'red ink' for hits in 1920. I started looking into this because a LOT of players' HOF metrics are off. (And these are players who were already retired when I started these saves.) EDIT: I'd been starting a New Standard Game. I just started a New Historical Game (most recent season) and the leaderboard credits seem to be correct now--Hornsby gets his hits title back, and Sisler is there under AL (with an Oriole cap now--before he'd had a Braves cap, which was the last team he played for in his career). So it looks like it's only an issue with New Standard Game somehow??? Last edited by textilemonster; 07-03-2024 at 11:06 PM. |
