I have a team like this. At or near the top in hitting, at or near the bottom in pitching. I have a full staff of pitchers, all historical diamonds, and I'm not doing anything funny with pitch counts. I like the fact that it oscillates weekly between gold and diamond. I am trying to see how strong I can make the lineup without a prayer of hanging in diamond more than 1 week.

Nothing wrong with that. As long as you at least have a full team then do what you want.

I agree that a cap on PP per season seems like the best solution. No one makes more than 50K without some funny business. Taking away PP seems awful.

I played it straight, no pitch counts.

But my point was if you just eyeballed my roster and looked at the overalls, you would see blue and black in the hitters and grey (and a little bronze) in the pitchers.

Most people just look at the roster page and draw conclusions based on OVR ratings. They rarely go and look at strategy settings or deep dive into box scores.
