Dan Hurt has picked up a minor injury with the diagnosis being neck stiffness which will make him day to day for 4 days.

In-Su Chu doesn't seem to have been hurt by the enforced Korean League break. He came roaring back to hit 5 in the Kt Wiz game against the Nexen Heroes. This has kept his hitting streak alive as well.

Sadly In-Su Chu could not keep the streak alive any longer as he failed in yesterdays game to find a hit. The streak ended at 28 games with a hit.

It was always on the cards after his 2 hitting streaks but very few thought he would make it. In-Su Chu yesterday broke the Korean League record for hits in a single season. Number 216 was the magic one that broke Dae-young Yoon's record that had stood for only 1 season.

After In-Su Chu broke the league single season hitting record the Kt Wiz were very keen on signing him up for a longer period. We held long discussions that went into the night but we finally agreed for him to sign on the dotted line. He will stay with the Kt Wiz for another 2 years on a contract worth $890,000 in 2022 and $1,340,000 in 2023.

This is good news for him as he knows his worth but also leaves options open for both the player and the team in the future.

We have reached the point of no return for many teams with the play off spots all but sorted. Most of our players are just finishing up their seasons with very little chance of a play off spot.

In-Su Chu is one player that will be seeing some post season playing time. His Kt Wiz have won the Korean League pennant and he was a big part of it. With 3 games to go they lead by 7. The month of September was another major month for Chu as he went and hit for .418 over the 23 games played. He also had 2 home runs, 21 RBI's and 28 runs scored.

Juan Campos should also be getting some post season playing time. The Hanshin Tigers have clinched at least a wild card spot but are in a mighty tussle for the pennant as they lead by 1 with 3 games to go. Campos himself has helped to the tune of 21 hits at .244 for the month of September. He scored 8 runs with 7 RBI's and 2 home runs.

The third of our players that may get play off action is Nishikiri Shoda. His Saitama Seibu Lions top the Japanese Pacific League table but he is not guaranteed a spot on their play off roster. September saw him spend the whole month with the big club and he started 20 games but he hit for only a .197 average. He had 2 Home runs, 8 RBI's and 8 runs scored.

Shiroma Hisato has an outside chance that he will make the play offs in Japan but his Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles side currently sit 4th in the Pacific League with only a long shot at a wild card berth. His September month saw him pitch 5 games with a 3-2 record. He had an ERA of 5.01

1st October 2021 part 2

Our players in the Major League are mainly with lowly teams that have no chance of a play off spot.

Billy Edwards is the only one that may get to be in the play offs. His Houston Astros have clinched the AL West division but he is still not guaranteed a spot in the play off roster. His month of September saw him play in 20 games, all of them as starter. He tried his best to make it impossible for the Astros to drop him as he hit for an average of .324, his best of the year. He had 5 RBI's and 9 runs scored.

Kelford Clark will definitely not be in the play-offs as the Detroit Tigers sit bottom of the Al Central table. His month of September saw him pitch in 10 games with a 2-1 record and 3 saves to bring his tally for the year to 25. His ERA for the month was 1.69.

Dan Hurt is another not going to the play offs. The Philadelphia Phillies have struggled all year even with Dan on their team. The month of September saw Dan have a few issues as he only hit for an average of .263. That was his worst all year. He had 1 home run, 9 RBI's and 17 runs scored.

Gabriel Eskola only played 6 games in September as the Richmond Flying Squirrels failed to make the play offs. His average over those 6 games was .250.

Bart Snyder played 6 games for the Birmingham Barons and did not embarrass himself with a .222 average. He had 5 RBI's and 4 runs scored.

Luis Elizondo also only played 6 games in September for the Biloxi Shuckers but was hot over those 6 games hitting for an average of .462. He had 10 runs, 4 RBI's and 2 home runs.

The Korean Leagues has now finished it's regular season.

In-Su Chu was heralded by all those that saw him as he racked up a .416 batting average over the season. This saw him win the batting crown in the Korean League.

In-Su Chu has bought his regular season form into the play offs as yesterdays high scoring game between the Kt Wiz and Nexen Heroes saw him go wild.

He had 6 hits, 4 of them doubles. He bought home 3 and scored another 4 runs himself.

It turns out there was no glittering gold at the end of the campaign for In-Su Chu as his Kt Wiz side fell 1 game short in the Korean Play Offs. They lost the final 4 games to 3.

He himself had an excellent series going 15-30 but it was not enough for his team to win the title.

It came down to the final to see which of our players in the Japanese Play offs would get the glittering ring and be able to call themselves a champion.

In the end it was Nishikiri Shoda who is wearing the ring as his Saitama Seibu Lions defeated Juan Campos's Hanshin Tigers 4 games to 3 in the final.
