Please hire Joe Girardi. This organization needs some fresh ideas from a new perspective. We also need a proven MLB-level manager, not another rookie.

DeWitt says they need a "fresh start"... how does promoting the bench coach get you a fresh start or new ideas?

What about Oquendo? I think he would relate to the players more than Girardi.

Sim most but do play/watch games here and there. During the playoffs I do take over the substitutions.

I'm thinking of starting a MLB game, but trying to decide if I want to play out most of the games or sim day by day and play out important games

I would like to see the Mariners fire Servais (after they drop into third place) and hire Girardi! Servais is a horrible in game manager.

Do you guys "modify" any players to match more closely with the current season "stats" as the year goes along? I want to do that and am curious if you do it, how?
Thanks!

I don't, I am playing in challenge mode, so I cant do it anyways, but even in non-challenge games I don't edit players

Even when a young player (rookie) has a much better season than projected?

I don't think Oquendo really wants to manage now. I might be wrong about that.

By the way, I have always admired the Cardinals organization since I was a kid. They do "things" the right way and pretty much always have!

I play out every inning of every game. I prefer to play this way because it gets me closer to my team. I let the minor league managers control lineups, but I control everything else.

However, I usually have one league where I sim everything a week at a time. In that league, I let the manager make all of the decisions regarding pitching assignments, lineups, and depth charts. I do that in order to have one league where the offseason rolls around often.

Never. I always treat the ratings as what I rolled and just go with it. After the first year it doesn't matter too much anyway.

Do you currently have a MLB game going?

Yes. I posted this update a month ago. I am now at game #150 and I will be posting another update at the end of the regular season, probably early next week.

I was traveling for 10 days last month, so I played 60 games in 20 days or so. Three games per day sounds about right for me.

I think they will stick with Mike Shildt the rest of the season.
