Its always a lot of fun doing the All-Star Game every year.
I did not manage this game as I let the AI handle the functions.
The NL gets a walk off 2-RBI double by LAD Corey Seager in the 9th to win the Midsummer Classic.

For the AL:
SEA Jean Segura and DET Jose Abreu hit the long ball tonight.
CHW Yoan Moncada did get a big RBI double in the 9th to put the AL ahead.
NYY Tommy Kahnle took the loss and a blown save.
Twice the AL took the lead but could not hold it.

For the NL:
PIT Felipe Rivero took the win.
NYM Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton went deep @ Nationals Park.
Four Mets pitchers were used in this game with Ken Giles giving up the only run.

I look forward to next year's All-Star Game from Progressive Field in Cleveland.

Series Preview: NY Yankees @ Yankee Stadium (3-Games)

A nice way to start the 2nd half of the season.
A weekend series versus the Yankees.
They are also foundering as the Mets took their best players in the Forced Trades at the start of the year.
Neil Walker and Sonny Gray are the guys they have left on that weakened team.
Syndergaard, Kershaw and Strasburg get the call for this series.

I pretty much thought that the Yankees were going to pull this one out after tying this game in the 9th. (AI CHEATS!)
But, thanks to Bryce Harper, who hits a big go-ahead HR in the 10th inning, his 27th of the year, we still get the win.
Noah Syndergaard went 5 and gave up 1 run on 4 hits.
The bullpen was used extensively, but it was Luis Severino who got the win, even though he did blow the save.
Aaron Judge hit his 21st HR of the season as well.
Tough game!

We used a lot of the bullpen in the last game, but thanks to 8 innings of work by Clayton Kershaw, the bullpen gets some rest.
Kershaw gives up 2 runs on 5 hits.
Mike Trout and Nolan Arenado had two hits today in the win.
Trout hit his 28th HR of the year.
With the win, we take the series over the NYY and now look for the sweep over our Bronx rivals tomorrow.

The Mets destroy the Yankees via bases on balls.
Stephen Strasburg did bend in this game but didn't break as he went 6 and gave up 4 runs on 8 hits.
The Yankees had major control problems as they issued 15 free passes.
The Mets needed only 9 hits to score 13 runs.
HRs Today: Carlos Correa (11), Bryce Harper (28), Gary Sanchez (11), Jose Altuve (14) and Buster Posey (14)
They went deep today with Altuve and Correa getting 2 hits each.
It feels good to embarrass the evil Galactic Empire from the Bronx and to sweep a series from them is even better!

A very nice way to start the 2nd half of the season with a sweep of the NYY.
We are also 13-3 for July.
The Trading Deadline is fast approaching and a few players might be going places as I get this team ready for the Postseason.
But there might be some injuries along the way coming up also as the 2018 season begins to place some wear and tear on the players.
Lets keep it going!

ALE: The Red Sox still hold a good clamp on this division with the Blue Jays starting to fade.
ALC: MIN and CLE staying very tight with each other.
ALW: Can this division get any better? TEX, LAA, HOU and OAK staying within 2 games of each other.
NLE: Its all about the NY METS baby!
NLC: Its all bout the CHI Cubs here.
NLW: SD, LAD and ARZ making a very tight race here.

Series Preview: SD Padres @ Citi Field (3-Games)

We have a HUGE series with the upstart Padres in the Big Apple.
I still have not figured out how SD is still leading the AL West, but I am sure that this team would like to show us.
Manny Margot is the only guy batting over .275 for the Padres, while Dinelson Lamet and Bryan Mitchell are the aces of the staff.
Sale, Kluber and Syndergaard get the starts for this amazing series against a team that at the start of the season, NO ONE felt had a chance for ANYTHING!
