Starting out at 9-8 for April is not too shabby.
It is early but the Browns have a good lineup and some good starting pitching. Lets see where this goes. Quick trade Note: Lew Drill for Boss Schmidt. Something tells me i need a catcher who can hit. Drill wasnt doing it early and the White Sox felt a catcher for catcher trade wouldnt hurt.

May 1907
Ed Smith picked up the ROTM award.
Pretty interesting because i brought him up from Norfolk to replace the injured Stan Yerkes. Yerkes comes back in a week. I have a decision to make. We went 14-14 to stay 1 game above .500 for the month of May and i can see that this team wants to win ballgames. Thats nice.

June 1907
The June pitcher award went to Cy Falkenburg.
He got off to a slow start, but now, he is pitching his butt off. What a month we had. 22-5!! That puts us .5 game out of first trailing the Boston Americans. I wonder what the difference was between this team and the team i just left. I hope we keep it up, because i want the playoffs very badly. After 5 dead seasons in NYG land, im hoping that the SLB goes a lot better.

July 1907
Well..we came back to earth in July, but still posted a 15-12 record!
The St. Louis Browns are now in 1st place in the AL leading the Boston Americans by 2.5 games. Still two months to go in the season and i know how quickly things can turn. Roy Patterson will be back in 1 week and i think that our pitching will be back to normal although Lew Moren did a fine job since being called up from the Tides. The best stat for us this year...22-7 in one-run games...which means we win the close ones. Best lineup and best rotation in baseball. Lets keep it going and make the playoffs in my first year as GM of this team!

August 1907
Normally i would be a little apprehensive about a .500 month.
But 12-12 for August i will take. 2 GB of the league lead, so we still have a chance to avoid a division series. But just getting into the playoffs would be a great thing for this team. Pretty much a shoe in. Can we clinch first place? Will the Boston Americans collapse? Wiil i put A-1 sauce on my steak tonight? (To Be Continued...)

For the months of September and October, we went 19-13.
But the season was not over yet. We had to play a positional playoff game to see who would clinch 1st place in the AL and avoid a division series. The Boston Americans were the opponent and what a game it was. With Roy Patterson on the mound i felt good about our chances. We took an early 2-0 lead after 5 innings, but then BSA scored 3 in the 7th to take the lead. We tied it in the 9th and went into extras. I thought we had won after we scratched 3 runs in the 10th, but the Americans came right back with 3 of their own in the bottom of the inning. It was close, but we grabbed 4 runs in the 13th and this time we closed the deal. The St. Louis Browns finish in 1st place and we will await the winner of the Boston-New York series. We made the Playoffs!!! Which gives me an extra year with this team. Unfortunately, we took key injuries to Sherry Magee and Larry Doyle. They will miss the playoffs! But, we will do the best we can! On to the American League Championship Series! Oh yeah...the New York Giants in the National League made the playoffs in the first year of my leaving them. Hope they get swept by the Reds!

1907 Playoffs Preview
The American League Championship Series will feature my St. Louis Browns vs. the Boston Americans.
The BSA defeated the NYH 2-1 in the division series to advance to play us. If any of these games are like the positional playoff game we played...this series will go 5! We were 12-11 against Boston this year...so this is anyone's series. Two of my best players are out to due to injury, but i think we have the ability to pull this one out. It will be tough though. The Americans are sporting Nap Lajoie and Dummy Taylor. This team will come at us with bats swinging. Will we be ready to play this series? Who will step up to the plate for the Browns? Will it be 70 degrees in South Florida again tomorrow while the rest of the country is buried under 500 feet of snow? To Be Continued...

1907 American League Championship Series
Game 1
The first game didnt go so well. Boston's Fred Beebe pitched a monster game and kept my hitters in check. Tough outing for Cy Falkenberg who never really had anything on the mound. Never really truly got anything going offensively. BSA leads series 1-0

Game 2
The BSA are really making us pay for that Positional Playoff Game. They destroyed us in the 2nd game 9-1. Again, Boston pitching was masterful as George Mullin kept on getting out of jams in the early innings. Tom Hughes looked like a deer in headlights in this one, and 3 errors in the field didnt help either. I think the injuries to Magee and Doyle are really doing us in in this series. I lost my two best players and even though my bench is doing everything they can, the Americans really are a better team. On to Boston for game 3. BSA leads series 2-0

Game 3
Three up and three down. It never really was a series. The Browns scored three runs in three games. Just shows you how good Boston pitching was and that we never really made a push in this series. Again, Fred Beebe did the job for BSA as he struck out 12!! Roy Patterson pitched the best of the 3 starters in this series, but my lineup just couldnt get past the wall that Boston put up. We got beaten by the better team, no doubt. But the Browns are young and talented. We ended in 1st place in the AL and i think we have some more playoff runs in us. This allows me to manage this team to 1913 now as i have one playoff showing. Very proud of this team and i think 1908 will be fun to watch! Playoff results and awards forthcoming! BSA wins series 3-0

Playoffs 1907
The Boston Americans win the 2nd straight World Series Championship by defeating the Cincinnati Reds 4-2!
The Americans are the first to defend a world series championship and are the first to win back to back! The American League has won five straight world series and have won 6 of the first 7. Congrats to the Boston Americans...1907 Champions!

Awards 1907
Awards galore!
Erve Beck and Sherry Magee pick up a couple of Gold Gloves which makes me feel very proud. But, Sherry Magee does one better and grabs the American League MVP! There is great talent on this team, now i just have to supplement it. Congrats to the both of them.

I guess i will be staying in St. Louis for another year as i picked up my 1st Manager of the Year Award.
As always, when i accept an award like this, i tell everyone that without my players, there is no way this happens. They deserve ALL the accolades and awards. I just sat in the GM box and watched them put on a show.

1907 Draft
When you pick last in the draft, you have to take the best player that no else wanted.
I grabbed Larry Gardner, because 3B was my weakest in the starting lineup. I took Harley Young because he was the best reliever available at the time. Shoeless went to the Naps and Walter went to Detroit and Home Run went to Philadelphia. Although i really didnt need Dick Hoblitzell at 1B, im going to use him as trade bait.

1907 OffSeason
Although i really dont like to mess with team chemistry, i needed some more punch if i am going to replace the Boston Americans as AL Champs.
Dick Hoblitzell did what i wanted him to do. I drafted him to trade him and i got Tommy Leach. Great Pickup. Then, Rube Waddell was available and i sent Adam Storke to the CHW.

Pre Season 1908
MLB Change:
The Boston Americans decided that since they had a lot of players from different nationalities on their team, they wanted to change their name. One day, an unnamed Boston baseball player washed his white socks and he accidentally poured red ink into his washtub. When his laundry was finished, he said out loud, "WOW...i have a bunch of red socks hanging up on my laundry line." The owner of the Boston team heard about this and said, "Hmmm...the Boston Red Sox. Sounds cool...but it hope the White Sox dont mind." They didnt...so the Boston Americans transformed into the Boston Red Sox! The PP have us listed as 4th in the AL this year. We are going to do better than that! So everyone...lets say hello to... THE 1908 ST. LOUIS BROWNS!!! YEAR 2 OF 6
