Damien "Dago Red" Rosetto, A San Jose (Giants A)
![]() Gotta say this season was a success for Dago Red. Showed ability to hit for contact, improving defense, and got a decent number of at-bats. He really deserves a starting role, but maybe with this performance, he's played himself into one.

Deepak Khabra, SS A Ft. Myers (Minnesota A)
![]() Would've loved to see a better performance from Deepak this year. If one of the players "broke" during the make-or-break season, it was Deepak. He fell off dramatically from '15, was forced to ride the pine, and then demoted. 2017 is another year for Khabra, however, here's hoping he can turn things around.

SS Jeffery Lage, St. Lucie Mets
![]() At closer examination, Lage's season wasn't half bad. True, his stat line is reminiscent of Carlos Pena, but he didn't massively underachieve expectations. However, his skills seem to be eroding into nothingness, which isn't good for a player who wasn't a lock to end up on a major league roster. Hopefully 2017 brings Lage the starting role he deserves.

3B Mullet Hegstrand, AA Akron Aeros (Indians AA)
![]() In a sim where every player seems to be losing steam, Mullet is gaining ground quickly. He excelled at Carolina and did well during limited stays in Akron. Hegstrand should be ML-ready soon based solely on his power numbers.

Rusty Priske, A Lakewood (Phillies A)
![]() Priske passed the bullpen test with flying colors. He slumped a bit at the end of the year. He seems to have been rewarded in the skills department too, as that ++ fastball is deadly. The poet's breaking action is mightier than the sword. Expect a promotion to High-A for Priske, he's been tearing up competition and looks ready for the challenge.

SP Eric Montross, A Visalia Rawhide (Arizona A)
![]() Well, the Montross lives to fight another day, with a solid showing in A Visalia. The control will be his biggest hurdle. Maybe Eric should order some specs from Rick Vaughn.

SP Scott Fields, San Jose (San Francisco A)
![]() Strawberry was, well, solid during the second half of his High A campaign. I think he'll put this season behind him. Fields has an outside chance at cracking the top 100 prospects next season, probably the best of the remaining players. I'll keep the crowd posted.

Most teams operate with scouting set to "normal" so it's difficult to gauge talent, hence the players drafter later get "rushed" and tend to lump a bit. This adds a lot more variability to the game -- it's sort of like real baseball.. I think Rusty, along with most guys, will make the majors -- albeit I don't see him playing a real "star" role. It's really difficult to gauge his talent as the Poet adjusts to being a reliever -- it wouldn't surprise me if he has two + pitches, but his third lumps, and he ends up a + bullpen arm.

My best guess as of right now:
SS Hawk and C Davis will be franchise-caliber players and make a couple all-star teams SP/MR Strawberry Fields, 1B Cameron and 3B Hegstrand will have above average careers lasting 5+ years RF Bums, SP Caufield and MR Priske will play in the show for 5+ years and play around replacement level C Dago Red, SP/MR Montross, SS Deepak Khabra and SS Jeffery Lage could make the show at the back end of a roster More analysis is coming ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() Barry Bums, Davis, and the Wahoo-Maniacs rode the momentum from the AL Central title all the way to an AL Pennant before losing 4 games to 1 to Washington. This is the first title and pennant for Bums and Davis, and the first title earned by the Create a Career players. Way to go!

SS Timmy Hawk, Chicago White Sox (ML)
![]() Hawk is starting at Short, where he is plays + defense, and is hitting second (versus Left)/fifth(versus Right) for Chicago (AL). The two spot should be kind to Hawk, especially since his home run stroke is still developing, and he should make strides. Hard to see him making an All-Star team especially with the White Sox predicted to finish below .500

C, Crash Davis (Cleveland, ML)
![]() Crash is the starting Catcher in Cleveland, hitting in the #4 slot. Expect 30+ Home Runs from Crash. If he doesn't get off to a slow start, Crash should make the All-Star team. Crash had a disappointing postseason. He won't get the chance to rectify his rookie lapses as the Indians are projected to win under .500 due to some unusually bad moves by the main club.

Barry Bums, AAA Columbus (Cleveland AAA)*
![]() *As of 4/15/13, Bums is now third string for the AA Affiliate, Akron Mike Carp, the starting Left Fielder for Cleveland strolled up to the plate 207 times, hit 8 Home Runs, and accumulated a WAR of 11.1 in 2016. Barry Bums, the [former] starting Right Fielder for Cleveland, only saw 183 At-Bats in 2016, yet smashed 18 home runs and had a WAR of 12.6. It's clear this is a move of spite after RF Bums was benched for the second half of the 2016 season. Bums is unhappy with his treatment, and he's being buried in the Minors for being unhappy, which is going to cost Cleveland wins this season. It really isn't fair.

Damien "Dago Red" Rosetto, A San Jose (Giants High A)
![]() It's a new season for "Dago Red" as he, yet again, is a backup. But he's been promoted after a solid 2012 and stands to be one of the better players. "Dago Red" is keeping his skills sharp despite limited time. Hopefully, he'll secure a starting role.

Dean "Buddy" Caufield, AA Tulsa (Colorado AA)
![]() Dean Caufield looked destined to start the season in AAA Colorado Springs, but the plane didn't leave, and he looks to repeat in AA. This year should be even better than the last. He'll either get called up mid-season or make an All-Star team. Either way, Dean looks to be making progress towards the show.
