Let me say again how much I appreciate all Cubbyfan's work. And thanks to you guys for helping me to remove Bud Selig from the mix.

For the first time in years I'm really getting seriously into OOTP and like every minute of it. But I still have a ton to learn and sometimes for me the manual isn't all that helpful.

Question: I'm trying to play through some of the actual WSox, Cardinal and Cubs games for 2010. But how do you finally get all the rosters to be accurate. They are sure close to perfect but it took me 45 min to finally get the WSox roster as it should be.

I've spent over 30 min on the Indians roster and I'm still short. Grudzielonick (sp?) is at Min and Redmond is at Baltimore. I can't find Laffey and Marte and Talbot anywhere. That's ok...I'll find them eventually but I was wondering if I could get help on how to get Grud and Redmond. Do I create human managers for those teams and release them so Cleveland could pick them up?

Just having a hard time touching up the rosters. However...I have to admit that while doing the work I've done it's been fun...at least most of the time.

Maybe I should put this in a new thread rather than here. Thanks...

Anyone have any advise on what Randy Wolf's ratings should be?

Right now he is a 1 star pitcher with a projected ERA of 4.75.

I realize 2009 was a career year for Wolf but to assume he regresses from a 3.29 ERA to a 4.75 ERA just seems a bit extreme and would be the worst year in his career.

Great rosters! One thing I just noticed, it seems that Reds have both a AZL rookie team and a GCL rookie team, I think they're only supposed to have the GCL team.

Actually, the Reds have a few changes.

Sarasota has moved to Lynchburg VA (Pirates are now in Bradenton), their Gulf coast team is no longer and they have one in AZ and in the Boca Chica (Baseball City) division in the Dominica.

Randy Wolf benefited greatly from playing in Dodger Stadium, one of the best if not the best pitcher's parks in baseball, so an ERA in the mid to high 4's is not unrealistic.

I was attempting to wait for the newest version but gave in and downloaded version 2. I also downloaded the 2010 schedules. I have no problem importing the 2010 mlb schedule but when i try to import a 2010 minor league schedule it tells me I can only do this before the season starts. I am still on 1-1-2010? Can anyone get the schedules to work? Any news from Cubby on his latest update?
Thanks

I was able to import the minor league rosters once I progressed the date to 3-5-2010.

Yeah, Feb 28 I believe is the earliest you can import the minor league schedules.

It is a pitchers park but not one of the biggest in baseball and there is no way his expectations should be a high 4 ERA. His xFIP the past 2 years has been 3.96 and 4.17 and it was 3.99 in 2007. He most likely should be a 4.25 ERA pitcher or so. The Brewers also should have an average defense as long as Gamel isn't playing full time at 3B so that shouldn't impact it that much.

If he is listed as a 1 star pitcher that is pretty clearly an error in the data sample.

Well, Baseball Prospectus' PECOTA system, which is very good at predicting performance has Wolf going 9-11 with a 4.49 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, and 124 K's. It also stats that his BABIP last season was a league low .254 with (REGRESSION ALERT) is quotes. I stand by my statements, he is rated correctly.

Still kickin' around -- taking a little break before I dive back into things here. Will give an update on a second release soon.

I'll try to put together an OOTP11 converted file tomorrow as well.

CHONE has him at a 4.22 and that has been better than PECOTA the last few years, mostly because their defensive metrics are pretty terrible and mess up the results, something they are working on fixing.

Regardless I looked at Wolf last night and he was listed as 2 star and an expected ERA of like 4.35 so I'm not sure why the original poster had different stats than whats in mine.
