This might just be me, but I find close ups to be incredibly annoying while the game is going on. It's fine for replays, but during gameplay I loose perspective of field position when the zoom in on an attempted tackle or something like that...

The direction of the England game was awful. Lots of REALLY wide shots that showed 3/4 of the field and really bad choice of angles. I'm not sure how many production teams are at work in order to broadcast the games throughout the world but NZ pulled a lemon for the game last night

Looks to me like my comment all along that England needs to be much more concerned about Michael Owen's fitness than Rooney's was spot on. He was out of synch all day. And Crouch shined at moments, but clearly he's not the finisher they need.
Beckham was great for a half. I'm getting a kick reading the Brit papers this morning (man are they harsh on their boys) about how they were lucky to win and lucky Paraguay decided to head a ball in for an own goal. That really sells the shot Beckham made short. It took me a replay to be convinced Gerraro even got a piece of it, and it's very much in doubt as to whether the "header" even made that goal. IMO it likely would have been a goal regardless, it was brilliant shot. As for CIV and the Argies, Drogba is a fabulous talent (just ask Jose Mourinho) and the Ivories are a fearsome bunch. Argentina really looked happy just to limp out of that one. Saviola looks like he may finally make his move into the elite with this cup as well.

One thing I love about the World Cup is all the players around the world showing what talents they are and generating interest from big teams...years after I discovered them in CM/FM!

Crouch continually amazes me, he always seems to be falling to the ground in acomplicated heap of gangly arms and legs but seems to just manage to stay upright and then beat his opponent.

![]() Unfortunately what it also means is that we have RL managers buying junk players based on a couple of good performances at the World Cup. Last edited by Sdpm100; 06-11-2006 at 06:26 AM. |

Useless coverage again. Holland v. Serb-Mont has the commentators volume mixed at a really low level. If I turn up TV so I can hear him properly, the crowd volume gets too loud.... and man is that crowd loud.
