Title Fight LW - (WBA) Abe Attell (CH) (41-12-3) scored a MD15 over Bobby Dobbs (16/19) (18-1) (pre) for his 3rd defense of the WBA LW title. No cuts or knockdowns and it was fairly close fight until late. The judges cards showed 145-140/143-143/146-139. A mandatory rematch has been ordered for March. Dobbs rolled to fight at Prime and I put his career stage to prime but for some reason still fought at pre. He has moved to prime and will get a rematch, but the loss stands. Title Tourney LH - (WBC-First Round) John Wille (11/10) (23-7-1) continued to impress with a UD12 over Alfred Kearns (10/17) (15-3-3) to move to the second round of the WBC LHW title tourney. Wille dropped Kearns in the 9th and then survived a nasty cut over his right eye in the 10th that was reopened twice. The scores were 116-112/115-112/116-112. Other fights HW - John C. Heenan (3/3) (32-9-1) TKO10 Dominic McCaffrey (21/27) (37-14-3) 87-83 weird thing about this one, McCaffrey has beaten Heenan twice yet Heenan was a 5-1 favorite and McCaffrey's ratings in the fight were horrible. His condition was fine so the only thing I can think of was that he fought as a boxer in this fight instead of a slugger. WW - Jack Britton (1/1) (28-4-6) UD10 Dixie Kid (13/14) (28-17-6) 98-95 WW - Kid Graves (41/37) (21-9-2) UD10 Jimmy Mitchell (71/71) (12-15-1) MW - Jack Burke (52/44) (28-18-6) UD10 Frank Fields (52/58) (18-9-1) |

Yeah I thought about deleting it and redoing it ... not sure why the prime in the fight setup didn't work ... I will have to play around with it and see if it is a bug. He does get the rematch though.

Refs barely make it out alive
January 31, 1913
Title Fights WW - (WBA/C) George Cole (CH) (23-10-4) scored a UD15 over Terry Martin (4/5) (25-6-1) to retain the WBA and the WBC WW titles. It was his second defense of the WBA and 4th of the WBC. The fight wasn't really close and there were no cuts or knockdowns. The scores were 145-142/146-140/144-142. HW - (NABF) Carl Morris (9/7) (19-0) (pre) was given a gift DQ9 win over Jeff Clark (17/26) (17-4-1) to retain his NABF title for the first time. Clark was dominating the fight. He had won virtually every round and had dropped Morris in the 9th. He had been warned three times but never penalized when the ref DQ'd him. I had it 79-72 at the stoppage. Morris went to prime and will be forced to a rematch but not immediate. He can have one fight in between since Clark is suspended for 4 months. Title Tourney FW - (WBO - first round) Jerry Barnett (13/8) (22-8-1) moves on to face Terry McGovern in the second round with a DQ6 win over Johnny Kilbane (4/9) (24-5-2). Kilbane was penalized in the first round and then DQ'd in the 6th. I had it 49-45 Kilbane at the stoppage. Other fights LH - Dan Creedon (5/4) (34-16-1) TKO8 George Byers (18/22) (20-13-1) Creedon's first fight at LHW FLY - Grover Hayes (2/2) (20-2-1) UD10 Jack McDermott (14/15) (12-13-1) FW - Al Jansen (UR) (9-0-4) Tech Draw 2 Billy Kolb (UR) (8-3-1) 10-9 Jansen (both at pre in this club fight) |

Steve Taylor ... one of the early fan favorites of the LBA ... is on his last breath (no he didn't die). He stayed at end for a second time with a last 10 of 6-3-1.
Fighters can only stay at post and end twice before having to move on. Taylor's record is 24-24-1. He has between 5 and 10 fights left in his career. |

**** Side note ****
There were about 15 KO or TKO loses in the HW's and no one rolled the 5% for something drastic to happen ... I think the 5% will be a good #. |
