Considering all the injuries we've had over the last 2 months, being in 1st place, I view as a huge accomplishment. The offense has done well, the rotation has been great at times and the pen continues to be the star.


Baines & Roundtree should be back in 2 weeks. I am out til 2003. SP C.C Sabathia was a FA and we got into a month long bidding war with Cleveland, Milwaukee & New York. We won. He will be key for us going forward.

Even without me in the rotation, our rotation is deep. Prior is doing great as a rookie and CC gives us an extra LHP in the rotation. then pen has been great all season.

Schultz has been great as CL.


We have Altott & Miller back which we need since we lost Baines & Johnson for a time.Johnson should also be back in 2 weeks. For now MGR Chris Hardy is mixing & matching in the OF. gibson has been getting most of the PT in Cf but he is a raw rookie but he has power but is not a great defensive Cf. Super utility Tim Osbourne is in Lf. He is a great defensive Lf, Rf, 3b & 1b.Can't hit much though. He has great speed.


Gibson is hitting .375 vs LHP, Gerut is hitting .353 vs RHP.

Toby Anderson led the offense in WAR in August.
Ed Lawrence led the Pitching in WAR.


Brown has improved a bit in TO%


Thomas, Anderson, Mason, Altott & Martinez are all doing well on D.


Armstrong is struggling.


The Rock, Gibson & Baines have all done well on D but we still rank in the lower 1/3 on D but are 6th in ZR.


Doing great in attendance but our payroll increased with the CC signing.


We have a deep AAA team. Only a few players will come up on the 10th.

While the stats may not reflect it, there are some good players at Birmingham. Duncan, Benevutti, Hurley, Boyd, Bannatyne & Barcelo are all solid.


The Dash are in a similar state as the Barons. Players high on my radar are: Rosenberg, Gagne, Thomas, Harvey, Gibson, Cook & Smith.


notable AZL Sox players are: Bauer, Rosales, Sato, Rice, Brown, Ashe & Fuller.

The Pilots are a solid team. 3b Willis Taylor is the front runner for AA MVP. 1b Sam Fairchild is one of the leagues best 1b. Philly Scurry can play multiple positions like SS & 3b. They have a solid rotation, ok pen and are great on D.
