I had to go searching around to find out some info on the game, as I actually found a clip of it off of YouTube.
And this actually happened only a couple of weeks ago, and amazingly it was in a UEFA Cup Second Qualifying Round match between Dinamo Bucharest and Beitar Jerusalem.

I don't know what happened but what I would suggest happened is that the team with the goalie on were behind, and when the striker who was offside played on after the whistle, he went after him because he was wasting their time to get back in the game.

The thing I don't understand though is why they didn't have a player just in front to still be able to cross the ball in if the ball did get stuck in the water.

The sound was in Egyptian so I doubt you missed anything.

But the flag goes up from the assistant on this side, and then the attacker gets a second yellow card - so I'm assuming that it was for playing on after the whistle.

Now why the goalie only got a yellow for what he did, is another question.

Yea, that would make sense.

Is there a rule that whoever takes the corner can't be the next to play the ball? Is that why he just stood there waiting for his teamate to come over and hack at the ball?

maybe because he hit him open-hand. If he would have used a fist, Id bet my bottom dollar on a red card.

Although with Thatcher's hit not even getting a foul, I shouldn't be too surprised.

Yep, that's right.
And there is a clip that shows the Israelis coming off the plane and all their luggage falling down the stairs. Let me get it.

a 12 year old goalie in Colorado got an unassisted goal from a goal kick in April. they just showed in on SportsCenter. That's a pretty cool story for the grandkids.

An all-round bad day for the Israelis finished with them losing 1-0. They went on to draw 1-1 in Sofia in the second leg to go out.

That is amazing. It is rare to see that happen, so for a 12 year old to do it is pretty special.
