A clunker off the post with the goal gaping in an Icelandic league match (who would believe the internet can give us an Icelandic league match, but it is true ). I would have given him the benefit of the doubt, as maybe he was off balance, but if you wear white shoes you've got to be prepared to get laughed at if you **** up imo.

And we have this, which looks as though it comes later on in the same match. Not so funny, just unlucky.

Yep. Although I may well not have been laughing right in front of the player, I would certainly have been laughing myself. :P

That was a great find!! It sounded like someone was playing an LP backwards though when it came to the commentary.

Did you guys already discuss Ben Thatcher getting away with knocking Pedro Mendes out cold when the ball was out?

In passing we did discuss it a couple of pages ago. Only to say that IMO he should have at least six games on the sidelines, and bababui said a lot longer (a year iirc). So what do you think, magnet?

I'd have to agree with bababui on that one. That is on par with Bertuzzi's sucker punch of Steve Moore a couple of years ago.

That's fair enough. But I was considering what will happen, as you know that the FA/UEFA/FIFA (delete where applicable) won't ever do that.

collection of pretty boneheaded keeper moves. Weimer showed this to me. Gotta say the best is the goalie throwing it into his own goal.

Yeah, I think so. Fear of upsetting someone if they start handing down long suspensions. Remember they've got to keep some of the teams and managers especially onside for things like international friendlies.

So would a large monetary fine be the way to go then?

Yeah there have been some pretty funny goalie mistakes. The Tim Flowers one where the ball hits a mole hill and goes over him is the best imo.

I've got some more funny football vids from YouTube, do you want me to post them up?

You can't win either way. Chelsea moaned when they got fined over the Ashley Cole tapping up saga, so it would need a firm hand, and a lot of guts from the FA to sort it out.

Kinda sad when players can get away with that kind of action just because the governing body is missing it's stones.

Secondly, you think a bit of rain stops football games? Not in Spain it don't.

what got under that goalies skin? And aren't they worried about excessive injuries playing on such a wet pitch?
