Front Street Gym is furious they were left off the Philadelphia fight cards. "We ARE the Philadelphia fight scene, Mayor Nutter will be hearing from us if we dont move our home base to New York first", someone was heard saying at The Front Street Gym.

Now you know that when promoters get together, they can never agree on anything. So, FSG will have it's own card in a separate venue altogether. Don't think that Smokin' Joe would want to be on the undercard of Holmes' fight and vice-versa. Plus, since FSG is based out of Philly, I figured that it would be appropriate to have it at the Lincoln Financial Center because of the anticipation of large, hometown crowds. If it is too cold, since it is in January, the other venue I was looking at was The Wachovia Center/Spectrum. You can let me know which one you would like and if you have a creative name for the triple-header card. The Blue Horizon was my first choice, but I think it would be too small for a crowd that would want to see Joe Frazier, not to mention the other locals.

Lincoln Financial Field will host Front Street Gym promoted "SmokeOut" headlined by Smokin Joe Frazier. Philadelphia will have some local guests to spice up the night. Former Eagles coach Buddy Ryan along with his son, Jets headcoach, Rex Ryan will attend. Kevin Bacon and 80s super group Hall and Oates will be in attendance also.

Are we able to select an opponent that someone else has already picked for their fighters?

No, because these lists are for the month that is active and one fighter cannot fight two fights in one month. If an opponent has already signed a contract, he is unable to be picked again for the same month. You could request that fighter for next month if you would like.

Great start Boston. Love the write-ups.
Big Red Promotions is happy with the 3-0 start but wishes Langford & Clay would have got a little more time in the square circle. Looks like both of them need to work a little on their defense seeing that they gave up 100% connect rates to their counter parts. |

Jock Porter, Scotland, debut vs. Geoff Hepplestone, UK, 0-2-0
Paradise City Athletic Club, Paradise City, NJ, USA. We come to you live from the Paradise City Athletic Club as Bear’s Unstable puts on a heavyweight card that has attracted a sold-out crowd. I believe that most of the New Jersey sports fans are here since the Devils are off tonight and well, the Nets have been off all year. Three new signee’s have been brought here to the states, as Bear’s Unstable looks to unveil it’s new line of future champions. The 6’2”, 195lb, sensation from Scotland makes the short walk to the ring first. The crowd is unsure of itself and doesn’t know how to react because it is uncertain of the fighter from overseas. Both U.K. fighters are in foreign territory here, although there is a small contingent in the southwest corner that has produced some dueling banners and flags. The U.K’s, Geoff Hepplestone makes his appearance and enters the ring with an 0-2-0 record, both loses coming overseas (UD10) to Martin Langtry on 1978-01-24 and (TKO2) to English super-prospect, Henry Cooper on 1978-04-23. Hepplestone’s long layoff has many people questioning his conditioning and dedication to the sport but he insists that he didn’t travel all the way to New Jersey to pack it in. Hepplestone looks in great shape at a cut and trim 205lbs. Eddie Futch gives Porter last-minute instructions and the bell sounds to start the evening’s festivities. Both fighters spend the first two minutes feeling each other out. Porter misses with a jab and Hepplestone lands a cross to the body. Porter immediately counters with a left hook and down goes Geoff like a Hepplestone! Porter races towards Hepplestone and tries to put an early finish to the evening. A big body blow puts Hepplestone down for the second time in this opening round. Hepplestone manages to pull himself up with the help of the ropes and the bell sounds to end the first round. Futch instructs Porter to stay patient. “Don’t waste punches trying to knock Hepplestone out.” Hepplestone may have made it out of the first but he still looks very wobbly. Porter traps Hepplestone early in the 2nd, and a thunderous cross ends the fights as Hepplestone is in dreamland. Jock Porter wins his debut fight with a (KO2) at the 1:59 mark. Winner: Porter Result: (KO2) Cards: 10-7, all three cards in favor of Porter Punch stats: Porter 43-106, 40.6% - Hepplestone 8-8, 100% TPE: 0.25 Peter Jackson, Australia, debut vs. Fili Moala, Samoa, 2-1-0 Some people say that the middle child tends to have more issues than the other two children in a family but Bear’s Unstable has no such problems with the middle-bout fighter here tonight. According to trainer Eddie Futch, Peter Jackson could be the best foreign, heavyweight prospect to ever lace ‘em up. I was lucky to be ringside yesterday, at the Philadelphia Arena, to witness Sam Langford and Cassius Clay win in their debut fights. If Futch is correct, I would have to say that there would have to be two in that category, because Canada’s, Sam Langford, is one helluva fighter that not too many Americans have had the pleasure to see fight. Both fighters are well-conditioned, skillful, quick-handed, quick-footed, hard-hitting, boxer-punchers, with height being the only difference that I could observe. Langford is a mere 5’8”, while Jackson, at 6’2”, seems to have a better build to advance to the elite level in the big man’s division. I am thinking that Langford would have a better chance of success is he made a living in the light-heavyweight division. Peter Jackson from Sydney, Australia, by way of Frederiksted, British Virgin Islands, comes into the fight at a well-oiled 6’2”, 195lbs. ‘The Black Prince’ will have his hands full tonight facing Samoa’s, Fili Moala. Moala enters the ring with a 2-1-0 record, with his only loss coming to another highly touted Aussie, ‘Happy’ Larry Foley by way of (KO4) on 1978-06-05. Jackson sprints off his stool and continues right through Moala as he unloads consecutive, unanswered shots that daze his Samoan opponent. Wow, Futch has to calm Jackson down in the corner. Jackson is breathing heavily and Futch cannot seem to find his mouthpiece, which came out during the round due to Jackson’s excitement. Moala does a better job in the 2nd round of avoiding the pressure of Jackson by stepping to his right and blocking punches with his arms. Jackson really opens up in the 3rd round, opening a cut somewhere on Moala’s face. We can’t get a look at the cut because Moala is busy trying to shield his face and cover up because Jackson is on a relentless attack. Moala is eating lefts and rights and is being told to respond by the referee. Moala is still under attack and seems defenseless to stop anything being thrown. There it is, as the referee does a good job of stepping in to save Moala from further damage. Jackson is declared the winner by (TKO3) at the 2:59 mark of the round. Winner: Jackson Result: (TKO3) Cards: 19-19, on all three cards Punch stats: Jackson 119-199, 59.8% - Moala 17-55, 30.9% TPE: 0.25 Sonny Liston, USA, debut vs. Sugar Bear Williams, USA, 0-1-0 The two preliminary fights brought us some nice action but now we will see who the better bear is. Tonight’s main event is brought to you by Bear’s Unstable. Now entering the ring, from Chicago, IL, 239lb, Sugar Bear Williams! The music over the loud speakers is blaring and Williams is throwing packs of Gummy Bears to the crowd. Let me turn this over to my partner, I love me some gummy bears! Williams comes into the ring with a loss (KO3) to Junior Munsell in his only fight to date, last year, in nearby New York. Suddenly, a hush comes over the crowd as a fore-boding image starts the walk down the runway in all black. Black shoes, black shorts with one white stripe down the side, and a black robe. A large, looming figure of a man heads to the ring, no music, no emotion, just a sneer on his face. There is no sweetness to this beast of a man, no sugar, only sweat pouring from his forehead. Sonny Liston is a widely-renown slugger, from Arkansas, known as ‘The Bear,’ who is looking to start his career off with a bang. Sonny Liston comes into the fight at 6’ ½”, 215lbs, and has been training with Eddie Futch in St. Louis, MO. Both fighters come to the center of the ring for instructions and suddenly, Sugar Bear Williams’ smile and laughter has disappeared. Liston doesn’t bother to touch ‘em up and just turns and walks back to his corner. The bell sounds for the opening round and both fighters make their way to the middle of the ring. Sugar Bear is on his bicycle but gets caught against the ropes as Liston cuts off the ring. A huge right hook to the jaw puts Williams down for the count. O’ we 'bearly' knew thee. Sonny ‘The Bear’ Liston had more of a workout in the locker room than he did in the squared circle with the fight ending (KO1) at the 0:51 mark of the opening round. If it wasn’t for Williams’ entrance, we 'bearly' would’ve known he was even here tonight. Winner: Liston Result: (KO1) Cards: N/A Punch stats: Liston 11-11, 100% - Williams 0-0, 0% TPE: 0.25

Good question. I guess I didn't post my thoughts on that even though I had it in my mind during the draft. A fighter may be released from his contract at anytime, but his points are non-refundable or non-transferable. So, the answer to your question would be no. Sorry.
