Wow, you'd be the star of my team, and the ace of my staff with that 5.40 ERA.

more shocking news on ey215...
2003's triple crown pitcher of the year, ey215 has been scratched off the from the Juveniles starting rotation this coming sim. The $10,000,000 per year pitcher has been pitching very poorly comparing to his standard while the team as a whole has also been struggling, falling into last place of the standings this past sim. Manager matt221334 is looking to do anything to turn this team around...No news conference has been scheduled.

Just about half way through the 2004 season, the Felons have proven all preseason predictions wrong and plowed all the way up to first place (45-33) with an unbelievable 8 game winning streak. The Felons just seem invincible right now, despite recent rumour of sportkrazy goign to the Storm. The rise of FranchisePlayer2k4, batboy and combackandsingtome plus the usual dominence from sportkrazy, forms one of the most amazing batting lineup this league has ever seen. In addition to the batting there is the pitching. 4 out of 5 of the Felons' starting pitcher is among the top 10 in the league in wins. Cooleyvol (8), Rookie Quagmire (8), Rookie magnett (8) and enuttage (6). This is also one of the best pitching roation the league has ever seen, arguably even better than last season's Juveniles' ey215, truthserum, illinifan, eugenechurch and danderoo. However it is still doubtful that the Felons will be able to keep this up for the rest o the season. It is a long season and the marathon will eventually wear out this young yet talented group of players.
In other news, the Juveniles have climbed up a little bit and are currently tied with the Jailblazers for third place with 12 games behind the leaders. matt221334, one of the best batter in GFBL history, is now batting only .290, the lowest he has ever batted in the regular season. ey215, after getting demoted to saver, has yet shown any improvement. The jailblazers are slipping a little after another major lineup shuffling. It looks like rookie Gumies will be back on the starting lineup next sim as PBoy fails to make a good impression once again. The only "major" injury this sim: Friday 6/13/2004 : FEL: B Batboy was injured while running the bases. Diagnosis: Strained Back Muscle. He is day-to-day, but full recovery will take 4 weeks. Sources say that the Storm is looking desperately for that last piece of the championship puzzle. However i am sure the Juves, Felons and the Blazers are also looking to do something before the trading deadline which is still a bit over a month away. See you all on the filed next sim on Saturday.

(AP) - Tucson, Arizona - Unamed sources out of the ey215 camp say that the player is demanding to be placed back in the starting rotation or traded.
ey215, last years Pitcher of the Year, has been having a poor season for the defending Juveniles. He was recently demoted to the bullpen. When asked to comment ey215 stated, "I have no comment at this time." His people are talking though, stating that he can't work out of his slump if he's only getting an inning at a time.

I made two magizine covers, and I was hoping to have at least one or two of the articles done tonight, but that won't happen, so it'll be at least tomorrow evening before you see any of the articles. I hope to have in all, 5-6 articles to go with both covers.

Those were relatively simple, and only took a couple hours to do, so I'm glad they turned out okay. And since I created these for the league, I obviously have no problem with you putting them on the site. I also hope to have maybe one or two of the articles done tonight (yes, yes, I know that's what I said yesterday, too).

By dbacks Sports Illustrated Senior Writer PORTLAND -- Let's face it: Felons sportkrazy simply cannot be stopped. Now listen up, because I'm only going to say this once. As we move on into the second half of the season, sportkrazy is as much of a lock to win the MVP as you are to grab five dollars out of the back of a dump truck filled with money. So right now, in a one-time only offer, we're going to tell you exactly how to pitch to the Felons slugger. "There really isn't any one way to pitch to him" says Jailblazers pitching coach Kenneth Hiles. "It's a situation where he clearly can adjust to the things you do, and you have to stay a step ahead of him." "But at the same time, you also need to execute two or three pitches." Okay. So maybe that's how Cy Young would pitch to sportkrazy, but for the average GFBL'er, which includes anybody who is not the ace of their staff, is rarely able to flawlessly execute three pitches. So, how about we ask a guy who can hit three digits on the radar? I mean, if you're throwing gas at 100+ mph, all you need to do is rear back and fire it in there, right? "This son of a gun is dangerous" says Juveniles starting pitcher eugenechurch, who is currently third in the league in strikeouts, and on pace to finish the season with 290. "He's young and he's good. He's unpredictable. He's hard to pitch to. You can't really find a pattern with him right now. That's really scary." So, if you wanna know how to pitch to this guy, join the list. A list that includes pitchers, catchers, pitching coaches, managers, bat boys, bat girls, grounds crew members, ushers and just about everybody else who has watched -- and marveled at -- the man. This kid can hit. At 19, he's more polished than a sailor's shoes. They're attaching the "Triple Crown" tag to his name already, and it's realistic. Entering the weekend, Pujols leads the GFBL in batting average (.385), on-base percentage (.461), slugging percentage (.706), hits (119), homeruns (25), OPS (1.166), runs batted in (68), runs scored (67), and ranked second in walks (45). "He's got tremendous discipline" commented Felons manager Shub. "I think he learned if he hits the ball hard, he gets more hits and more home runs, and if he tries to hit the ball out of the park, he gets less hits and less home runs." He likes to keep things simple, though. Ask him about the Triple Crown, and he says "I don't think about that sort of stuff. I'd rather not have it on my mind right now." Understandably. He's got more to worry about right now, such as helping his team to the GFBL Championship, and winning it all. "What he's done in the short time he's been in the major leagues is incredible," Hiles says. "If he stays healthy, there's no telling what he can do." And that, as eugenechurch said, is a scary proposition. |

Who wins: Felons or Storm? Tons of reasons for both sides.
June 23, 2004 By dbacks Sports Illustrated Senior Writer The Felons will win because they have a bunch of guys having career years. They lead the league in batting average, and come in second in ERA. The Storm will win because of guys like Tim Johnson being on the team. "He's a real pro," Storm manager metskid said. "He knows how to play the game. And I think he brings that fire and determination to the club, which we already had a great deal of it, but he added a little more to it. And being a veteran player, these young players go out and watch him play, the way he plays the game. He's, you know, leading by example." The Felons will win because in October, it always comes down to good pitching, and they have as good as it gets with magnett, Cooleyvol, and Quagmire. The Storm will win because those guys can't pitch every game. The Felons will win because manager Shub is a baseball genius with a unique combination of personality and passion. The Storm will win because metskid is a baseball caricature who hasn't made a wrong move all year. "This is what I love to do, just be in the competition all the time," metskid, who was retired in Portland, Oregon, when the Storm came calling last year, said. "And it's a special feeling. I've never felt this good, never felt this excited in my life. Really, I'm more excited and proud for my family than myself. We've never had a chance to celebrate like this before." The Felons will win because Franchise Player2k4 is due to bust out and wallop some big home runs one of these days. The Storm will win because of Cuss, his .337 batting average, and team leading 47 RBI's. "He's our clutch RBI man," metskid said. "He's no stranger to postseason, his history speaks for itself. He always does well in the postseason. It was big for us to keep cuss healthy and keep him on the field and strong" The Felons will win because the rest of the Storm is batting .230. "You're sitting and managing, you're managing against one guy, just trying to figure out, hope he don't get up, because you know every time he comes to the bat, he can beat you," metskid said of Felons shortstop sportkrazy. "You know, I said I wasn't going to let him beat me. I'd be damned if I was going to let him beat me. FranchisePlayer or Batboy might beat me, but sportkrazy is not going to beat me." The Storm will win because of connerman2's defense in the outfield, metskid's veteran smarts at shortstop, and because of the way catcher TheCrowLives handles the pitching staff. The Felons will win because of Tim Johnson's marvelous repertoire, Cooleyvol's pizzazz and the icewater in rookie BatBoy's veins. The Storm will win because Spirius has done a good job filling in for bigwillis, the man who started the season second for the Storm and was lights out until he suffered a season-ending back injury. The Felons will win because of RayofHope leading off. As one scout said "keep this man off base. If he gets on, he will run and score runs. Keep him off base, and you will win" The Storm will win because they have Championship experience. The Felons will win because they haven't appeared in a Championship game yet, and they're due. I know it's not really playoff time yet, but it sure seems like it (although, looking at the current standings, I can see why I have that feeling). This series should be an exciting one between these two teams. |

Tomorrow, I'll try to do the articles for the ballparks, pitches, inside look on all 4 teams, and player profiles (batboy and magnett).
