BOUT 200 - Wilfred Benitez versus Juan Lazcano

FIGHT RESULT – JUNE 3, 1980 JUNIOR – WELTERWEIGHT UNDERCARD FIGHT #2 Ray Connelly has the call ... Ladies and Gentlemen! This fight ends at the 2:18 mark in Round 10! The winner by technical knockout … Wilfred Benitez! JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER Benitez was seemingly in control of this fight from the beginning! As a Result, he built up a 264-250 Lead on the Judges Cards just before the TKO! INSIDE THE ROPES Benitez took early command of this fight before getting a stoppage by the Ring Doctor due to him inflicting severe cuts to Lazcano! A solid uppercut by Benitez opened up a previous wound under Lazcano’s Left Eye. Benitez left Lazcano’s Face a bloody mess with cuts below & above the right eye & also a huge one on the Bridge of his Nose! JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER You couldn't have had a closer Bout on the Judges Cards just before the KO! In Fact, Cervantes had the Lead 227-226! Pryor KNOCKED DOWN Cervantes in Round 2 Prompting a 10-8 Score in his favor! And Cervantes KNOCKED DOWN PRYOR in Round 8 gaining him a 10-8 Score! INSIDE THE ROPES Pryor's KNOCKOUT came in ROUND 9! FIGHT RESULT – JUNE 3. 1980 JUNIOR – WELTERWEIGHT UNDERCARD FIGHT #4 Billy Jordan has the call ... Ladies and Gentlemen! The end comes at 1:01 of round 11. The winner by KNOCKOUT … Sharmba Mitchell! JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER If the FIGHT stayed the way it was going before the KO, it would have Been a DRAW! All the Rounds were Scored 10-9 on the Judges' Cards! INSIDE THE ROPES Witter was the more aggressive fighter, but the early Rounds went to Mitchell. Around Round 5, Witter dominated the Fight up to when he was KO'd in Round 11! Witter's aggressiveness was seemingly paying off as the Fight Progressed! However, in Round 11, his aggressiveness hurt him as he walked right into a blistering Uppercut! Mark Green, England scores the bout 116 to 112 for Nicolino Locche Massimo Barrovecchio, Italy scores the bout 114 to 113 for Ricky Hatton Glenn Trowbridge, United States scores the bout 114 to 113 for ... The winner by SPLIT DECISION … Nicolino Locche! JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER All the Rounds were 10-9 with a 10-10 and two 9-9's mixed in! The Judge from England saw it in Locche's favor. Silvestre Abainza, Philippines has it 118 to 108 Gary Ritter, United States sees the fight 118 to 108 Mike Ross, United States scores the bout 118 to 108 The winner by unanimous decision … Buddy McGirt! JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER McGirt almost whitewashed Randall! McGirt KNOCKED DOWN Randall TWICE in the 9th Round leading to a 10-7 advantage on all the Judges' Cards! It also led to a 118 -108 ADVANTAGE on all their Cards too! INSIDE THE ROPES McGirt used all his punches effectively throughout the Fight. The winner by technical knockout … Miguel Angel Cotto! JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER At the time of the TKO, all 3 Judges Scored the Bout 69-65 Cotto! Cotto KNOCKED DOWN QUARTEY in Round 4, the only KD in the Fight! The Judges scored the Round 10-8 for Cotto! Ironically, the Judges Scored Rounds 6 & 7 as a 10-10 DRAW! In all my TBCB Bouts, that's a first for me!!!! WOW!!!! INSIDE THE ROPES The BOUT savagely ended with Cotto tearing up both of Quartey's eyes! Your winner by SPLIT DECISION … Meldrick Taylor! … Taylor! JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER All the Rounds in the Bout were Scored 10-9 except the 9th! You winner by SPLIT DECISION … Cornelius Bundrage! JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER Well … We have Quite the Discrepancy on how the Judges Scored this Fight! The Mexican Judge Scored Rounds 8, 9, and 10 in favor of Bradley! This is when Bundrage “cut up” Bradley pretty badly! Clearly, those 3 Rounds should have favored Bundrage! Hector Miguel, Argentina has it 115 to 111 Arthur Lurie, United States scores the fight 116 to 110 Bobby Wells, United States sees the fight 116 to 109 And your winner by unanimous decision Donald Curry!!! JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER A fairly even Fight up until the 12th Round! But the 12th belonged to Donald Curry and that Won the Fight for him too! INSIDE THE ROPES Curry started to control the Fight in the Middle Rounds. However, N'Gidi started to rally late but was derailed in the 12th Round! That's when Curry KNOCKED HIM DOWN TWICE!
