Springfield Royals - City nickname is the Queen City of the Ozarks Springfield Whiskey Jacks - a rumor about the origin of the name Springfield comes from a man named James Wilson who offered anyone free whiskey if they would vote to name it after his hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts Springfield Generals - In August of 1861 a battle during the civil war occurred just outside Springfield and Gen. Nathaniel Lyon was killed making him the first Union General to die in battle Springfield Shooters - July 21, 1865 a shootout occurred between Wild Bill Hickok and David Tutt, there are 2 brass plaques inlaid in the pavement of the city where this happened Springfield 66's - This is the birthplace of Route 66 |

Saint Paul
Saint Paul Saints - Pretty straight forward but it is called the "Saintly City" Saint Paul Blue Wings - Their city flag has 2 blue wings on it Saint Paul Literates - The twin cities are known for their high literacy rate Saint Paul Pig Eyes - During settlement of the area a local man opened a very popular tavern, his name was Pierre "Pig's Eye" Perrent. "Pig's Eye" is also another nickname for Saint Paul Saint Paul White Rocks - In the early 17th century the local Native americans called the area l-mni-za ska dan which translates to little white rock referring to the exposed sandstone cliffs Saint Paul Steamboats - It was a popular landing spot in the 1800's being on the mississippi river |

Fresno Gold Miners - City was formed because of the Gold Rush Fresno Railhawks - The Central Pacific Railroad put a station in Fresno in 1872 which really expanded the town Fresno Fire - There were two big fires in the late 1800's one destroyed a whole city block Fresno Sun Sox - Playing on the California Sun Fresno Force - Fresno is home to many of the US Armed Forces |

MADISON LAKERS
Named after the Four Lakes Madison has decided on the nickname Lakers. Adopting the color scheme of their parent club the Green Bay Warriors. Many fans are wondering how they came up with their logo which features a giraffe and baseball. The Laker's logo has already gained many rumors on its origin and will surely become a legend as time progresses.

SACRAMENTO MINERS
Originally slated to join the ABA's AAA as the 49er's the management team has decided on a name change to the "Miners". This nickname refers to people who came here during the Gold rush in 1849.

I have to say I've really enjoyed you allowing me to be a part of this collaboration Hock, I've enjoyed doing the research and trying to find names you may like and then seeing your designs is such a joy. Looks like a LOT of my cities in my fictional world will be getting a rebrand.
I think we've finished AAA or did I miss anyone? Let me know if I have and I'l get to work on it. Otherwise I'll start AA next week for you. |

i like the miners name a lot more than the 49ers! As for toledo, I like the Toledo Tigers for no reason other than it rings very nicely

TUCSON AZTECS
As a minor league affiliate of the Phoenix Suns, Tucson comes into play as the "Aztecs". Giving a nod to the Aztec culture can be found across the southern US.
