1890 June Reports - Trying a little something different, the first one looks bad, the others are coming along nicely. Tell me what you think

So, mid season has come, and I think it was time for a change in how things were and are reported. To be honest, it might take a little longer, but this new way is better, was getting tired of typing all the post, lol.

NL - The Trojans are off and running and trying to win the championship for the first time. They are chased by the Phillies (2gb), Ruby Legs (5gb) and the Giants (7gb).

NA - CL - The Kekiongas are out and trying to run away with it. IL - Tie at the top between the Red Stockings and Marylands, will be interesting race.

AA - The Stars, Maumees and newcomers the Bronchos are the three at the top so far, could be real interesting to see what Rochester does.

UA - EL - Close race here , could be anyones Division to win. WL - Looks as if the Winds have blown the othes away, we shall see what happens next

PL - WL - Looks as if only the Liberties are not in the running. LL - Bisons and Infants battle it out, would have thought the established Bisons would run away here. We shall see.

August is done, will be posting the final standings, hit and pitching leaders and streak for each league as soon as they are all done. The NA and UA have the rest of the seaon and playoffs to finish while the PL is into its playoffs. Will post them all before I post September very soon.

This method takes a bit longer to do, but I am starting to like it a lot better, longer but far easier.

The National League was did not end the way the Trojans wanted it too. They were unable to hold off the Phillies and in the end, the Phillies won it by 8, going away, to take their 1st ever title.

The Kekiongas won the CL by 7 and the Red Stockings were able to hold off the Marylands, but the Kekiongas were able to win their 3rd title in their 3rd attempt.

The AA Stars took their first title and beat the Maumees, Virginians and the newcomers the Bronchos to do so. It was a very good season for the new team in Rochester, best start in any league.

Altoona wins their first EL penant only to lose to the defending UA Champs the Chicago Winds in the Championship. It was a very good season all around here.

The Players League formed and played it's first season in 1890. 8 teams took the field and one of those teams was an established team from Buffalo. When the announcement was made, everyone thought the Bisons would run away and win the first PL Title and they did do just that but everyone was surprised that this was not the run away it was supposed to be. They did beat the Infants by 9 games in the regular season, but the Boston Reds gave them all they could ask for in the Title series. Boston went down 3 games to 1 and fought back but the Bisons took game 7 to win their first PL title (3rd overall, 2nd in a row). Next season should be a lot of fun to see if they can keep it going.
