Well done Phillies and a great job finishing it up tonight. Certainly the deserving winners.

I've certainly got soured by all the moaning and groaning the past couple of days. I'm sure there'll be another couple of weeks of it to come too.

I really don't see how this was at all tarnished. If anything they get dealt a crap hand by MLB for the way Game 5 was handled and still overcame. I don't see anything tarnished about it.

I haven't felt this happy in 28 years. My wife can just deal with that.

Hinske gave away that last strike. He should be embarrassed.

Anyway, grats Phils Phans.

I am not going to say the series deserves an astirisk or anything of the sort. In fact as much as I dislike the team I feel very sorry for them and the fans that their glory moment was tarnished like this by MLB.
Game 5 never should of began much less made it the bottom of ther sixth.
It is a shame that a series with such promise and some fine moments was ruined by such poor judgement.

Maybe the long winter will improve my feeling on it and my mood, but this was a sour note on the season.
Godspeed to spring
You had two days to spout this out, and you pick when the Phils nail it down?

Yes, you have a wondrous thought process.

I'm off to enjoy my sour, tarnished note that could only be appreciated by Philly fans. I wouldn't have expected anything different.

What the hell are you talking about? The game absolutely should have started on Monday. It wasn't raining. If the commissioner can postpone a game because it look like it might be bad weather that would be one of the worst things ever. What is going to stop him from saying, oh it looks like there should be bad weather tonight and give one team the advantage by postponing a game and allowing a team time to let their best pitcher rest? Nothing. The game had to be started. Now when it was stopped, we could talk about.

Every forcast from Sunday night into Monday had it raining all night long in Philly. The game should have either been moved up an hour or not played at all.
Baring all that it never should have reached the point where there was a 48 hour gap in between the two halves of the game.

Just like with steroids and the tied All Star game a hard decision needed to be made and MLB froze at the time of decision.
The inclement weather policy for post season games needs to be re-examined and rewritten.
Maybe shorten the season, maybe take back some control from network TV.
Do whatever you have to do to make sure this mess never ever happens again.
This is a terrible way to end a season and a shame to the game of baseball.

Now a note to all those to think I am picking on the Phillies.
I am NOT saying it is a shame the Phillies won.
I am saying this a shameful way to play out the last game of a championship series no matter who is playing or who wins.

Read Peter Gammons article from this morning. He pretty much sums up my feelings and I am sure the feelings of many baseball fans.

You think that...but to Phillies fan, it was expected. You have to live it to understand it.

There's no shame in this at all.

This is no time to discuss about what MLB did wrong. I don't give a **** about that either way. Now is the time to bask in a glow that hasn't been lit in my lifetime.

That line perfectly sums up how I and thousands of others felt back in '05 when the team I support in our National Rubgy League competition won the Championship for the first time since 1969. It's an incredible feeling.
