Hmm! Maybe my comic book, baseball and football card collections, book library and computer and board games collection scared off Psycho Bride. Nope, as her name aptly indicates, she was a psycho! I cherish my time without her! Then again, she probably does the same.

You can't go wrong rooting for the Fighting Irish or the Red Sox! When we needed a win in high school basketball, we scheduled the Fighting Amish!

I rooted for the Colts Before they moved to Indy!

Yeah,I played APBA as a teen. Several of us teens would have leagues every year. I can remember running to the post office to see if the new seasons cards were out yet. Also played Title Bout with the cards about 1978-79. After graduating high school in 84 and getting married a year later my playing time dwindled until getting back into sims on the computer in the early 90's. I miss the old APBA days and rolling the dice praying for 66..LOL. I enjoyed Strat-O-Matic football for a while and have probably played probably 90 percent of all sports sims made. I have yet to get back into baseball sims after losing my love for the game after the strike. I still play fantasy and check out boxscores but am nowhere near the kind of fanatic that I used to be. Maybe I just need to try OOTP to rekindle the fever? Outside of our beloved boxing,I enjoy NFL(Lifelong Dallas Cowboy fan),NBA and college football and basketball(WVU Mountaineers).

I took her out to the game on the weekend I wrote about in the OT thread and she loved it, as it was the first time she'd been to a game at Leichhardt Oval.
What! She doesn't like Aussie Rules Footy? Time for you both to start barracking for Collingwood my friend.

Yeah he is off to a good start for sure. Fly's did what they are supposed to this time also. I am counting on my LW's and Fly's for sure. Good performance by my HW's again. I'm going to have to rethink my FW's. Did not expect a 2-0 start but I will take it!!!!

See Mike, your team is off to a good start. My team on the other hand is not doing so wel. If we were only fighting 6 divisions I might be doing OK, but my Heavyweights and Flyweights continue to struggle with a stellar record of 1-7 after two weeks.

The strength of my team seems to be with the Middleweights and Welterweights thus far, but I am enjoying this despite my teams lack of success.

APBA and strat-o-matic, 2 of my favorite game companies in my younger days. I owned every sports game they both made; including APBA horse racing (a lot of fun), bowling (eh), and a very interesting golf game with an individual board mapped out for each hole.

APBA baseball and football were great, and I remember going for the 11,33 & 66 rolls! I still enjoy Strat-o-Matic baseball, but agree regarding the baseball strike. I haven't been to a game since, though I follow the Orioles. Maybe OOTP is the ticket for several of us?

The APBA golf game was interesting, and I enjoyed big George Bayer and then Jim Thorpe (2 different versions), who could occasionally belt them 340 yards, the longest poke in my versions. But they hit too many too far left and right on the grids, and their putting was suspect. Now that I think about it, the Thorpe version may have been another game. I'll do some searching this weekend.

I think it stopped being fun for Lee around 0-15 ... he became real moody, started rooting for fighters like Billy Zumbrun, struggled to please the very very fine Mrs. Lee, and talked constantly about the beating of small farm animals.

LOL. You should never take this stuff that seriously. Perhaps I will be this years Lee, but we are only two weeks in so things can only get better.

Stan Almond has been a nice surprise as I did not expect much from certain fighters, and I tried something completely original (NOT) in picking a team made up of fighters either born in Canada, or those that emigrated here with the exception of Beaver Kajimoto who I only picked because there was only one fighter from Canada among the Flyweights.

I hope you enjoyed your fictitious trip to Toronto, as I was a gracious host.

LOL

I tried something a little different this time also. When in doubt I picked a Mexican or Hispanic fighter. Obviously I have some who aren't but for the most part.

I'm stunned at Virchis' 4-0(3) start. I know it won't last but great start for him. My MW's are 0-8 so far, which was expected. I always try to dump one weight class. My only disappointment in them is that I am wasting 7 cap points on them. Next season they will total 2.

Edit: I have some people who are probably just taking up space until the waiver wire comes up. But by the 5th week some will be turning to pre and the waiver fighters will all be beginners.

Congrats and good match jbergy. Close one!
I feel I should have pulled out a decision win in two of those draws and the Mancini stoppage against Jack was just crap. Talk about hometown favoritism on the scorecards.

Good win KC. Your boys did a nice job pulling away in the second half.

I played APBA, Strat-o-matic, and sherco as a kid. I currently have a football league using action pc that is in its 9th season. I have all the strat-o-matic computer games with the exception of hockey but I'm not in any leagues at this time.

I got really hooked on Sports Illustrated Pennant Race Baseball for a while while I was in the Navy and spent many all-nighters playing it in the barracks while I was attending 16 weeks of Basic Electronics training.

Last weekend, while digging around in my garage, I found a box that contained my beat-up copy of Pennant Race and the piles of accumulated paper tracking what I did. (Damn - that was about 18 years ago! I'm such a pack rat!)
