-Baltimore Orioles join from AA -Louisville Colonels join from AA -St. Louis Browns join from AA -Washington changes name to "Senators" and join from AA American Association -Boston Reds fold -Cincinnati Kelly's Killers fold -Columbus Solons fold -Philadelphia Athletics fold After existing for 10 years as a rival league to the NL, the American Association ceases operations and now the National League will stand alone as the sole professional league.
