Redsoxford, Great work on the import program- but I have a question- I have been fiddling all day and cannot get this to work- and it would be a GREAT timesaver: I have exported the teams.csv file- and have verified that within that file I can change the team names of the MLB teams (parent league)- and upon re-importing they are changed in the game. However, I had an idea to add a college feeder system to Cubby's roster. I first saved Cubbys roster as a template and then added a college feeder league with the exact same parameters (league and division sizes and so forth) as Foz's real world college template. All that worked fine. Now, what I would LIKE to do is copy and paste the real team names from FOz's NCAA feeder league's teams.csv to the appropriate college teams (but created generically by the game) in Cubbys roster. I ONLY tried copying the team names at first- not league ID's or anything like that. The import worked fine- but all the feeder team names still remained the same. I then went back to the original teams.csv from the Cubby roster with the feeder teams and just tried to change ONE of the nicknames. Again, upon re-import the name did not change. Seems odd- as this EXACT same process worked for changing MLB team names and cities upon re-import. For some reason, it appears that the feeder leagues are just simply not re-imported with the rest for some reason...Does this sound plausible? What do you think? I could very easily add in a real college template with team colors, etc. very easily if I could get this to work. Thanks for your help! |

Is there an updated file coming soon with all the various issues fixed? I want to start my franchise but I do know there are some issues. I asked this earlier in the thread and did not get a real good feel. Anyone? Cubby?
Thanks, Matthew |

This isn't really a "big" problem, but I've noticed a lot of minor league players that haven't been called up to the bigs yet have major league contracts. Shouldn't they still have minor league contracts?

Is the issue with the game crashing when adding new leagues to Cubby's world fixed yet?

Not sure if this is how it works IRL, if not we might have to change it back. But otherwise, there's no penalty to putting a guy on the 40-man, because you can just take him off without any problems if you need to and he has a minor league contract. Planning on getting another release out there soon, but trying to get as much stuff into it as possible. |

some questions...
hi,
before i say anything else thanks for all the great work and the countless hours you guys have put in to making this set. have been playing for hours and into my 6th season of simming and a couple of things are coming up. league totals seem really out of whack, only dozen guys hit over .300 and no one over .320. been playing around with the leagues totals but no improvement on this. secondly and a minor thing but all the player's number seem out of sync, at least all the NY Mets players that is. i went and changed them all individual (well as far as i could before i wanted to get back to simming) but just thought i would say this for next release. thanks again for all the work, looking forward to the new release. shing |

Try the newest release, there was a problem with the league totals that we fixed.
Also numbers probably won't be right for a LONG time, they seem purely cosmetical, change awfully quickly in OOTP land, and so we'll get to those last most likely. |

I never even considered the fact that Hochevar and company might have been dropped because he had a major league deal... if someone is doing a sim soon, could you give him a minor league deal and see if they still drop him? That might be a quick fix.

Will the negative projected balances on teams mess things up as the season progress and ends?

There's only a few teams in the red that I forgot to adjust, but it won't mess anything up as the season ends.

I just gave the guys on my waiver wire (Hochevar, Samardzija, etc.) MLCs. The result stays the same. Nobody claims them and they are promptly released.

Was that before they went on the wire though? I'm thinking maybe the whole process starts in the first place because they're not very good (right now) and have major league deals.

No it was done after they were already on waivers. That's what's currently on my file. I will start a new one right now and give them MLC before i sim anything and see what happens.

Well good news. Before anything I changed Samardzija and Hochevar to MLC. Next I turned on waivers and the two of them are not placed on waivers. All other specs (that I left with Major League Contracts) are still on waivers and will be released.

On another note, I did just run three years of sim, and besides crazy numbers from Jerry Gil and Erik Lis in 2008, the leaderboards looked very good. There was a ton of prospect turnover (top prospects changed teams a lot), which is surely an AI issue. I did have one dodgy setting, though, so I'll run it again. |

Good!
I'll fix up teams with right contracts (and minor league contracts) and coaches and get us another release out there. |

Well, good stuff Underlined! I'm a bit confused why it's happening that way, but I'm happy nonetheless.
