He didn't get pushed into anything. He's a big boy. He made a concious decision to announce and promise that the set would be released guaranteed by a certain date and it wasn't. It's as simple as that.

Although I don't agree with the brash manner this person stated all this in, I do tend to agree with the whole roster release problem. The only reason I tend to agree with it though, is because back when the game was being made and advertised and everyone was being encouraged to preorder Cubbyfan and a bunch of other beta testers were all but giving us the guarantee that real rosters were going to be released with the game, and the same thing happened last year, only they were just late last year. This year comes around, and Cubbyfan got a new job (definitely understandable) and now someone else is making a crack at it.

To the people who say the only way to guarantee real rosters is to do it yourself ... that's just a ridiculous thing to say in my opinion... I'm not going to do anything myself to a game I payed $34.99 for. That's why I pay $34.99, to get the gaming experience I want without having to put in any work at it.. I just want to play the game, "out of the box" so to speak, and real rosters included.



I guess my ultimate opinion on the whole thing is that I think that the people who beta test these things and advertise rosters on release date and advertise rosters on Sunday, etc, etc, etc just shouldn't be represented in any way by Markus...

This topic should not be sticky, beta testers should not be allowed to give any type of false hopes on real rosters (I couldn't find it, but I know release day was eluded to somewhere by someone making rosters) and they should be treated more of a separate entity than they are..

By making the topic sticky or allowing people to represent themselves as a handpicked crop, it makes the game as a whole look poor because when people expect something and don't get it, even if it's not the company/programmers fault, it still reflects badly on them. While it's not ultimately their fault, they do have a tendency to over represent the people because it has the potential to make the game even greater, but when they fault short it definitely has the opposite effect.

Real rosters are independent of the game. They have no affiliation with SI. That's your misunderstanding.

I know APujols will get mad at this but I can't resist. He was one of the loudest complainers last year when CubbyFan set deadlines and missed them. To his credit, he did recant once he was helping out and realized the amount of work that goes into these mods.

You guys need to be patient. Open up a fictional league and test things out that you want to put into use when you get your real rosters. try things that you have always wanted to but weren't sure about i.e salary cap, revenue sharing, feeder leagues, independant league, scouting other nations etc. You may find something that you didn't know would add so much pleasure to your real game.

failing that, go outside and take a walk. Grab the clubs and hit the links, I know I am doing that this afternoon!!

When I am told that real rosters are on the way, I tend to believe the people that are delivering them will do so when they say so until proven otherwise. The set has not been delivered as promised. I will not post any updates as I find them out on this issue in order to not raise hopes.

Its sposed to be a complet full minors REAL set of the current year, to be followed up in june with additional indy leagues and 1500 real ammies in feeder leagues.

You hit the nail right on the head. Rosters were advertised when I originally pre-ordered the game, thus the main reason why I pre-ordered it. Just getting a little old hearing the "why don't you do it yourself comment."

As far as the "rushing him to make a deadline comment" I think he's the one that posted this poll stating that he would originally have something released by Sunday. We didn't start asking questions until he missed his first deadline.
