You're telling me that purple monstrosity is something you can pick by default?

Not the color itself, but the default gives you three different pants--solid, a stripe down the side, and pinstripes--with three customizable color palettes--pants, belt, and stripe(s).

Settlements Today

5 January 2302 – Spectacle Island

Waves crash and an old mirelurk dies. Her claws fall into the sand. The security guard opens his eyes. The realization sets in before the gun reaches his hand. Waves crash and a radstorm brews. The people run for shelter aghast. The security guard opens his eyes, the realization anew, belongs now to his busy day.

I can feel it, this history on the lazy sea sands, isolated from the Commonwealth. A protected island with no danger but the occasional mirelurk blasted with a sonic pulse, causing it to scurry back to the sea, or worse for that mirelurk, explode into a thousand pieces.

Pic 1-Bedhead Inn

I walk around the porch at the Bedhead Inn run by the widow Jeanine Smith-Bedhead. She tells me the history of the island from the first records she found in the Boston Public Library through the Great War until after the time Nate Howard supposedly single-handedly killed a Mirelurk Queen and her brood and fought off a raiding pirate gang after forming a settlement for the Minutemen in 2288. She speaks as though she has made this speech a thousand times, never once redoubling her position but presenting fact after fact.

The earliest known inhabitation of the island, a “drumlin” as she calls it—making me wonder why there is no Drumlin Diner on the island—was as a processing plant for dead horses. Later, the island became a trash dump and remained that way through the American Civil War, and way past two World Wars. In the 1990s, Boston started to repurpose the island, cleaning it of its landfill status and creating a city park and tourist trap. Later, in 2048, a billionaire named Cleveland O’Sullivan purchased the island from the city and intended it to be a private island, which it remained until the bombs fell in 2077.

Mrs. Smith-Bedhead also told me of what had happened on the island since 2288, with the Minutemen sometimes using the island as a secure location. A former Minuteman, Old Louis Gunnerson, operates the guard station. The automated turrets, the sonic pulse system, and some old bells all alert him to anything approaching the island. The Spectacle Island Ferry leaves the Boston Harbor docks at 7:10 AM sharp each day and arrives at promptly 7:45 at Spectacle Island. It leaves the island again at 10:10 AM, arriving at the Harbor at 10:45. The second round trip occurs in the afternoon, with a 1:10 PM departure from the Harbor to the Island, and the final trip at 4:10 from the Island to the Harbor. My departure is at 4:10 today.

Pic 3-Harbor-Island Ferry

Mrs. Smith-Bedhead walks me to the sitting room in the Bedhead Inn. She tells me more about the mansion. “It was a shell of a mansion, really,” she says. The Minutemen with help from some of Nate Howard’s building expertise rebuilt the mansion over the course of several years, with the mansion finally completed in 2294. The sitting room is the place where one of Mrs. Smith-Bedhead’s employees serves me breakfast. As expected, it is heavy in Commonwealth sea creature and vegetation with the specialty of Cram-Mirelurk Egg Omelette. I am served a “pick me up” to drink, a strong concoction of boiled silt beans and rum.

The mansion has been decorated with all the beauty Mrs. Smith-Bedhead can muster. In the sitting room, she sits on the couch near the fireplace while I sit at a nook in the corner, looking out to the ocean. She has blue wallpaper “made by my Nannybots” and scrapped paintings and posters donning the wall in the room. There is an old TV that stays on because she loves the “white noise” it puts out. “Reminds me of my husband,” she says. “Rest in power,” she follows, mentioning the same phrase every time she mentions him, which is often in our conversation.

Pic 4-Bedhead Inn sitting room

Following breakfast, I decide I will walk the island one more time. It is not a big island, and I should be able to complete my trek before it is time for boarding the Harbor-Island Ferry in the afternoon. Mrs. Smith-Bedhead allows me to store my belongings near the Bedhead Inn’s front door. I have to check out early since several visiting families are expected to occupy the room by lunchtime. I bid Mrs. Smith-Bedhead adieu and head out to the island, walking past the guard station where Old Louis is napping and onto the Cleveland O’Sullivan Memorial Walking Trail. In the middle of the trail, I see the expanding baseball field and the local farms of vegetation. There is a processing plant nearby with the tell-tale odors of rotting mirelurk carcasses.

As I walk, the everlasting sound of waves crashing remains. I look back towards Boston across the Harbor and feel the sense of rushing and danger that sometimes prevails. Just like my trip to Walden Pond a few months ago, I bask in the peace Spectacle Island brings away from the revelry of Downtown Boston. Life here is simple, slow, melodic. I do not get away from Diamond City much these days, but when I do, places like Spectacle Island seem to be the serenest of places.

Pic 5-The Harbor

The waves crash, and I walk in peace, stepping in tune to each one. Old Louis probably still naps in the guard station. The boys of the diamond probably trot through the field, feeling the morning breeze blowing through their hair. And I think, if the CBO had a team here, I would make it a point to visit more often. For now, the Strength of the Greater Boston Rookie League and the Reapers of the Boston Youth Development League will have to do.

Thank you so much! I enjoy writing them, but they do take some time. It doesn't necessarily show in the brief stories, but I put a lot of time into researching the actual place and looking up mod builds for the aesthetics.

Now I need to consider where Nat Wright-Kawolski will go next. Also, I have plans for Vikki Vail to tour us around Mount Desert Island.

To be fair, a decent chunk of your audience here might actually have never done this as I don't know how many play games outside of OOTP, but anyone who's ever played something in the genre of Fallout and either tried to take a good screenshot or tried to mod the game will know how hard it is, so I can definitely appreciate the effort!

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

13 January 2302

News and Notes from Around the CBO and Its Affiliates

Monday, January 13th , 2302
Oberland T-51s: Signed 1B Chris Fencebuster.
Construction news: The downtown area known as Postal Square has been fully cleared, leaving room for Goodneighbor's downtown stadium to be constructed. The stadium will be the second-largest in the Commonwealth after Diamond City's Great Green Jewel. There have been some updates also on other stadiums, including an outfield seating area being built around the BMU's Nahant Shoremen's Village Uncle Park. Also, there are plans to begin construction of an upgraded stadium at CIT Ruins, which may force the CIT Ruins Refractors (BMU) to relocate during the 2302 season or for 2303.

Sunday, January 12th , 2302
The Lexington Synths traded 24-year old minor league C Phil Presidentson, 24-year old minor league CF Nasty Byrd, 19-year old minor league RHP German O'Hagan, 23-year old minor league RHP Bobby Laugherty, and a 3rd round draft pick to the Diamond City Swatters, getting 28-year old minor league LHP Tim Fusion in return. The trade comes in a combination of suspending SP Tristan Marble eight games to start the 2302 season for insubordination. Marble lashed out at MGR Bobby Lagermann during a pitching session after Lagermann told Marble to do better in 2302 after a 6-13, 5.15 season, in which Marble responded, "Put better hitters and defenders around me, and I would do better." Marble was ordered off the practice field and then suspended from the incident that happened yesterday. Today, the team announced the trade to obtain one-time CBO standout Fusion. Fusion was the first CBO pitcher to throw a no-hitter and won the 2298 CBO Pitcher of the Year Award. However, the 28-year-old struggled in 2300 with the Swatters, going 8-16 with a 4.82 ERA. In 2301, he spent the entire season with the BMU's Natick Banks Big Leaguers where he went 6-4 with a 3.55 ERA and won the Massachusetts Association's Milton General Pitcher Award.

Friday, January 10th, 2302
Diamond City has been impressed with the quick learning of 2nd-round pick 1B Needham Tickler. The Thompson Heights Earthlings (BYDL) product has impressed Swatters hitting coach Brandon Jones, as well as the coaches for the Atomatoys Factory Buttercups (GBRL), MGR Bubba Doorley and HC Gabe Apackofcigs. Jones has been working with Tickler to improve something Jones calls "contact sweet spot" by changing Tickler's bat to a lighter weight with a large contact area.

28 January 2302

News and Notes from Around the CBO and Its Affiliates

Monday, January 27th , 2302
Oberland T-51s: Signed 1B Jordan Cola.
The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys traded 22-year old minor league RHP Sam Molina to the Starlight Lady Killers, getting 20-year old minor league SS Water Allen, 19-year old minor league SS Larry Hunterman, 18-year old minor league 2B Rollie Leroyson, 24-year old minor league RHP Jason Bucky, and a 4th round draft pick in return.

Sunday, January 26th , 2302
Oberland T-51s: Signed 1B Purple Gonzales.
Goodneighbor's Justin Wilkerson sees himself as a closer entering the 2302 season. The only problem? Teammate Tiny Greene already possesses that role, and he is considered to be the most talented closer in the CBO. Does this indicate a move needed for Wilkerson? Probably. In 2301, Wilkerson was 4-5 with a 2.21 ERA.

Tuesday, January 21st , 2302
Oberland T-51s: Signed 1B Travis Revolver.
The Easy Town Assaultrons traded 22-year old minor league LF Kenry Batray to the Finch Farm Four Leafs, getting 24-year old RHP Good Company Schiller and a 4th round draft pick in return.

Monday, January 20th , 2302
Oberland T-51s: Signed 1B John Lochirco.
The Abernathy Adamantium traded 19-year old minor league 3B Curt Toth and 18-year old minor league RHP Flipper Squire to the Warwick Mirelurks, getting 24-year old LF Joe Whiskey Hagen in return.

Sunday, January 19th, 2302
The Slog's Millioncap Go leveled up and now comes to the 2302 season with the Quick Hands perk. According to Go, it's CBO MVP or bust in the 2302 season. Oh yeah, and he wants his team to win the championship.

Saturday, January 18th , 2302
Oberland T-51s: Signed 1B Kyle Jetplane.

Tuesday, January 14th , 2302
The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers traded 31-year old 3B Barzy Barzola and 20-year old minor league C Cola Roberson to the Sunshine Tidings Chemists, getting 26-year old minor league LF James Darling in return.

Feature Article: What is Warwick Trying to Do?

With the 20 January trade of LF Joe Whiskey Hagen to Abernathy, the Warwick Mirelurks traded away perhaps their only star. That leaves us to question, "What is Warwick trying to do?"

The team that was dead last in offense in 2301 in everything except home runs just gave away their best power hitter for a couple of prospects in 3B Curt Toth and RHP Flipper Squire who are probably years away from the CBO. Now, 30-year-old CF Ginger Rogers is probably the Mirlurks' best bet to hit double-digit home runs.

Warwick finished 34-74 (.315) last season with only one team ever finishing worse (Roxbury at 29-79, .269 in 2298). At this point in time, we would not be surprised if the Lurks won fewer than 25 games in 2302.

The one thing that Warwick does have going for it is three up-and-coming pitchers in Brian Bridges (5-8, 4.37), Dobbie Radoncis (9-14, 4.22), and Wearya Going (3-13, 4.12). While their ERA was middle-of-the road, all three look to be getting better each year.

The Mirelurks also have nine potential future CBO players on their GRBL team. Along with Toth and Squire listed above, they have plus-prospects 1st-overall pick 2B Diamond Ball, SP Quest Dawg (#10 prospect as of 2 October), and RF Bulleye Shooterson (#35). None of those prospects figure to make much of a difference until 2304 at the earliest, so it looks like the Mirelurks are just hoping to develop prospects for a future dominance. Or they could go the Roxbury route and develop players for other teams by trading good players (ahem, Hagen) for prospects.

Warwick GM Josh Charliehorse and the rest of the front office is mum. That had better hope that the coaching staff with the GBRL's Clifton Vertibirds can actually develop talent and get this team some players soon, or Warwick may go down as the worst team in CBO history.

The Warwick Mirelurks have suspended their second-best player on their team, SP Dobbie Radoncis, for 10 games after he publicly made statements critical of the team and GM Josh Charliehorse.

Wednesday, February 12th, 2302
Concord tech specialist Jake Asam provided a special gift to the Concord Radstags on Wednesday when he revealed the Living Legends Park to honor the Radstags' best players. Currently, the only featured player is LF Dan Erb, a lifetime .355/116/421 hitter.

Tuesday, February 11th, 2302
Atom Cats' missing BMU RP Kyle Kyleson, Jr., is still missing following a super mutant attack. At this point, it is presumed that Kyleson will not be found alive, though search and rescue teams are still pursuing him. We will post any more updates we get.

Monday, February 10th , 2302
FHE Yao Guai: Signed RP Jason Woods.

Sunday, February 9th , 2302
The Quincy Gunners traded 24-year old RHP Ryan Kazarian to the Lexington Synths, getting 19-year old minor league C Booger Knights, 21-year old minor league SS Pirate Birn, and 23-year old minor league RHP Wizard Balinese in return.

Thursday, February 6th, 2302
Jailed University Point LF Mag Barbarian received news from a Brotherhood-run facility that his sentence was being extended for three additional months for "bad behavior." Barbarian is currently in the facility because of illegal smuggling. Now, he will not be available before the start of the 2302 season.

Tuesday, February 4th , 2302
The Slog Ghouls: Released RP Jason Woods. Woods supposedly has not been happy with the The Slog franchise since being converted to a reliever after the Ghouls obtained him from Abernathy in 2298.

Monday, February 3rd , 2302
The Warwick Mirelurks traded 31-year old 1B Straight QuaLiTy and 20-year old minor league LF Matt Bicknase to the Vault 81 Dwellers, getting 23-year old minor league 2B Bobb County, 19-year old minor league LHP Matthew Self, and a 8th round draft pick in return.

Sunday, February 2nd, 2302
Reports out if Vault 81 is that they have given up on prospect 2B Bobb County, a former 2nd-round pick in the 2297 Rookie Draft by Starlight. County was later traded to the Dwellers for SP Front Porch Potter, considered at that time to be a top pitcher in the CBO. No word yet if the Dwellers will trade or cut County.

Saturday, February 1st , 2302
Finch Farm Four Leafs: Signed free agent 3B Barton Barth to a minor league contract.

O Salem Can You See?

With a three-game losing streak to end the 2301 season, the Salem Witch Hats went from pencilled in to the 2301 playoffs to out. It would have been their first trip to the postseason, but they blew it in the end.

Now, in anticipation for the 2302 season, the Hats believe their pitching can match up against any other team, including league rival and defending CBO champs, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys.

"We've got the best pitching in the league, no doubt," manager Proper Lighthouse said.

BNN currently disagrees, but Salem is up there. According to BNN, the top CBO staffs are the Party Boys, Fort Hagen, and Jamaica Plain. The Witch Hats are 4th.

With the starting rotation of Tony Bertha (11-10, 2.64 in 2301), Ugio Church (10-9, 4.22), Terrence Artman (10-10, 3.09), and Josh Hugs (12-11, 2.63), the Hats will be tough to score runs on in 2302, which makes us think they are the most likely of teams to earn one of the three wildcard spots.

Where they need vast improvement to be a championship contender lies in the offense, which finished 11th overall in the North Charles Association in 2301. They lack two important factors: getting men on base and then knocking them in with big hits. No returning player hit over .300 (2B Dan Ackerman led with a .279 average) and only one returning player hit more than 10 home runs (17 by RF Chris Treestump). LF Danny Honeycutt, announced as a trade to Goodneighbor today, led the team overall offensively with a .301/17/51 line.

In the end, we currently think Salem will improve slightly offensively with fewer players struggling over the course of the season. We're not sure what PAM will think, but if we had to hedge our bets right now, we would have Salem as the 4th seed. Here are our early playoff predictions in the NCA for 2302.

1. Nordhagen Beach
2. Fort Hagen
3. County Crossing
4. Salem
5. Starlight

I know we still have our favorites, but as I said in the lead up last season, I'm looking forward to the Hats' time to shine.

All eyes on the Hats, Sox, and Chemists. They are the last of the three.

Since the CBO merger, the Ninjas, Yao Guai, Four Leafs, and Synths also need to step it up.

Featured Series: Finch Farm at Goodneighbor (University Point Bracket)

Game 1: Finch Farm 4, Goodneighbor 2

Four Leafs pitcher Trolley Dodge pitched 8.0 innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts. Matt Basile's bases-loaded walk proved to bring in the winning run.

Game 2: Goodneighbor 2, Finch Farm 1, 11 inn.

The squad pitching duel ended in the bottom of the 11th when Burtie Cuttooth's solo home run off Ernie Peacemaker evened the series. Both starting pitchers--the Four Leafs' Isaiah Swindler and the Hancocks' Josh Dude--pitched well, allowing an earned run apiece. Otherwise, seven relief pitchers in nearly 10.0 innings accounted for exactly one run, Cuttooth's homer.

Game 3: Goodneighbor 3, Finch Farm 1

Pitching is the story of the series as the Hancocks' John Oldsink allowed one earned run on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

All three Goodneighbor runs came in the bottom of the 7th. Cuttooth led off with a double off Jesse Fraud. Cuttooth then tied the game 1-1 after advancing on a ground out and a bunt squeeze by Justin Browneye. With one out and Peacemaker in, Good Don Duck hit a two-out, two-RBI single for the 3-1 lead.

Featured Series: The Slog at Nordhagen Beach (Nordhagen Beach Bracket)

Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 2, The Slog 0

Pitching, pitching, pitching. The Slog's batters had few chances as Chet Arthur got the start and pitched 8.1 shutout innings. He allowed four singles and struck out three. Matt Breakball gave up the only extra-base hit in the game, a 9th-inning double by Millioncap Go that could not score the first run. The Ghouls ended the 9th with two runners in scoring position.

The Party Boys scored their first run off The Slog's Gwinnett Southie in the bottom of the 6th. Maxx Murtagh hit a one-out single, followed by a Brian Masterson single to move Murtagh to third. Jonathan Angelou then singled in Murtagh for what proved to be the winning run. Murtagh also scored the second run when Southie threw a wild pitch in the bottom of the 8th. Southie allowed two runs on seven hits--all singles--with four strikeouts in 7.0 innings.

Game 2: The Slog 3, Nordhagen Beach 1

The Slog's Bruce Iddings pitched the masterpiece, allowing one earned run on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts. The one run allowed came on an Angelou solo homer in the 1st inning.

Chris Van Benschoten was 3 for 4 with a double, a home run, one runs scored, and two RBI. In the top of the 2nd, he came up to bat with two runners on and no outs. After a Matt Ranger passed ball scored Lernz Tentsleep, Van Benschoten then doubled in Boots Yellowhair for a 2-0 lead. Van Benschoten's homer came in the 7th.

Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 3, The Slog 2

Again, neither team's offense could solve the pitching. This time, the Boys' Beachboy Nut took the mound, allowing one earned run on two hits with two walks and 10 strikeouts in 7.0 innings. Van Benschoten proved to be the series MVP despite his team losing the series. He hit a solo home run in the 2nd off Nut.

Nordhagen Beach earned all of its runs in the first two innings off The Slog starter Dan Dozier. In the bottom of the 1st, the Boys took a 1-0 lead. Murtagh and Masterson started the inning off with singles. Later, with the bases loaded, Michael Fogcrawler hit a sacrifice fly to score Murtagh. In the bottom of the 2nd, the Party Boys took the lead for good. Jon Hitman led off with a single. With two outs, Murtagh went yard against Dozier, making it 3-1.

March 2302 - News and Notes

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

3 March 2302

2302 Nuka Cola Cup Off to Great Start

The 2302 Nuka Cola Cup is a huge success with the expanded schedule. All 24 CBO teams are currently playing (no spoilers until our posting later today) with the tournament currently in the first "Elimination Round." Eight of the teams will be eliminated from the tournament by the end of the day today. Those eight teams will return to their home facilities where they will have whole franchise practices. The remaining 16 teams will continue on to see who will win this year's Nuka Cola Cup. Last year that crown went to Nordhagen Beach, which went on to win the Sole Survivor Series in a banner year for the Party Boys.

Commonwealth Baseball Ready for "Baby Boomers"

The CBO's youth baseball leagues are preparing themselves for a new crop of homegrown baseball players. Nate Howard has labeled the group the "Baby Boomers." A baby boom is typical of a post-war time when returning soldiers tend to start families. In the Commonwealth, that started in 2287 with the first groups of settlements finding many pregnant women and lower infant mortality rates thanks to Institute medical technology.

"In 2303, we'll have a large number of children of age to play ball," Howard said. "We'll have a really good group coming in. There are a few coming up in 2287, though they are not my fault!" Howard was referring to the purges and unification of the Commonwealth. Many "baby boomer" children were starting to be born in mid-2288 and continued for a number of years before the numbers started to slow down.

"If you thought we had a lot of talent before from the new settlers, wait until you see what our Boston boys can do," Howard exclaimed.

News and Notes

Monday, March 3rd, 2302
Speculation abounds for why Macaw Lee Calkins was sent to Maine. The minor league 1B spent a lot of time during the offseason visiting Party Boys owner Emogene Cabot when she was home alone. Some around the franchise speculate that Calkins was too focused on becoming richly rich and spent time with Cabot as a way of advancing his own position.
One anonymous scout stated, "I mean, he is a party monster. Even my girl wasn't safe around him. He pisses me off, and I hope he stays in Maine. Let him go play for Uncle Buck Quevedo in Echo Lake, or something."

Nuka Cup Commentary: Is the CBO in Repeat Mode?

The traditional annual CBO preseason tournaments have not always been great predictors of regular season success. Yes, last season the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys won the Nuka Cup and went on to win the Sole Survivor Series. Yet, the team they beat in the finals, the Sunshine Tidings Chemists, went on to a miserable 40-68 season.

But this Nuka Cup feels different. With four rounds behind us, this is true. All four host teams are still in the Winners Bracket, meaning all will be in their bracket finals and have the advantage of being at home and being up 1-0 in the first team to three wins bracket championships. All four hosts represent the 2301 playoffs' final four teams, thus the honor of hosting.

Beyond the #1 seeds of each bracket, all #2 seeds were also 2301 playoff teams. All four #2 seeds--Fort Hagen, Diamond City, Vault 81, and Concord--are still alive. For #3 seeds, 2301 playoff participants, the Starlight Lady Killers, are also still alive. That means, of the remaining 12 teams in the 2302 Nuka Cup, 9 of the 10 2301 playoff teams are in that number, with Jamaica Plain being the only team to bow out. The Red Rockets were eliminated by the Silver Shroud.

The only teams with a thrill left are down to three in the underdog role. The most curious is that Sunshine Tidings as a 6th seed is in the top half again. They probably will not get past both Fort Hagen and the Atom Cats, but they are fun to watch in March. Roxbury is also a 6th-seed, still alive in the County Crossing Bracket, and Goodneighbor as a #3 in the University Point Bracket makes it the last of the final 12.

The brackets are below, but here is a breakdown of seeds remaining in the 2302 Nuka Cup Tournament:
1 - 4 teams (Atom, County Crossing, Nordhagen Beach, University Point)
2 - 4 teams (Concord, Diamond City, Fort Hagen, Vault 81)
3 - 2 teams (Goodneighbor, Starlight)
4 - 0 teams
5 - 0 teams
6 - 2 teams (Roxbury, Sunshine Tidings)

2302 Season Pass Preseason Tournament, brought to you by Nuka-Cola and Vim!

via Press Releases

The 2302 Season Pass season will see its first pitch on Saturday, March 8, when the first four games of the preseason tournament are played in stadiums around Nuka-World. Both Nuka World League and Vim! League teams are in Nuka-World for all of the festivities with all 18 clubs splitting proceeds.

The first day's games will feature Grand Hotel vs Echo Lake at 12 PM at Quartz's Star Core Stadium at the Galactic Zone. The second game of the day there will be at 6 PM when Wild takes on Cranberry Island.

In other first day action, there will be games at 3 PM and 9 PM at Quantum's World of Refreshment Field. In the first game there, Eden Meadows will take on Quartz. In the closing game, Cherry will face Brooke's Head.

On Day 2, there will also be games split between four times in two stadiums. Games 1 and 3 of the day both happen at Cherry's Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park at 12 PM and 6 PM. The 12 PM game will be Acadia versus Victory, and the 6 PM game will be National Park versus Orange.

The other host on Day 2 is Wild's Angry Anaconda Field at Safari Adventure. At 3 PM, Rayburn Point will take on Dark, and at 9 PM, Quantum will meet Dalton Farm.

The top two seeds in the tournament, 2301 Season Pass Series participants the Grape Pained Ghouls and the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales, will ghoulishly await their first matchups on Day 3 from the Echo Lake-Grand Hotel and Quartz-Eden Meadows matchups, respectively. Grape's first game will be played at Dark's Ol' Sugartop Ballpark at Dry Rock Gulch, and the Ghoul Whales' game will be played at Victory's John-Caleb Bradberton Honorary Field.

Unlike the CBO's Nuka Cup Tournament, teams do not play a three-game series but a best of one each round in the double-elimination tournament. All teams are seeded 1-8 from their 2301 playoffs and regular season finishes accounted for. The two first-round matchups are based on position 8 of the NWL and 8-10 in the VL.

Full Winners' Bracket below.

I always really enjoy the preseason tournaments. Something that I imagine real baseball players would never agree to, they love their rest, but OOTP players have no choice! It's kind of like the side tournaments in soccer, and they always have surprise teams and generally really good games towards the end.

In the land of Fallout, I figure most of them enjoy playing baseball a lot more than fending off deathclaws! I like doing the tournaments, too, mostly to see the brackets move.
