I couldn't tell you how to, except getting rid of it. It's majorly large and annoying (and not just because I'm a Red Sox fan).
Oh, and Go Braves! |

Thanks for clearing that up, Matt.
Call him Harold before you call him William, definitely. Anyway, good to see that Perry is looking good in AAA; not spectacular, but good. Pittsburgh looks to be a pretty good contender this year as well, hopefully they can stick with it and stay near the top. |

WEB PAGES UPDATED...
May 1947 Washington went 9-6 to finish the month of May, and that was enough to increase their lead to 2.5 games. The Browns are now in 2nd place, a half-game ahead of the White Sox. Chicago lost pitcher Earl Boyd for the season with a shoulder injury. He was just 3-7 but had a solid 3.33 ERA. Taking his spot in the rotation on May 30th was Johnny Gordley, who allowed just 2 runs off 3 hits in 8 innings against the A's. Brooklyn has moved back ahead of the Phillies as these two teams continue to duel atop the NL standings. So far, Philadelphia leads the season series with the Dodgers 5-4, but that has not stopped Brooklyn from holding a 1-game lead. Many around the league are still surprised at the way the Dodgers offense has performed, scoring the 4th most runs in the majors. Second baseman Mike Fellner has been a huge key, hitting .268 with a team-leading 11 homeruns and 45 RBI. During the war years, many people claimed that Fellner's success would be short-lived, but he is proving them wrong. Everyone knew Brooklyn's top two pitchers were the best in the game today, but their rotation has gotten a huge boost from #4 man Monty Rottier, who is 7-2 with a 3.18 ERA. A former top prospect acquired from the Reds in 1934, Rottier suffered several injuries over his minor league career that seemed to derail his progress. He then spent two years in the Army before returning last season and putting up solid numbers. On May 18 in Detroit, the Indians and Al Jackson attracted a crowd of 52,416 - a single game paid attendance record at Tiger Stadium. Worth noting is the fact that Giants shortstop Tom Howard is becoming a superstar in the NL, proving that playing the shortstop position does not have to include only defense. Howard currently leads the NL in batting average and RBI, and he is 3rd in homeruns. No player in major league history has ever captured this "Triple Crown" of batting in a single season. Howard has as good a chance as anyone has had in recent memory. American League-Pitcher of the Month: Cotton Simson (SLA)! He had a record of 6-0 in 7 games started, with an ERA of 1.60. American League-Batter of the Month: Peaches Badeau (PHA)! He batted .446 in 101 AB, with 2 homers and 14 RBI. National League-Pitcher of the Month: John Nolting (PHI)! He had a record of 5-2 in 8 games started, with an ERA of 1.96. National League-Batter of the Month: Tom Howard (NYG)! He batted .404 in 104 AB, with 5 homers and 26 RBI. Code:

This ended up being a terrible month for us. Vic Gorin didn't manage even one single win this month and now we've lost Andrew (our hottest starter this year) for all of June and probably a chunk of July as well. Our clean-up guy Ormiston went into a tail spin again. He's sure been inconsistent for a player rated "Consistency - Good". I'll be having to make some roster moves and depth chart changes to try and turn this thing around.

![]() Perry's putting up nice numbers at AAA, especially for his first season. With the Pirates' lineup old enough to take the field using walkers, I'd anticipate seeing Harold in the majors next year with a good spring training. I'd like to see his contact rating go up just a smidge before I promote him, but we'll see what happens.

Tom Howard has also won both player of the month awards this season. A huge bright spot in an otherwise uninspiring season for the Giants.

Morris, FINALLY, got his contact up to his talent level, and his average rose 20 points in 2 weeks. Maybe he is can really become elite.

Looks like Ervin's shot for 3000 has diminished. He's hurt for the whole season after breaking his wrist trying to make a catch. He was on the rise after having a dismal .250 average. Before he got hurt he was batting .270. Now it's time to cheer his team on, on the bench or at home. What a sad day for the Phillies(here comes the downfall).

June 15, 1947
The Senators started June by going 8-6, but with other teams struggling, that was once again good enough to expand their lead now to 3.5 games. Cleveland went 10-3 and have jumped from 5th to 2nd, ahead of the struggling Browns and White Sox. Brooklyn went 7-7 but expanded their lead too with the Phillies going a terrible 4-10 and falling to 4th place. The Pirates went 8-6 and are now in 2nd place, 2.5 games back. The Braves may finally be heating up, going 11-3 so far after a solid end to May. They may have buried themselves in too big a hole to get back into contention, but this is definitely a team that no one wants to face right now. On June 3rd, A's pitcher Jeronimo Arsenault threw a no-hitter against a disappointing Senators offense. This was the 1st no-hitter in the major leagues in just over a year, but the 1st no-hitter in the AL since Boston's Sloppy Mosich tossed one in 1943. Between those two games, 5 no-hitters have been thrown in the NL - three of them by Cardinals pitchers. Interstingly enough, two of those Cardinals no-hitters were thrown by Vic Gorin, who now pitches in the AL with Detroit. Code:

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!
Excellent half-month for the Braves, as they are kicking ass and taking names. And it's still early. I'm not saying we are going to the post season, but if we can get 9-11 wins every sim from here on out, then that'll make everyone a little scared. And now with another bat in the lineup, we are just that much more dangerous. You thought our pitching scared you? Wait til you see you us again. |

Ugh....I was hoping to break .500 this sim, since I was at 26-27 prior to today, but a 4-10 run dashed those hopes.
C'est la vie. At least my trade went through

![]() He just won't come back from that injury to be useful to us I stared at the game log for about 5 minutes and KNEW it was the begiinnign of the end...Ervin has won 15 games for us...at least. You'll be happy to know that the catch he broke his wrist on...was a game winning catch. I have to do a big news story on him...unless you want to?
