The Penn-Texas A&M game is now officially interesting.

With the first seven games having the higher seed win(assuming A+M hold on), I think the odds would be favoring an upset in the last game of the afternoon action(#11 G.W. vs #6 Vandy).

Dola,

I REALLY need Vandy. My record so far is crap but I haven't lost any of my sweet 16 teams yet. *knocks on wood*

These afternoon games have pretty much sucked IMO. Not much good basketball being played. 2 of the games are blowouts and the one that's really close is painful to watch.

I agree with everything you said here.

1) I NEED Vandy to win, and then beat Washington State. Here's to that!

2) Not too impressed with the games today. I'm mostly in it for exciting finishes, and I don't think we've had one today.

A&M up 10.

I was really hoping Penn would pull this one out, only because Scoop Jackson said the following about Acie Law (not that Scoop Jackson has a whole lot of cred):

Quote:
One shining moment? Acie Law has the ability to have four. Bracketologists, don't say you weren't warned. Greg Oden ain't the one in the South region who will make the difference in this tournament; it's the assassin from Dallas who could own college ball in the next three weeks. The one player who can win the entire tournament by himself.

Before Durant was named the conference's Player of the Year, a friend of mine posed the ultimate question: Can you win national Player of the Year when you aren't the Player of the Year in your conference?
I know sportswriters need fresh angles, but this is just too much.

Yep, all the favorites have won and I don't think one of them has been in doubt in the final few minutes.

Maybe that's why I'm only 3-4 so far, all the favorites usually don't win.

Yeah that's over the top. Acie Law is awesome and ridiculously clutch but Durant was by far the best player in that conference. It's not even a discussion. Law is one of those great college players that probably won't do much in the NBA.

I am 5-1, and likely to be 6-1 with the A&M victory. If Bobby Knight didn't coach Tech, I would be 7-0, but I was caught up in his presence on the Tech sideline.

Eh, not really. I'm trying to think of a good comparison. Dixon was a big time shooter, Law is a slasher. I actually think Law could turn into a decent NBA player just not a great one. The reason for this, is that Law's major weakness is his jump shot which is really about the easiest possible basketball skill to improve.

The best I can come up with is Chris Duhon. Law is a bit better at attacking the rim though.

Sad to know picking the higher seed would net you a perfect record right now. One day I'll try that...

And marc, let's start a Vandy for Sweet 16 fan site.
