I don't want to take up space, but this missing photo thread is wonderful! I've been looking for pictures of these guys for decades! Without an image of a fighter in your noggin, it takes so much away from your fight replay. I play baseball and hockey board games as well, and I want a picture of EVERYONE in those, but it's even more crucial in boxing, where it's all about the one guy out there tossing leather. Sure, it's nice to imagine, but when you see a photo of a guy you'd use in fights, and he looks entirely different than you had imagined, you realize that your imagination was lying the whole time. Thanks everybody!

Steamboat,
If you have not done so already, check out the Title Belt photo thread. Like a line from the movie Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid,...."How do those guys do that??!!" (something like that...hehe) |

And now, the tournament to end all tournaments! A White Hope palooka tournament, including only fighters that I STILL don't have a picture of. For obvious reasons, they will fight with masks on, as the "Masked Marvel", Bob Williams, actually did, and who just happens to one of the contestants. Charley Miller(S.F.) is the heavy early favorite, and coincidently, he also weighs the most, at 227.
Help me eliminate some of these guys, by unmasking them. I need a smaller tournament, eventually down to no one. Here they are: Fred McKay Sailor White Jack McFarland Bob Williams(MM)..actually he was a masked punching bag Soldier Delaney Charley Miller Tim Logan Sailor Fred Fritts Dan Daily Thanks again for everyone's help on the other guys. |

Jo-el Scott HW
eavyweight prospect Jo-El Scott was found guilty Thursday of sexually abusing and beating to death a disabled woman in a city park while in an alcohol and cocaine haze last year.
The 33-year-old Scott was convicted by a jury of first-degree murder in the June 11 killing of Dorothy Royal in Albany's Lincoln Park. He faces life in prison. "Sometimes, things are exactly what they appear to be, and that is the case here," Assistant District Attorney David Rossi told jurors in his summation. Scott, who last boxed almost a year earlier in an eight-round TKO loss, knocked out 19 big men as a pro, and used "hands like anvils" to break bones in the 59-year-old woman's face and cause brain damage while strangling her, Rossi said. The prosecutor said everybody knew the boxer in the South End neighborhood, and Scott was deliberately killing the only witness to the rape. Scott testified Wednesday that he walked into the park after a night of drinking and cocaine and saw two men beating Royal and began struggling with them. But police, who were answering a passerby's 911 call, said they saw Scott stand up near the body when they drove up, tackled and arrested him. Royal used a cane and collected cans in a cart. She wore a rubber glove on one hand, which ended up with a bloody palm print on it. Scott had her blood on him, but State Police testing showed it was not Scott's palm print. "The perpetrator left his mark in blood," defense attorney Peter Lynch said. "It was not left by Jo-El Scott." The prosecutor countered that it was probably Royal's own palm print, though her prints hadn't been taken during the autopsy to verify that. One witness testified she saw a man repeatedly punching someone on the ground and called 911. Another said he saw a man having sex with someone in the park. They could not say for sure whether it was Scott. A police officer, however, said he saw Scott pulling up his pants. Semen was found in his shorts. The defense lawyer said none of Scott's semen was found on Royal, that his client typically wore his pants low, and several statements by Albany police about Scott's allegedly incriminating comments were some of the "bad evidence" collected. He said police thought they had their high-profile suspect and never looked any further. The 1993 national amateur super heavyweight champion was on a path up the professional ranks when other criminal problems first derailed his career. Scott served four years in prison for pleading guilty to trying to forcibly rape a 12-year-old and having sex with three underage girls in 1996. He also admitted leaving the scene of an accident that critically injured a 12-year-old boy. His professional record is 20-2. (© MMV Infinity Broadcasting Corp. All Rights Reserved.
