Mark Studevan

In James Riley's BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE NEGRO LEAGUES, he lists a Mark Sturdeven who "was a player with Hilldale in 1916 .. . and later served as treasurer of the ballclub in 1928." I'm sure this fellow labelled as Mark Studevan is the same man. The author who used this spelling of the man's name wrote a book on the Hilldale team, so my inclination is to think he is the one who would know.

Lloyd Thompson

Lloyd Thompson, OF/SS, is shown in the Hilldale uniform. I think this is the same Lloyd P. Thompson who became an officer of Hilldale during the 1922-32 period.

Louis Burgee

Louis Burgee, P/2B, is shown in the Hilldale uniform. The photo of Louis previously posted on this thread showed him in an unidentified uniform. I now think that previous photo was a head shot that came from this same photo.

William Fuller

William Fuller, 2B, is shown in the Hilldale uniform. This player was listed as W. W. "Chick" Fuller, 2B/SS, a player with a bunch of Negro League teams from 1908 to 1919 in Riley's Encyclopedia and in the Negro Baseball Register by Clark and Lester. Seamheads.com has updated the record to call him simply William Fuller, and list him with multiple teams for 1917 and Hilldale only for 1918. The commonality is that they all agree he played for Hilldale in 1918.

Tom Jenkins

Tom Jenkins is shown in the Hilldale uniform. According to the Negro Baseball Register, by Clark and Lester, Tom was a player with Hilldale in 1916 and 1917, and then in 1928 he returned to become the treasurer of the Hilldale club.

Steel Arm Johnny Taylor

Jonathan "Steel Arm Johnny" Taylor, P, is shown in the Indianapolis ABCs uniform. This is a much clearer view of Steel Arm Johnny than the one I posted previously, which had him with the St. Paul Gophers.
