I definitely think the Idea has merit. Another option might be to use a power point system, similar to what we use here in Arizona for High School Football.
An example of how it would work in the League would be you get 20 points per team win, plus 5 points for the number of team wins the teams on your schedule have each week, which also rewards strength of schedule. I know I am over complicating things now I do agree team wins should be rewarded in some fashion though. |

I personally like the current system. I look at it not so much as a team effort but as individual efforts put into a team perspective. It's about each and every fight, and each and every fight counts the same. A team that hangs tough every match can stay in the playoff hunt to the end.

2nd round of waivers are now closed. No claims this round.
3rd waiver round is now open and will close on January 21 @ 10 PM CST. I'm still working on updating the rosters for the first two pages of this thread.

Im not sure that it is needed. We are using the method we are using for the very reason it was picked in the first place. Too add importance to each individual matchup.
If we wanted to reward teams wins we might as well just use w/l record to determine the playoffs.(Which Id be perfectly fine with but will leave a lot of unimportant individual bouts) So I guess what Im saying is that I dont think the change would make any difference in standings so it is not needed. |

I agree that there isn't a need for a change in the way we do our standings. The way we do it now works really well. Plus, I like the fact that we can get situations like what we got going in the Mendoza division right now.

I agree, even though I'd presently benefit from the suggested change. I voted to keep the scoring sstem as it is.

Did I miss a vote, or is it still ongoing?

Not a recent one. Goes back to when we were kicking the idea around a while ago. Don't know if there was a vote or just a majority of viewpoints.

3rd round of waivers closed yesterday.
Waiver claims: Toronto Tornados claim HW (5)Harold Carter 0-0-0 (0) *beginning and release HW (7)Gerry Cooney 3-10-1 (2) *pre-prime Week 9 will start hopefully tomorrow evening. Due to all that is going on for me right now, I have a feeling this will be a slow week for the bouts. Sorry for the slow down down this week but I'll run and post as many as I can when I have the chances. |

Scot, you need to stop appologizing. Work is work and real life is...well, real life. This is only a game. You are doing a fine job with the league.

Scot, take all the time you need, as I'm not looking forward to the outcome of my match-up.

No worries and no need to apologize, we all understand that sometimes real life is going to slow down the UTBA no biggie.

Every now and then a blurred line between real and game is a welcomed distraction!
