Here is a list I put together of people that played for the Cardinals that are missing Topps cards. I know they make them a year ahead except for the traded and update sets
if the year is 2013 that means the player played in 2013 and did not have a card if it says RC that mean the player debuted in that year (was a first-year player...not necessarily the year they lost rookie status or their topps rookie year...confusing.( adam wainwright rc is 2000 topps, debut rc is 2005) some of these have positions (most games played at) 1986-2013 1986 greg bargar joe boever ray Kelvin Chapman - Mets 1979 Request
Looking for a color pic of 2b Kelvin Chapman while suiting up in initial season with the Mets....I have located several pics of him later in the mid 80s with the blue tops on. I am looking for him in either the white pinstripes or the grays.

The badly lit one, is one of mine. The other is from the 1979 Mets' yearbook I believe. Both are sartorially correct...

Gary Beare? '76-'77 Brewers - Confirmation Needed
I want this just released image by Topps Vault to be pitcher Gary Beare who pitched two years for the Brewers. However my eyes are influenced by wanting to check another whale off my list.
Based on: 1) the placement in the folder with other 'Bs" 2) What appears to be "B..E..A.." on the tongue of his cleat 3) He wore #31 when he came up, and there is at least a noticeable '3' on his jersey in one photo. That's Beamon, that's Beare, and -- as evidenced by one of my own from his Detroit time in 1979 with most of his name showing -- that's Eddy Putman.

Chris Batton 1976
Hidden in there in the Topps Vault post for today, Chris Batton, whose pitching career with the '76 A's spanned exactly 19 batters (three walks, three singles, a double, a homer).
He was the second part of the six-for-three trade the depleted A's made during spring training 1977, going with Phil Garner and Tommy Helms for Doc Medich and what proved to be a truly good batch of prospects (Tony Armas, Doug Bair, Rick Langford, and Mitchell Page). |
