Next Series: Atlanta Rebels

2 games vs Rebels.
We are 2-0 vs Atlanta this season.
The Rebels are clearly in rebuild mode after trading away everyone that they can unload. David Justice is their only quality hitter left.

Good Guys Were Black: Sox Weekly

14-13 this month. Since The Rock went down we have struggled to hit. No one except Altott has swung the bat well.
SP Henry Porter is off of the 60 Day DL and is on a rehab assignment. I do not expect him to be much of a factor for us. He will pitch out of the pen.Trading for Slash gives us a much needed bat until The Rock comes back but he is also DtD with a Wrist injury.DeWitt Johnson will play for us this year as well. He gives us a good defensive option who can hit a bit. Both Osborne & One Dog have struggled.

We have 7 games vs Milwaukee in August. With the way we have been hitting, things could get interesting. On the positive side, Milwaukee traded away 1B Roland Babbel who hit very well vs us but they gained a front line SP in Owen Roberson.

Other than Altott everyone else struggled at the plate. The rotation was great as was Schultz. The pen struggled. Tim Patterson has only thrown out 12.3 % of runners this season.

Aces CF Daryl Nolan has a 5 Hit game.
Royals PH Tom Haynes hits his 500th HR cementing his place in Cooperstown.
Gators SP Hector Jaramillo wins his 200th game. With 6 MCA awards, and most likely a 7th after this season he is easily a 1dt ballot HOFer.

3 games vs Brewers.
We are 4-3 vs Milwaukee this season.
Big 3 game series vs Brewers. Seems every series vs them are big at this point in the season. If we continue to play badly I will name Joe Torre MGR for the rest of the season so I can concentrate on pitching and GM duties.

Good Guys Were Black: Sox Weekly

2-2 this week but a key 2 for 3 series win over Milwaukee.
We have a fairly easy week with a 4 game series @ last place Detroit and a 3 game series @ Toronto. Just looking for the offense to wake up a bit more. We had a key walk off win vs Milwaukee in the last game.

4 games @ Detroit.
We are 8-4 vs Detroit this season.
While the Tigers have some good young ML talent they have the 29th best minor league system. If they plan on competing next season, they will have to be a major player in the Free Agent market.
