The name Johnny Famazson ( wrong spelling) also comes to mind from that era Boxrec is again playing up so i cant check him out on that.

Maybe he was a FW or LW ? not MW or up pretty sure on that one.

Roy Ankrah was a Ghanaian featherweight-lightweight who fought from 1941-1959 (with a hiatis from 1955-1958). He was born in Accra, December 25, 1925. He started his career as a flyweight and ended his career as a lightweight. According to The Ring he was unbeaten from 1941-1949 (110 fights). He successfully won African Gold Coast flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight and welterweight titles. He was considered a monster in the ring. He won the British Empire fetherweight title against Ronnie Clayton in London on April 30, 1951 and held it until October 2, 1954. Nat Fleischer was very high on Roy. After defeating Clayton, Fleischer wrote, "Roy is a whirlwind. He doesn't seem to possess a heavy wallop, but he exhausts the opposition by a tireless, steady bombardment. Clayton tried everything. He tried to box, to stand up and face his rival, to mix-it , but couldn't get set, so fast was the Ankarah attack. He is a reminder of Henry Armstrong. It wasn't a boxing match - just a tear-in, fist-tossing mill in which the fighter from Africa's Gold Coast came through in flying colors."

Sorry if a few of the cornerwork fighters made it into a regular update. I have nearly 3,000 photos now, and it's hard to keep track of which is in which database without switching or running 2 copies of TBCB at once. My apologies from a lazy man to those that don't want the non-stock photos.

Acctualy, I just want the file if you have one Cube and absolutely no appologies needed.

Managing those pic files does get difficult, I have nearly 4,000 (probably about 3800 if you dicount alternate photos). I spent a lot of time organizing them so I am very cautious when making additions and changes. I NEVER want to crawl through each and every one again. That's one of those things you put in the rear view mirror for good once you go through it.

Thanks again, I am enjoying going through the packs that you supplied.

Cube:

I have been through both new packs and lost count of all the new ones that you had for me. Thank you! Truely a great effort.

I was missing some files and posted them in the other thread, I suspect they are all burried at cornerwork and will turn up eventualy. I did however find four guys that I am unfamiliar with and could not turn up in any search. Any help would be greatly appreciated, however you have certainly done enough already

The four are:

Rossi, Gianfranco
Prince, Mark
Frank, Scott
Davis, Johnny

Thanks again, absolutely great photo packs!

Scott Frank, mediocre caucasian HW who got a shot at Larry Holmes based mainly on draw with Renaldo Snipes and a couple of later wins. Was unbeaten when Holmes demolished him in 5 ugly.

Is the other man Johnny Famechon of the Famechon clan. He began his career in Australia but his relatives were fighting on the continent in the 40s and 50s?

Almost 8 months later, Update 13 is here! First timers include Dan Daily, Ike Weir, Ad Warren, Tiger Jack Payne, Kid Beebe and Jim McDonald. Improved shots of Boots Monroe, Bobby Chacon, Don Jordan, Johnny Arthur, Bert Colima and Billy Peacock. Grab it, or the entire Cubephotos collection, as an executable now setup for TB2, at

I just decided to release what I had collated. Almost 2600 photos still to go through. Expect another update in 2 weeks. The extremely prolific Conn Chris and Romultiltis have buried me!
