Hey guys,
This season has been very different from last season. Last year the Juveniles dominated the year by winning over 100 games. This season however, all the teams are very close together record-wise with the preseason favorite, Storm (23-17) leading the way followed closely by the returing champs Juves (22-18) then the Felons (19-21) and the Jailblazers (16-24) to round it off. Many of you might remember the season-ending injury that happend to Storm's starting SS-bigwillis last season which might have contributed to Storm's diadvantage in the GFBL Finals. Well.......it happened again. Once again, Bigwillis will be out for the rest of the year with a torn back muscle. This injury will definily hurt his career as Storm held back on giving him a contract this season and now that he reinjured himself, bigwillis will most likely be packing and play else where next season. He only played 24 games this season with a .247 average and 6 HR and 16 RBI's which is significantly better than his last season stats in 113 games. It is very unfortunate that this has happened, especially to someone who has just been through this just a month ago. The Storm will look to cwdorman to play out of position. Look for the bigwillis-metskid controversy to surface once again. ![]() Congratulations to Quagmire and matt221334 for winning the first players of the month in 2004: Thursday 5/1/2004: Red hot Quagmire wins Pitcher of the Month award Felons' Q Quagmire had a terrific April, and it earned him the GFBL Pitcher of the month award. He had an ERA of just 1.85 in 39 innings of work in which he struck out 20 hitters. His record in April is 4-0. Thursday 5/1/2004: Red hot matt221334 wins Batter of the Month award The GFBL Batter of the Month award goes to m matt221334, Juveniles' starting catcher. He had an on base percentage of .459 and hit .375, while driving in 33 runs. To finish off the sim summary, the Felons went 2-0 against their franchise rival Jailblazers this sim, with one game being a shut out pitched by Quagmire. Box Score Here That is all. Next sim is Wednesday at midnight. You might have to hold ctrl and click refresh to see the updates on the website. Enjoy.

Hey guys,
Once again I have moved the server for the league site. There is now no more need for refreshing every page or open in new window. I can also now allow export to ftp if the GM's wish to do that. Just let me know if anyone wants to do exports that way instead. The url is still the same, just the server is changed. In case anyone doesn't know the url, it's http://www.gfbl.tk/ Enjoy!! ![]() Paul Last edited by Cuss16; 10-28-2003 at 03:19 AM. |

I like the new site. It's a little slower than the last server, but I'm glad I don't have to open a new window and hit ctrl+refresh every time I go to a new page.

It's become a habit.
![]() I just went to my team page to work on lineups, and hit Ctrl+Refresh. Then I noticed everything was the same, and finally realized we have a different server. |

The Storm has pulled away in this sim and has now built a 8 game lead on the "all mighty" Juves. Storm's rookie sensation, TimJohnson is one of the biggest reason behind Storm's early lead. He is pitching great with a 1.86 ERA and a 7-3 record. As a team, the Storm is leading the league with a 3.38 ERA. However the Storm is also the league worst offensive team with a league worst - .243 average. It all balances out though as the Storm looks to cruise past everybody this season like what the Juveniles did in 2003.
Newly acquired rookie, Agent1 (Gabe) is pitching like an ace that he is. In 3 games that he pitched, he has allowed only 8 runs, composing a 3.00 ERA and a 3-0 record for the struggling blazers. Many thought that Gabe was over-paid, but so far he has proven everyone wrong with his execellent early perfomance. Sportkrazy of the Felons has maintained a great average while driving everyone home for the Felons. He is currently batting .410 with 15 HR and 41 RBI's, on pace to top his last season's .337 21 HR and 93 RBI's. He is definitely playing like crazy. ;D Still the Felons are not winning. They have fallen to 10 games behind the leader and 3 games out of the playoff spot in this last sim. The team is solely based on one player and if the Felons want anything to do with the GFBL Finals, someone else will have to step up. One major injury to report this sim: JUV: dbacks was injured while running the bases. Diagnosis: Inflamed Groin Muscle. He is day-to-day, but full recovery will take 4 weeks. That's all for this sim. Next sim will be on Saturday at midnight.

No, no I don't. If I get 100, I get a $500,000 bonus!!!
FYI - I also get a $250,000 bonus if I get 50, but that won't be a problem. |

Awsome sim today. The Felons played a great sim to pass the mighty returning champs, Juveniles, and move into second place, while the Juves also dropping down under the up-and -coming Jailblazers. The Juveniles have been playing horrible baseball. Star catcher-matt221334 is the only one playing acceptable on this lineup batting .316 with 17 HR and 51 RBI's. No one else on this lineup is batting over .300 except for Jermanfu. The pitching staff is also playing under their potential. Only one starter (truthserum) is pitching with a ERA lower than 4. The team as a whole is second worst in batting average and last in pitching ERA. With a record of 29-36, this team will need to turn it around in a hurry if they expect to defend thier title this coming October.
The red hot Felons on the other hand is doing just fine. With the league leading team batting average, several players on this lineup is arising as the league elites. 2 year vets such as RayofHope, Franchiseplayer2k4, combakandsing2me and batboy along side with supstar-sportkrazy, form a dangerous batting lineup that cannot be under-estimated. They dont hit a whole lot of homeruns but all of them are very patient at the plate and all of them plays great "small-ball". They dont need a long homeruns blast to win games, instead they get on base, take walks, lay the bunts and sacrafises for each other. And of course, the great pitching also helps. Only 1 starter on the Felons lineup has an over 4 ERA, Shub. Everyone else has been pitching just great, especially rookie, magnett. In 8 games pitched, magnett has maintained a 1.70 ERA with a 6-1 record!! He will definitely give TimJohnson a run for Rookie of the Year. Another team that's also on the rise is the Jailblazers. The Jailblazers are a funny bunch. In my opinion, the 'blazers are the hardest to figure out. The lineups get juggled so much that no one really has a guranteed starting spot. And no one is truely a star. So far I would have to say that RemDawg, Slant, connor180, attackemu and StLpride0515 has all been MVP's to the team. One thing I can say is that "Go-to-man", konholeyo is definitely playing up to his standards right now. Arguably last season's team MVP is only batting .223 this season with only 3 hoeruns and 20 rbi's. He is probably the only player who has played every singe game of the season for the 'blazers so far. Not only does this team have no star on the batting end, it has no star on the pitching end. Only one player has a under 4 era (dougaiton), and only one has a loss-win differencial of over 2. (Agent1). The whole starting rotation has a 14-18 record while the relievers have a cobined record of 16-10. The current leader, the Storm is just playing good enough to hold up some lead but not running away with it. Lead by a bulked-up RF-Cuss, batting .322 9 hoeruns and 41 RBi's, the rest of the batting is not so pretty, especially with an season-ending injured bigwillis. The team as a whole is batting a league worst .236. But this team has proven that it's the pitching that will win championships. With a league leading pitching ERA (3.65), the Storm has beaten their opponents over 56% of the times. Rookies signed this offseason, MrOpinion and TimJohnson have been extremely effective.both are on pace to be high runners for the cy young and rookie of the year award. Plus the Storm's saver, adventureran, runs will be hard to come by playing against this team. However with only a slim 4-game lead on the Felons, pressure will be playing a factor in this tight playoff race to the finish. A couple of semi-long injuries to report this sim: JUV: Q Qrusher14242 was injured while running the bases. Diagnosis: Fractured Knee. He will be OK in about 5 weeks. JAL: c chicagoblues was injured while pitching. Diagnosis: Strained Back Muscle. He is out for about 3-4 weeks. The league is getting really interesting with all 4 teams with a chance for post season birth and even the ring. Next sim will be Nov 6. See you all on the field.

Ugh... my OBP is only like .290. How will I ever steal bases when I'm only getting on base 29% of the time? Ugh... Ugh... Ugh...
