In 1886 Ed Whiting (whitin001ed-) is listed as playing for Washington but the last time he played in the major league was with Louisville in 1884. In fact the player who was with Washington in 1886 and isn't in the database, at least it failed when I tried to manually import him, is Henry Zeiher (zeiher001whi).
You can read all the research to confirm this here at BBref... Edit: I didn't check the minor league database because even if he was included the simulation results for him in 1886 would be incorrect since he wouldn't have his major league statistics.

Import Ed as of 1886 and then change his bio info for now.

Didn't tought of doing that... only difference is that I had to import him the year before he start his career because his real life stats were included in his simulation career. Thanks!
BTW about that "Retire to become free agent" thing I was telling you about, I checked the players history and it looks like they all retire the year after they unretired. So if it's too much trouble to fix or find the reason why just let this "bug" as is since one season isn't that big of a deal and I'm not sure it worths your time.

Is this not the right place for this? Is this not a bug?

I’d post as a separate thread. This thread is pretty specific to fields in the database needing to be corrected vs sim issues. I’d also note any customization done to the game so someone from OOTPD trying to replicate it has what they need.
I have not seen anyone mention anything similar. In this edition of the game or past ones. That’s why I mentioned saying what, if any, settings are tweaked in the setup. If you give it its own thread, I’m sure someone will try to test to see if it happens to them.

Started a historical sim in 2015. Everything was fine until 2019, first some of the minor league teams were not appearing. Once I added them in, they automatically added the roster with real players (Midland Rockhounds). Then in 2020 all of my top prospects (Corbin Carroll) dropped out of my farm system because of covid and entered free agency where I had to buy them back. Anyone else have this problem?

Is there a way to go into my game and correct issues of players being from a town from the wrong state? (Troy, Michigan when they're actually from Troy, New York, etc.)
I'm asking here because that's kind of what you're dealing with here and I've gotten no answer in the other places I've asked. :/ (This is the last time I try to get an answer for this, I promise.) [I'm also playing OOTP 24. Sorry, but I'm just trying to find a solution.) Last edited by textilemonster; 07-20-2024 at 02:39 PM. |

Now, if Duxbury were not in there, I'd need to start modding files. i've never done that for the cities file. Here is a user that has: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...&postcount=166 Perhaps you could reach out to him if you want to get that detailed into the manual fix. If it were me, and Duxbury wasn't in there, as much as it would hurt, I'd pick Plymouth Mass and call it close enough. Feel free to ask additional questions on this. Sorry, you've had no response to date. Edit: Same deal for OOTP24 as OOTP25

Thanks, but I meant go into the game files or whatever and fix it permanently. I know how to do the thing you're recommending. (If it's what I think it is. It would only fix things for that save and I'd have to do it again next save, right?)
Edit: Looks like it isn't possible yet. Oh well. Last edited by textilemonster; 07-25-2024 at 05:53 PM. |

Historical 2023
Any eta on the fix for Historical 2023
In ootp 25 I'm trying to start a 2023 season. Start menu I click new historical game. Yes challenge mode (problem persists with no challenge mode also) Select modern times, 2023 and career mode on right, next Import real minor leagues, use talent ratings, hold amateur draft. Check both expansion boxes and click next. Leave scouting page unchanged, click next Change trading difficulty towards hard, click next (gm manager role) Watch it load minor league database, import players, etc on the top bar ***Choose a team and it loads up with no minor leagues. Am I missing something to get the minor leagues? |

Found another old ID in the database -- Negro Leaguer Bill Nuttall has an ID in the minor league database of nuttal049bil instead of nuttal000bil (or nuttabi01).

Not sure if this is worth bothering y'all over, but I see that minor leaguer Fred Grumbling (grumbl001fre) is missing his DOB (1859-12-17 per BR).

Because 'Wood' means 'tree'?
Baseball-Reference.com lists George Wood's height as 5'10" (70 inches), but the game is off slightly-- 464 inches (38'8").
Which would give him a massive strike zone, but high enough no one could reach it. |
