I began the 24 season with high marks. Everything went well out of the box and it looked good too. But now can't get past April without frozen > not responding > end task. Hope it gets sorted. Tried the 3D fix posted by Lukas, but....

Thanks to the OOTP team for their response to this.

Was happening to me also pre patch. Since I have downloaded, and installed latest patch I have had no black screen issues.

Add more options to time frame

Any chance you could add options to (Split > Time frame) options for last 7 days, last 14 days and last 28 days?

Thanks

Oh how I miss the days of DSL when I used to come home from work on a Friday afternoon around 5:30, start the game download and some time around 10:30 and midnight the download would finally be complete...........ugh not really

Got the game yesterday and I'm absolutely loving it. I doubt I will ever be a 100% 3D guy, but that yellow ball flight thing is a great addition to the game. I will probably be watching all leagues post season games thanks to that feature. Still use 3D Classic, but as one of the last 2D Classic holdouts I'm getting there. This was the year I told myself I was going to wait till the all-star game sale or even the World Series sale to buy, but once again, I crumbled. Glad I did.

Just a heads up, James McCann should have his salary almost completely retained by Mets, down to 2.5m/year paid by Orioles. He is listed as having to be paid completely by the Orioles in the current version. This will probably be fixed by a live start but just wanted to let others know.

I used 2D classic for years, might give 3D a try once all of the patches go through, that will have the most bugs early on obviously just by the complex nature of it.

I've noticed the AI trading frequency seems to work well except when it gets near or into times where trades are expected to be made. The CPU seems to go into hyper mode during those times.

For example I had my slider set to very low during the season and from April to the end of June I had 14 total trades. In July I had 45 total trades. 11 more trades in November. As of December 13th I've had 20 trades in December pre winter meetings including 3 made on the 13th after I flipped the option to almost never.

After that including winter meetings I had another 5 trades for a total of 25 trades as of December 20th.

In another save I have with the AI trading frequency on normal. Between 3/31/23 and 1/8/24 there were 214 total trades including 96 trades made in July alone. Only 8 of those trades were made on deadline day.

A small sample size for sure, but it does look like the trading is over aggressive.

Challenge Mode?

How do you get into "Challenge Mode" it mentions the top bar on the log in screen to create an account, but I don't see that on the home screen

Love the wood grain on the OOTP Classic theme. @Deja Bru, where you at?

I love this idea. How many times I've said, when constructing a line-up, I would love a rolling time frame; IE, not "Last Month" but "Last 30 days" because I want to see how they are doing recently.

Agreed, I've noticed this too. It seems out of control.

I tell you, one of the things that I missed out on these past three years is the 3D Ballpark Construction Kit! I don't know when this arrived / was improved, but wow, wow, wow. (I sound like my dog when it's treat time. )

Just out of curiosity, I checked on Beloit. It looks like on the team page, they are called the Sky Carp, but the game is still using the Snappers logos and team colors. The game also has the ballpark for Beloit as Harry C. Pohlman Field (their former home) instead of ABC Supply Stadium.

Are there any plans to update teams like Beloit in a future patch?

I would humbly suggest adding this to this thread https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...=345497&page=2

where it is being discussed. Matt has been in that thread and having it all in one place may help find a solution sooner.

Four seasons in

okay here are my impressions 4 seasons in to a franchise
pros
-much better looking ui in my opinion
-game is snappy and much quicker simulating than in years past
-the 15-year contracts are huge considering that is todays modern game
-the financials are more challenging, and this is a plus for me
-trade deadline day is great and has potential to be even better
-international free agency is great for the most part

CONS
-trade reputation is broken continuously getting docked for not responding or declining the stupidest trades iv ever seen in the game
-very bad trade AI(lets trade two of our top prospects for a one-star reliever with a 10-mil contract
-players who haven't played in the majors for multiple years demanding upwards of 5mil a season so could use improvement on contract logic

overall worth the purchase but only because i know the devs will work hard to fix the most glaring of the issues as the year goes on

Just getting started myself, so I'm cuirious.....In what way(s) do you find the financials "more challenging"?

i started this on beta so a good chunk of teams was either in the red or barely in the black when I started which is truer to life of modern-day ball if you don't play as a large market team. I'm playing as Cincinnati, so it is a challenge. Money is much tighter so you can't go out and get all the top free agents. When I started my league in 23 there was 50 mil in budget room starting out with Cincinnati vs when i started my league out with 24 i had 3 mil and had to work on the farm and find the diamonds in the rough to get competitive vs hitting free agents or going after expensive guys in trades. I do know that they modified financials in the latest patches so I do not know how they look now. you will like it though they made a lot of changes you didn't even realize you needed but make the game more enjoyable.
