The St. Louis Cardinals will be sending three players to the All-Star game as members of the National League team.
First baseman Paul Goldschmidt and center fielder Cedric Mullins will be part of the NL's starting lineup. Ryan Helsley has made the team as a relief pitcher.
It is Goldschmidt's seventh trip to the All-Star game and his first as a Cardinal. His previous six coming while he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
This season, Goldschmidt, 35, has played in 89 game and hit .298 with 19 homers, 57 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He has gotten on base at a .418 clip and owns a .533 slugging percentage.
In his first season in St. Louis, Mullins, 28, is going to his second All-Star game. He previously made the game in 2021 while with Baltimore.
This season, Mullins has played in 89 games during which he has hit .271 with nine homers with 45 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He owns a .343 on-base percentage and slugged at a .521 clip.
This is the first All-Star game for the 28-year-old Helsley.
The right-hander has pitched in 28 games, during which he has gone 1-4 with 10 saves and a 2.20 ERA. He has pitched a total of 32.2 innings, during which he struck out 54 and posted a 1.16 WHIP.

The St. Louis Cardinals have had two minor leaguers -- outfielder Jordan Walker and right-handed relief pitcher Freddy Pacheco -- named to the National League roster for the annual Prospects Game.
Both players are members of the AAA Memphis Redbirds.
Walker, 21, has played in 57 games for the Redbirds during which he has hit .208 with 17 homers and 49 RBIs. He has got on base at a .299 clip and is slugging .491.
Walker was drafted by the Cardinals in the first round of the 2020 draft.
Pacheco, 25, has split his season between AA Springfield and Memphis.
He has pitched in 31 games going 3-6 with 14 saves and a 8.32 ERA.
Pacheco is an international free agent signed in 2017.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired right-handed starting pitcher Zach Eflin in exchange for infielder Brendan Donovan and left-handed starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery.
Eflin, 29, has gone 8-3 with a 4.84 ERA in 20 starts in his first season with the Diamondbacks.
He has worked a total of 100.1 innings, during which he has struck out 88 and posted a 1.31 WHIP.
Coming off an impressive rookie season, Donovan has struggled in his second full season in the majors.
The 26-year-old has played in 84 games/76 starts batting just .214 with two homers, 20 RBIs and 36 runs scored.
Acquired from the Yankees at the 2021 All-Star break, Montgomery has had an inconsistent 2022 for St. Louis.
In 18 starts, he has gone 4-9 with a 5.03 ERA. The 30-year-old has pitched 102.0 innings, during which he has struck out 89 and posted a 1.27 WHIP.

The St. Louis Cardinals have recalled shortstop Tim Anderson where he has spent a five-game rehab assignment following an elbow injury.
Anderson, 30, last played for the Cardinals in a 5-3 loss to Milwaukee on June 30.
He has been limited to 60 games/60 starts this season, but has played very well hitting .296 with seven homers, 36, RBIs and 38 runs scored.
Anderson will take the roster spot held by Brendan Donovan who has been traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
