Yeah. Maybe dude is some rival developer or a disgruntled former employee. He’s all over the place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The thread is getting a bit snarky and unprofessional, guys. Let's keep the veiled shots to a minimum, and keep the discussion going. Otherwise, we will have to close it. Thanks!

No, I think his issue with OOTPD is he feels they aren’t realizing their full potential in terms of the core games development. I think he feels they are content on being small, distracted or misfocused by PT, and not willing to take OOTP to a much larger level.
I think he feels Markus had repeatedly said PT was going to be used as a means to re-invest in the core game, and he’s upset that hasn’t happened. I can’t lie, I feel a bit that way also. |

Looks like a lot of "boomers" posting about baseball and not OOTP.
BASEBALL DOES NOT EQUAL OOTP. As a baseball simulator for stats and universe OOTP is great. If you are a GM the game is mediocre at best. Ss a gm I care about 3 things 1. Finances 2. Assets 3. Starting lineup I don't ever play a game out, look at highlights, read box scores or game recaps. Besides trading, waivers, free agency there is nothing for the gm to do. Set budgets? You do it once for 30 seconds when game starts and never touch it again. And on steam page it advertised management and strategy and not just a simulator. The problem is it's just a glorified simulator and nothing more but it is advertised and teased as more. But it's just not. I don't want player interaction except for signings. I'm the GM. I want owner, league, fan, city, personnel interactions. Gm players sim their schedule we don't play it out. Which means if you don't micro your minor leagues and just try to get better players in ever milb there is nothing to do. There is no axe to grind. I bought 5 of the last 6 versions. Either do the management/big picture strategy right or don't attempt it at all. Don't tease us with it. While the community complains for uniforms, pants, stadiums how about give us real actual features that are in real modern games. You all fanboys are trapped in the past. Ootp is a good game for late 90s early 2000s. It's not a good modern game at all. Yes it's the best baseball simulator. If that is good enough for you then fine. It's not for me. Even when the devs replied to me they said they their wish was to improve management. But it hasn't been touched in 6+ versions. Or rolled out simple teases. So don't even say ootp is sold as a 100% simulator when even the devs supposedly wish for management features. But they have failed to deliver in at least 6+ versions. I put my 150 hours into OOTP 23 it was worth the 50 bux. But I only bought it cause of baseball not the actual game of OOTP. If it's good enough for you fan boys and white knights. They GREAT for you. Us GM guys complain every year. The improvements From year to year don't matter. It's 100% the same game play experience. 100% exactly the same strategy and management. Nothing has changed. You fanboys just defend the game no matter what that is why it don't improve. I play mostly INDY games with some triple A premiere titles I've never seen any dev give the we are small and have no resources as much as ootpd. Sorry it's unacceptable in the video game industry. Fanboys will always fanboy even if they are boomers. Well. Peace I'm out. Be back next year to see if any REAL improvements have been made. I severely doubt it'll happen. |

What more do you want from the GUI? In a tycoon/management game, the idea is to present you with as much information as possible without overloading the user. FOF 8 released in 2016 and it's GUI serves its purpose perfectly for the type of game it is trying to be. BBCF released in 2015 does the same: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5...ootball_Eight/ and https://store.steampowered.com/app/3...lege_Football/. The latest DD Baseball (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1...d_Baseball_V9/) released last year and also has the old Windows GUI look to it. OOTP is miles ahead of those games while still presenting the required information. Are you looking for something like Astonishing Baseball's GUI (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1...all_Manager/)? It's sleek yes, but there are a lot more button clicks required to get to the information you seek. FM has a beautiful GUI, I agree; however, behind the pretty graphics the information and performance is a mess. SI has a whole sub-forum dedicated to the UI, which should tell you something. |

We all want OOTP to be as good as it can be. Hopefully some day we'll reach that point for everyone.
