In Historical Mode, with real players:

Please fix the amateur draft. Please put it in June where it belongs rather than during the winter. Please make sure that the draft pool is historically accurate for the given year. Please add an option for players to be drafted in the order that they actually were in real life. Please add an option to include (or not include) players who were drafted but did not sign. Please use Baseball America records to match bonus demands to historically accurate bonus demands. Please do not put players who were signed as amateur free agents (international or otherwise) into the draft pool (unless, of course, they were in fact draft eligible). Please place international amateur free agents into a historically accurate class (July 2nd class).

Almost all of this data is available to be mined on BRef. It's exhausting to do so on one's own.

Pitcher stamina needs to be completely overhauled for a number of reasons, the most conspicuous of which are

a) starters who are used in emergency relief situations on X days rest can't throw nearly as many pitches as they can if used as starters on the same number of days rest

b) it's impossible to build up a pitcher's stamina over time

Both are completely absurd.

Incorporate Davenport Translations (or a similar translation of your own design) to better represent minor league and foreign league performance for real life historical players.

Put a selection for batting helmets in the team colors, uniforms, caps, etc. so that they can be selected or not selected depending on what era you are playing in.

-- Player Expectations need to be examined from contracts being signed to promotions and the roles expectations & how they fit into the team. There has to be some common sense.

(Posted Today)Pitchers with extremely low stamina with 3 solid pitches or more expect to be in the starting rotation. There is not really a solid option to lengthen a pitchers arm to attempt to get them into the rotation...so dealing with a player getting angry coming up from Triple A with unrealistic expectations is tiring to deal with.

Position players that want to be in a certain part of the lineup (top or middle) when there are studs in those positions and in no way shape or form without injury or slumps will they get to hit in those spots. (There has to be common sense from the player recognizing their clubs environment)

Player expectation of being in the starting lineup vs bench player. Maybe having a platoon option or defensive replacement...more options than just the two then to have a player get pissed off disrupting the dugout.

Contracts that are signed with realistic expectations than just Non-Specified or Starting lineup. Signed as a backup, veteran presence, starting pitcher relegated to the bullpen, platoon player etc.

-- As for game play the only thing I want to see is more attempted double plays instead of the SS or 2B just holding on to the ball. In real life I hardly ever see middle infielders eating it instead of making the attempt unless the runner has broken the play up. However, that is becoming more and more rare due to the rule changes to keep injuries from occurring.

These were interesting dynamics when introduced and I'm sure the random nature personalities serve those they play fictional leagues well, but for historic and current year games, the fact they are randomized make them a no-go.

There is ample data out there that would allow one to lock in certain personality types to certain players are surely as the players' stats are tied to them.

Clemente isn't a cancer. Cobb is. Just lock it in place. It's a lot of SABR bio reading, so hire an intern. Or farm it out to the community board here on a sticky. Or get a core group of veteran board members to research it and reach consensus. I'm a Sox fan. Jason Varitek was a Captain. Pedroia a sparkplug or leader. Manny was a cancer I'd still endure to have his production at the plate. I think this is something the community could do but unless the information will get used, ... we won't... and we'll just keep turning off that part of the game...

Not to say that these aren't valid points when it comes to historic players; in my MLB starts, it gives another dynamic to the game, as I eventually, have a lot of fictional players if I continue the save past present day.

Have a running tally of the days home runs as a widget in game and also as an updating list on the real-time sim screen. You could call it "The Dong Report" or something.

Do you think they would do it for all parks, or just the ones that come with the game? A lot of people use your parks and, you would hope that if they do it at all they do it for historic parks also.

I don't think it's a matter of a park mod, it would be in the database so it should be every park that is used in a game. Just looking to track individual stats at each ballpark they play in and also team stats.

It would have to be data recorded in your game wouldn't it? IOW whatever parks your league is using. OOTP is just saving stats game to game from each stadium. No different than team stats vs player stats. Just adding a new category. At least I assume that is what silvam is asking for.

I am not talking about when a team is promoted because they win the championship.
But because the owner has done well financially and is awarded a team at a higher level.
If a city in a lower level gets a team in a Higher league, the Lower level team would also move as most cities would have a problem supporting more than one team.

I'm not sure if its been mentioned in all of these pages but RIVALRIES. Rivalries rivalries rivalries.

The AI should be able to take into consideration who they are playing, or more importantly who they are making a trade to. As the Boston Red Sox, I should not be able to make a trade for a key piece from the New York Yankees, or vice versa. If I'm a high ranking team in the AL, I shouldnt be able to make a trade to a high ranking team in the NL who I might meet in the World Series for one of their key players.

With all of the iterations of this game one franchise's opinion should be able to be taken into consideration for almost every decision. If I'm playing as the mid 2000's Red Sox and Derek Jeter hits free agency I should have to pay more for him, or not be able to sign him at all because of his potential opinion of my franchise.

This is LONG overdue.
