White Sox 15, Athletics 2. Eloy Jimenez homered twice, reached base all five times he was up, and drove in six runs as the White Sox crushed the Athletics. Edwin Encarnacion hit a grand slam for Chicago.

Blue Jays 9, Phillies 7. Teoscar Hernandez hit a three-run walk-off homer to lead the Blue Jays to the win. Hernandez had three hits and drove in five on the day.

Rays 5, Yankees 0. Mike Zunino homered twice as the Rays beat the Yankees. Charlie Morton allowed just four baserunners over 7 1/3 shutout innings.

Twins 3, Rangers 2. Kenta Maeda struck out eight over 5 1/3 innings to win his 13th game. Tommy Pham and Josh Donaldson both homered in the first inning to put the Twins ahead.

Cardinals 9, Royals 4. Kolten Wong and Brad Miller both homered as the Cardinals defeated the Royals. Tommy Edman put St. Louis in front with a double in the seventh inning.

Reds 2, Red Sox 1. Nick Castellanos hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to sent the Reds to the victory. Sonny Gray allowed one run over seven innings for Cincinnati.

Orioles 3, Nationals 0. Michael Baumann pitched seven shutout innings to lead the Orioles to the win. Rio Ruiz hit a two-run homer for Baltimore.

Marlins 13, Mets 2. The Marlins got three-hit games from Brian Anderson, Corey Dickerson and Jorge Alfaro as they routed the Mets. Jose Urena pitched six shutout innings for the win.

Pirates 10, Cubs 6. The Pirates put together a five-run rally in the ninth to defeat the Cubs. Willians Astudillo hit two home runs and drove in four runs for Pittsburgh.

Braves 8, Brewers 5. Adeinys Hechevarria had three hits and drove in three runs as the Braves beat the Brewers. Kyle Wright got the win, and Chris Martin his 39th save.

Diamondbacks 7, Giants 1. Robbie Ray struck out nine and allowed just three baserunners over 7 2/3 innings as the Diamondbacks beat the Giants. Arizona got home runs from Kevin Cron, Dominic Leyba and Kole Calhoun.

Dodgers 6, Rockies 1. Alex Wood allowed one run in 7 1/3 innings to lead the Dodgers to a victory over the Rockies. Joc Pederson had three hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs.

Twins 13, Rangers 4. Luis Arraez and Max Kepler each homered and drove in four runs as the Twins blew out the Rangers. Six Twins batters had multi-hit games.

Royals 3, White Sox 2 (11 innings). Hunter Dozier drove in the go-ahead run with a double in the eleventh inning. Billy McKinney and Brett Phillips homered for the Royals.

Astros 9, Orioles 4. Martin Maldonado had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the Astros past the Orioles. Yordan Alvarez and Jose Altuve homered for Houston.

Angels 7, Athletics 5. Luis Rengifo put the Angels in front with a two-run homer in the ninth inning, his third hit of the day. Mark Canha also homered for Los Angeles.

Mariners 5, Indians 4. Kyle Seager hit a two-run homer to help the Mariners come from behind against the Indians. Shed Long Jr. reached base three times and scored all three.

Pirates 6, Cubs 3. A five-run rally in the ninth inning helped the Pirates overtake the Cubs. Kevin Newman and Jason Martin drove in two runs apiece.

Cardinals 10, Reds 4. Adam Wainwright went 5 1/3 innings and hit a home run of his own as the Cardinals defeated the Reds. Kolten Wong and Wilfredo Tovar each hit three-run homers.

Mets 5, Marlins 3. David Peterson struck out nine in 5 2/3 innings as the Mets beat the Marlins. Robert Gsellman threw two scoreless innings of relief, and Edwin Diaz struck out the side for his 33rd save.

Braves 10, Brewers 6. The Braves hit six doubles to beat the Brewers. Six Atlanta batters had multi-hit games, with Ender Inciarte and Johan Camargo getting three hits each.

Diamondbacks 9, Padres 8. Daulton Varsho hit a bases-clearing walk-off double to win the game for the Diamondbacks against the Padres. He and Josh Rojas drove in four runs apiece on the day.

But Vladimir Guerrero Jr. tied it with a home run in the bottom of the inning, and won it with a walk-off single in the fourteenth. He and Teoscar Hernandez had three hits on the day.

Rays 3, Red Sox 2. The Rays increased their winning streak to 11 games and Tyler Glasnow won his 17th game of the season. Austin Meadows had two hits for Tampa Bay.

Astros 12, Orioles 2. The Astros handed the Orioles their 110th loss of the season. Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez both had three hits and a home run. Zack Greinke won his 16th game.

White Sox 4, Royals 2. Lucas Giolito struck out eleven and allowed one run over 6 1/3 innings to get the win. Nomar Mazara's home run put the White Sox in front.

Mets 6, Rangers 5. The game ended on a wild pitch by Jose Leclerc. Luis Guillorme hit a two-run home run for the Mets. Noah Syndergaard struck out nine over seven innings.

September 21 standings

With a week to go in the regular season, things are pretty well sewn up. The Twins have shot past the Indians in the AL Central, and that's the only division race still up for grabs.

Willians Astudillo won the NL Player of the Week for the Pirates, hitting .476 with three home runs and nine RBI. Jose Altuve had 12 hits, five home runs and fifteen RBI to win the AL award.

Orioles 3, Rays 1. Jose Rondon hit a two-run homer to help topple the first-place Rays. Starters Charlie Morton and Hunter Harvey both had to leave with injuries, but in both cases the bullpens were strong.

Astros 4, Yankees 2 (12 innings). George Springer's second home run broke a tie and sent the Astros to an extra-inning victory. Springer had three hits and drove in four runs on the day.

Royals 9, Tigers 7. Jedd Gyorko hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to bring the Royals from behind. Billy McKinney had three hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs on the day.

White Sox 1, Indians 0. Luis Robert drove in the game's only run with a single in the eighth inning. Reynaldo Lopez allowed just five baserunners over 7 1/3 scoreless innings.

Reds 6, Marlins 2. Jurickson Profar had two hits and drove in three runs for the Reds. Sonny Gray struck out nine and allowed two runs over seven innings for Cincinnati.

Mets 11, Phillies 10. Bryce Harper brought the Phillies within a run with his second home run of the game in the bottom of the ninth, but it wasn't enough as the Mets won their fifth in a row. Harper drove in five on the day, and Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a three-run homer.

Braves 6, Nationals 5 (11 innings). The Braves won a wild one on a walk-off single by Ozzie Albies. The Braves had tied it in the ninth, and both clubs scored two runs in the tenth. Adeinys Hechevarria had three hits and drove in two runs.

Cardinals 6, Brewers 5. Tommy Edman had three hits and Paul Goldschmidt homered a the Cardinals won their seventh in a row. Giovanny Gallegos had his 41st save.

Red Sox 5, Blue Jays 3. Alex Verdugo and Adam Haseley drove in two runs apiece to help the Red Sox top the Blue Jays. Rick Porcello struck out thirteen over eight innings to get the win for Boston.

Tigers 8, Royals 3. C.J. Cron homered and drove in four runs as the Tigers defeated the Royals. Casey Mize struck out ten and allowed two runs in six innings for Detroit.

Athletics 5, Rangers 1. Sean Murphy homered and Chad Pinder drove in three runs to lead the A's past the Rangers. Frankie Montas allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings to get the win.

White Sox 3, Indians 1. A three-run homer by Edwin Encarnacion was enough for the White Sox to win this one. Dylan Cease struck out ten in four shutout innings, but didn't figure in the decision.

Mariners 6, Angels 2. Mallex Smith and J.P. Crawford had three hits apiece as the Mariners bested the Angels. Taijuan Walker allowed two runs in 7 2/3 innings to get the win.

Marlins 10, Reds 7. Jorge Alfaro and Jesus Aguilar had three hits apiece, with Alfaro driving in four runs and Aguilar two in the win. The Reds took a 6-0 lead but saw the bullpen collapse.

Pirates 4, Cubs 3. JT Riddle hit a walk-off three-run homer as the Pirates came back against the Cubs. JT Brubaker threw five shutout innings, but left with an injury.

Phillies 10, Mets 8. A two-run double by Deivy Grullon put the Phillies ahead in the seventh. Grullon drove in four runs on the day. The Mets' Luis Guillorme had four hits and drove in three runs.

Ronald Acuna Jr. will miss the rest of the season- and most of the postseason- with elbow tendinitis. Acuna hit .279 with 29 home runs and 97 RBI.

Red Sox 8, Blue Jays 2. Michael Chavis, Rafael Devers and Kevin Pillar homered for the Red Sox as they beat the Blue Jays. Mike Leake allowed two runs in six innings to get the win for Boston.

Tigers 6, Royals 5. Willi Castro walked with the bases loaded to put the Tigers ahead in the ninth. Castro hit a three-run homer earlier in the game, and Matthew Boyd struck out ten in seven innings for Detroit.

Padres 7, Twins 4. Nelson Cruz and Manny Machado each reached base three times and drove in two runs to help the Padres beat the Twins. Zach Davies allowed two runs in 7 1/3 innings to get the win.

Mets 24, Phillies 5. The Mets scored ten runs in the eighth inning and demolished the Phillies. Michael Conforto reached base five times, scored all five, and drove in four runs. Pete Alonso homered twice and drove in four as well. Jay Bruce, Logan Forsythe and Deivy Grullon soaked up the last two innings for Philadelphia.

Reds 9, Pirates 5. Jesse Winker and Jurickson Profar both had three hits to help the Reds beat the Pirates. Profar drove in three, and Joey Votto homered for Cincinnati.

Nationals 5, Braves 4. Victor Robles hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to help the Nationals come back against the Braves. Robles had three hits and drove in three on the day. Stephen Strasburg had to leave in the first inning with a dead arm and will miss the next two weeks.

Rockies 14, Dodgers 9. The Rockies put up ten runs in the seventh inning as the Rockies defeated the Dodgers. Charlie Blackmon homered twice and drove in three runs for Colorado.

Brewers 4, Giants 1. Corbin Burnes allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings to get the win. Lorenzo Cain hit a two-run homer for Milwaukee to pace the offense.

Yankees 6, Rays 2. Giancarlo Stanton hit a three-run homer, his 56th of the season, as the Yankees beat the Rays. Lewin Diaz also homered and drove in two. James Paxton left with an injury after two innings.

Red Sox 15, Orioles 3. The Red Sox blasted the Orioles for 15 runs and 22 hits. Triston Casas had four hits and drove in three, and Kevin Plawecki chipped in with a pinch-hit grand slam after the game was already out of reach.

Indians 8, Blue Jays 7 (13 innings). The Blue Jays took the lead when Bo Bichette homered in the top of the twelfth, but Cesar Hernandez tied it up with a home run of his own in the bottom of the inning, and Tyler Naquin ended it with a walk-off single in the next inning. Francisco Lindor and Franmil Reyes had three hits apiece for Cleveland, and the Indians overcame a four-hit game from Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

Tigers 8, White Sox 3. Tim Beckham homered and drove in four runs as the Tigers defeated the White Sox. C.J. Cron also homered and Daniel Norris got the win.

Royals 7, Twins 1. Jake Junis struck out nine over 5 1/3 innings, and Joe Broussard pitched two scoreless innings for the win. Brett Phillips homered for the Royals.

Cardinals 4, Cubs 3. The Cardinals won their tenth in a row. Jack Flaherty struck out eight over six innings and drove in a run of his own. Ian Happ had three hits, including a home run, for the Cubs.

Reds 5, Pirates 1. Derek Dietrich and Tommy Barnhart reached base three times apiece as the Reds defeated the Pirates. Trevor Bauer had to leave with forearm irritation in the first inning, but six relievers held Pittsburgh to two hits and one run.

Nationals 3, Phillies 2. Juan Soto's 38th home run drove in two runs as the Nationals beat the Phillies. Patrick Corbin pitched six shutout innings to win his 13th game.

Diamondbacks 7, Rockies 5. Two-run homers by Josh Rojas and Christian Walker helped the D-Backs defeat the Rockies. Dominic Leyba had three hits for Arizona.

Dodgers 6, Padres 1. Josh Turner homered and reached base five times was the Dodgers beat the Padres. Joc Pederson homered and drove in three. Brusdar Graterol allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings to move to 8-0 on the season.

Giants 2, Brewers 0. Andrew Triggs threw a four-hit shutout for the Giants. Brandon Crawford had two hits and Yolmer Sanchez broke the scoreless tie in the seventh.

Cubs 2, Cardinals 0. Kyle Hendricks held the Cardinals scoreless over eight innings, striking out seven and allowing just four baserunners. Jason Kipnis and Jason Heyward drove in the only runs of the game for the Cubs. Chicago remains a game ahead of Washington for the last playoff spot.

Marlins 4, Mets 0. Jose Urena allowed just one baserunners over 8 1/3 innings to help the Marlins to a shutout win over the Mets. Mike Tauchman had four hits and drove in three for Miami.

Dodgers 7, Padres 2. Max Muncy had three hits and Justin Turner hit a three-run homer as the Dodgers beat the Padres. Los Angeles made it a bullpen game, with Kenley Jansen throwing three shutout innings and striking out five.

Diamondbacks 13, Rockies 10. It was a fitting final game of the season at Coors Field, as the clubs combined for 31 hits. Josh Rojas homered twice, reached base all six times he was up, and drove in six runs for the Diamondbacks.

Cardinals 10, Cubs 2. Adam Wainwright threw eight inning and allowed two runs to win his 12th game. Paul Goldschmidt, Dylan Carlson and Tyler O'Neill all homered for the Cardinals. The loss forced the Cubs into a one-game playoff with the Nationals.

Astros 6, Braves 5. The Braves lost their sixth straight to end the season. Yordan Alvarez, George Springer and Alex Bregman homered for the Astros.

The Cardinals finished with the best record in baseline, with 106 wins. The Orioles lost 114, their third consecutive 100-loss season.

Mike Trout posted the highest WAR total in the AL at 8.8; he's got a fair shot at MVP honors, though Jose Altuve could also be in the mix. Cody Bellinger was tops in the NL at 9.3 despite missing the final month.

Shane Bieber had 7.2 WAR to lead the AL easily. Noah Syndergaard topped the NL at 5.4.

Austin Meadows hit .330 with nine home runs in September to win the AL Player of the Month. Mookie Betts hit .311 with eight homers and 24 RBI to win the NL award.

Tyler Glasnow went 4-0 with an 0.64 ERA to win the Pitcher of the Month in the AL, while Adam Wainwright was 5-0 to win the award in the NL in perhaps the final month of his illustrious career.

Deivi Garcia and Brusdar Graterol won the Rookie of the Month awards.

Man this is a harsh reminder that something was wrong in Metville this year, your resim shows all the teams that made it but also shows the Mets, what did they do differently than in real life that made the difference.

Kind of just a good year from top to bottom, without too many injuries and no LOLMets foibles. de Grom wasn't quite as good as usual, and Pete Alonso took a step back, but they got great seasons from Syndergaard, McNeil, and (of all people) Luis Guillorme.

That is an alternate reality, injuries beset Stroman and Syndergaard for sure.. Diaz was not that good ... Luis Guilliorme is the next Justin Turner, he will end up somewhere and be a star... it happens every 10 years with the Mets, he has a great stick
