Price looks frighteningly ordinary far too often for my taste. I think that he may need to go the way of Max too.

Verlander is scratched for today. Dialing up some Buck Farmer magic. I saw this kid in short A getting his pitches hit hard; unfortunately, not much has changed. Prove me wrong Buck!

If that's the case, do you see what you can get for him at the deadline? Or do you mortgage the future on a one game wildcard appearance? What about Cespedes? Kinsler? Tough question, and I have no clue.

I wouldn't mind getting some good prospects for Price and Kinsler at the deadline if they are out there (no clue what might be available). Kinsler and his contract would bring a lot less and require a desperate franchise so maybe keeping him would work better in the long run.

Great oogly moogly that was an ugly first inning. Kudos to Farmer for squirming out of that mess.

I disagree.
![]() Not for the posted reason though. More because he is literally 26-for-42 against the Indians this year. A .619/.673/1.024 stat line in 11 games is totally ridiculous. The Indians would actually be better walking him every single time, not just seemingly better. I think Tom Hamilton mentions his stat line every single time he bats on the Indians broadcasts. |

This just in: Buck Farmer is still not ready for prime time.
We'll likely see him again in a few weeks.

He's settled a bit and this hasn't turned into a complete horror show. AT 103 pitches and counting though, the hook will come soon.
Edit: hooked

That's because he's a long reliever being asked to start. Same thing happens when Ryan starts. Reminds me of when they tried to make Phil Coke a starter. Too bad we can't force teams to send 27 different batters to the plate..we might have a couple of hall of famers on our hands.

Ho hum. That's kind of how I'm feeling about this season right now. They just don't seem to have "fire" this year.

Nice comeback. I think that the Twins have had their 15 minutes of fame and will fade way back in fairly short order but I am becoming increasingly pessimistic about Detroit's ability to hang with the Royals all season.
Another Sub-Price Price outing. Verlander ready for Tuesday but who knows what's coming there.

Tough to lose in extra innings like that but there were good things last night: 2 run comeback staged in the eighth, The pen cycled through the usual suspects and came up with seven scoreless innings.
I wonder how Rondon looks. Hard to know what he is like just from the boxscores. At 24, he probably should be moving into the big league club house or moving on soon.

Wow 21 hits by the Pirates for only 9 runs.
