Fields is getting his first taste of full-season ball. Just about everybody got promoted over the off season.

Season Start: SS Timothy Hawk, White Sox
![]() ![]() White Sox have him hitting way too low. White Sox still experimenting with Hawk at Short. He's picking up the position fairly quickly, and has the skills to stick.

RF Barry Bums, Cleveland
![]() ![]() Cleveland has a good chance to make the playoffs. Bums is platooning in Cleveland. It's a good situation to be in, and with his sky-high power rating, expect him to make the best of it.

C Crash Davis, Cleveland
![]() Crash is the success story of Create A Career. He projects as an-all star, and has above-average defensive skills. Bums, and the rest of the Wahoos, will rely on Davis for the Tribe's playoff push.

1B Shawn Cameron AAA New Orleans (Miami AAA)
![]() ![]() You're gonna hear this is a "make or break" year for a lot of guys, Cameron Included. Shaun has an outside shot at Rookie of the Year if he gets hot-- he's already on par with the 1B on the big club.

SP Dean Caufield AA Tulsa Drillers (AA Colorado)
![]() SP Dean Caufield seems to improve as he faces more adversity. He's about to get his first taste of AA ball. Dean probably needs 12/12/12 to make the show. Dean is a long-shot to ever reach stardom, but a role in long relief or back-end starter could be only a season away.

SS Deepak Khabra AA Rochester Red Wings (Minnesota AA)
![]() Khabra is hoping to build off his solid AA campaign... with another season in AA. If he can continue to hit the cover off the ball, they'll be a place for Khabra

1B/3B Mike "Mullet" Hegstrand A Carolina Mudcats (Cleveland A)
![]() "Mullet" is a good bet to join young players Barry Bums and Crash Davis down the road. Hegstrand is being brought up slowly, like Crash was, and many scouts see the "Mullet" surpassing AA and AAA similar to C Davis.

SP Scott "Strawberry" Fields A St. Lucie Mets (Mets A)
![]() Fields is on the slow track. He didn't sign after being drafted in '13, slipped three rounds after that, and spent his first two seasons in short season. Developmentally Fields has a long way to go before he hits the majors. "Strawberry" has wonky control combined with a low stamina.

SP Eric Scott "The Montross" Montross
![]() A failure in A Ball will probably doom "The Montross". He's been below average at stops in Rookie and Short-Season. This is probably his last, desperate, crow.

SS/CF/2B Jeffery Lage, A Savannah Sand Gnats (Mets A)
![]() Jeffery Lage is a backup/utility man in Savannah. It's a downgrade from his previous place on the team he excelled at last year. This might be the sunset of Lages short baseball career

C Damien Rosetto A Augusta Greenjackets (A San Francisco)
![]() Damien is a backup in Augusta. Not a great place for him to be at the moment. "Dago Red" needs to string together a solid performance to continue his improvement

MR Rusty Priske, S A Williamsport
![]() Rusty Priske was scheduled in late march to progress to full-season. Ge would instead be repeating with the Crosscutters in 2016. Will have to see if Priske passes the bullpen test this season, again.

2015 Season Projections ML Level
1. C Crash Davis Cleveland Indians (Projected Record: 83-79) Spring Training: .143, 2 HR 5 RBI Projected Stats: 600 AB, .260/.340/.500, 30 HR, 100 HR Projected AL All-Star The focus will be on Crash from early on in the season. He's going to be the focal point of a Cleveland Team projected to be in the postseason hunt. All signs point to a breakout year for Crash with the exception of a subpar spring. 2. SS Timothy Hawk Chicago White Sox (Projected Record: 74-88) Spring Training: .220 with 3 HR and 13 RBI Projected Stats: 550 AB, .255/.345/.420 with 15 HR, 55 RBI Scouts are split on how well Timothy Hawk has developed. Hawk has great power tools yet in the minors relied more on his contact hitting. He flashed power in short major league stints. It's hard to judge how Hawks' rookie season will pan out. 3. RF Barry Bums Cleveland Indians (Projected Record: 83-79) Spring Training: .218, 3 HR, 10 RBI Projected Stats: 400 AB, .235/.280/.490, 25 HR, 70 HR Barry is platooning, yet hitting fifth in the Indians batting order. He'll be right behind fellow prospect Crash Davis, star hitter, in the lineup against RHP. Bums is shaking off a sub-par performance in Toronto. The Indians need Barry to bounce back.

Minors Part One
4. Shawn Cameron (AAA New Orleans) (Miami Organization) Projected Stats AAA: 400 AB, .295/.400/.400, 2 HR and 30 RBI, 20 SB Projected Stats ML: 200 AB, .250/.350/.375, 2 HR and 20 RBI, 5 SB Shawn is a lead-off man playing a power position. He's a ++ contact bat with ++ speed. He can play several positions yet he's best at first. The Marlins are projected to finish at 82-80 (near the playoff chase), and have no good solution at First Base, making a call-up to big leagues soon. ETA: 2016 5. Mike "Mullet" Hegstrand (A Carolina) (Cleveland Organization) Projected Stats: A: 200 AB, .290/.340/.490, 10 HR, 30 RBI Projected Stats: AA: 400 AB, .250/.310/.400, 15 HR, 50 RBI Mullet is developing quickly. I expect that he'll get promoted soon, as he already obliterated A ball in Lake County during his rookie season. He's developed beyond the limitations of A Ball and is ready for AA. Expect solid power numbers from the hard-hitting resident of the hot corner. ETA: 2017 6: Scott "Strawberry" Fields (A St. Lucie) Projected Stats: High A: 20 GS, 7-4 3.55 ERA 72 SO Strawberry has been brought along very slowly due to control issues. The mets seem to have a history of advancing players slowly and it's probably a good idea for Strawberry to spend a few years honing his skills. He has too much stuff to be stranded in A ball. He should have a break-out 2016 season proving to all the doubters he deserves a major-league roster spot. ETA: 2019

7. SP Dean "Buddy" Caufield
Projected Stats: AA 20 S, 11-7 3.40 ERA 90 K "Buddy" seems to rise to the occasion each level he advances to. His skills translate easily into a AAA starter. I don't expect him to be world beating in his first season at the new level but he should be above-average. Buddy shone in his high-A debut. Expect more of the same debuting in a new league he's already head and shoulders above. ETA: 2017 8. 2B/SS/CF Deepak Khabra Projected Stats: AA 400 AB: .276/.370/.500, 30 HR, 80 RBI, 20 SB AAA 100 AB: .230/.340/.460, 5 HR, 20 RBI, 5 SB Khabra has + speed and + power. He's developing quickly. The major impediment to advancement is his defense. He's improving at all three positions he can field. Khabra has a good chance to hit a major league roster sometime in the near future. ETA: 2017 9. MR Rusty Priske Projected Stats: S A 5 G, 6.2 IP, 1.91 ERA Projected Stats: Low A 15 G, 25.5 IP, 3.17 ERA Priskes' conversion to MR led to a comeback season by the young hurler. He saw all of his actuals improve modestly after the season. He was slated to start the season in Low A. I expect, given his stats in S A last year, he gets moved up quickly. This is a make-or-break season for Priske, and we can see if he's able to use last year's momentum to pass the bullpen test... again. ETA: 2019

There's a good possibility Scott "Strawberry" Fields ends up as a MR as well.
It seems with pitchers that low potentials are easier to overcome with a few good seasons (see Caufield, Dean). I don't think Priske is going to be a star, but he could very well pitch in the majors.
