Jeffrey Lage is our first player to reach free agency.
He has decided to sign with the Baltimore Orioles for 3 years, 72 million 'The Baltimore Orioles have the second best farm system in baseball and they just won the World Series. Why would I not want to be here' Jeffrey said after signing the short term, but expensive deal. As for the main reason. The O's traded for Stanton, and the Marlins took a bunch of prospects. 101 win team, and they traded their best player. Made no sense. The O's have a top notch farm system and they also signed Bryce Harper to a 7 year, 27 million per year deal. So I think it's safe to say they are going to be good for some time. And I wanted to go somewhere where they had a good chance to win. Mike Trout signed with the Giants for 8 years, 276 million. I did consider them as well. |
