set the roster back to the playoff-eligible 25 men once the season ends so you don't have to manually put 15 guys back down to the minors.

Everytime a team loses in the World Series, it should be declared to be Obama's biggest failure yet!

(Sorry, couldn't help myself.)

Screen to track prior players of a team. The prior draft is a good screen to see who was drafted, but it would be nice to see all other players in the team history in one spot.

This could simply be a list of all players by season, who are no longer on the team. The players name could be a hyper-link that can be right-clicked for player profile if still active in the league, with a quick blurb about current status. For example:

Previous Tiger players no longer on the team:
2008
---------
SP Joe Shmo - Currently on Toronto Blue-Jays
1B Bob Smith - Retired 2009
3B Ken Douglas - Currently on Boston Gators (AAA)

2009
--------
SS John Smith - Currently on New York Highlanders
MR Jake Johnson - Retired 2010

Or maybe another option listing years on our team:
2007-2009 SP Joe Shmo - Currently on Toronto Blue-Jays
2005-2009 1B Bob Smith - Retired 2009
2008-2008 3B Ken Douglas - Currently on Boston Gators
2008-2011 SS John Smith - Currently on New York Highlanders
2003-2007, 2009-2010 MR Jake Johnson - Retired 2010

In player career stats, have the partial seasons be a different color or Bold/Italics so that at a glance it is easy to distinguish total season from partial breakdowns.

E.g.
2006 CHA 8 10 4.00 <-- White or Bold for full season stats
2007 CHA 3 12 3.06 <-- Yellow or Italics for Partial season stats
2007 AZU 1 5 3.58 <-- Yellow or Italics for Partial season stats
Total 2007 4 17 3.25 <-- White or Bold for season total
2008 AZU 9 9 3.55 <-- White or Bold for full season stats

Or the series shouldn't be played at all and the trophy goes to the team that thinks the hardest of winning the series.

I didn't know Obama bought an OOTP license.

In the pre-game lineups, have tired, day-to-day,... players be a different color, so that they can be noticed at a glance. This was the case in some prior versions, just asking for that feature to be re-implemented.

For example:
1B Bob Smith <- White and normal font for current status OK
2B Charlie Richards <- Orange/Bold because day-to-day injury
3B Ron Jones <- White and normal font for current status OK
CA Joe Johnson <- Green/Italic because tired
...

This color coding exists in the list of available players, just asking that the color coding also be displayed for those currently in the lineup listing.

I never even considered that... I see how that works, then. OK, I guess my post about that can be dismissed.

Season league rankings per stat on the batting/pitching stat screens. Possibly on the split screen as another row at the bottom with a value for each column indicating each stat rank for the player

The trophy would go not to who won or who had the most talent but to whoever inspired the most hope.

I'd like to see on the team home page some indication of the division/league/world series titles that the team has won. This could be indicated by pennants or trophies in the header or footer of the page with the year of the achievement.

Can we get the veiled politics out of the thread please?

I don't know if you can do this already, but give us the ability to dictate the maximum and minimum innings in a game. I've always wanted to set up a fictional league with ten inning games to get nice, round statistics.

Also, the ability to put players in the amateur draft and restrict certain nationalities from being drafted, instead they go into the Free Agent pool.

I'd also like to see the following:
  1. Having to actually sign draft picks, instead of just automatically assigning them to the lowest level minor league.
  2. Rehab Assignments: if my star left fielder has to undergo some sort of surgery, I want to be able to put him in the minors to see how he does before calling him back up to the majors. With the current system, I'm unable to do that.
  3. More messages from minor league coaches; I don't like following my minor leaguers that closely, unless I personally drafted them, or they're a top-tier prospect. It would be nice to know if some thirty-second round pick is tearing it up, or outperforming his first-round pick equivelant.
  4. Built-in stat tracking. I know that if a pitcher strikes out 99 batters in 2009, then stries out 100 in 2010 that he's striking out one more batters, but I'd like the game to tell me that.

#2 has been suggested a few times. Glad you did also and hope others will. This would be a BIG plus.

I like #3 quite a bit as well. It's hard to keep up with what's going on down there.

The metric system invades OOTP. I can see it now...the mound is 20m from home plate, Mickey Mantle planting a ball across the street 180m away, Nolan Ryan topping out 140 km/h.

And Bob Uecker saying Rick Vaughn's pitches are "ju-ust a millimeter outside".
