I lied. I'm still awake.

So, do the A's clinch tomorrow? I'm gonna guess that the Angels hang in there for at least one more day.

I like Sunday's pitching matchup much more than Saturday's. So I'd say they do it Sunday.

The champagne is on ice! No need to post the lineup because it's the same as always. Let's just win this today!

Normally I'd be screaming at Macha to take Blanton out of the game at this point but I like keeping him in. Save the 'pen, get 'em tomorrow.

Since I have no team to root for can I apply to be a temporary A's fan for playoff purposes?

Sure, I have no problem with bandwagoners. The more people rooting for the A's, the better!

Not really a bandwagon, just somewhere to put my playoff emotion into since I have no one else to get behind.

Well, it looks like the Angels will win tonight, so it'll be magic number of 1.

Any idea on matchups for the first round? I want to buy tickets, but I know in the past they've had weekday games in the ALDS. I can't go on a weekday, but I could go on a weeknight or weekend. Don't want to shell over $20-$50 only to be disappointed.

They still have tix available tonight. Let's hope the A's can sell out 34,000 or so seats for the ALDS. The plan is to keep the third deck and Mt. Davis closed throughout the post-season (including the World Series). That could be one hot WS ticket ... especially if they face another California team.

Well if Detroit wins the AL Central (which I really, really hope they will), you'll be in luck because the A's would have two home games, one of which would be Game 4 on Saturday 10/7.

The weekday games will most certainly be day games because they won't be playing the Yankees, and New York always get prime time billing.

dola,

Come to think of it I don't think there's any way the A's get home field in the first round, so you should be guarenteed the Game 4 on Saturday (which in buying tickets would be A's home game #2). The A's would have to finish with a better record than the Yankees or AL Central winner and that probably won't happen.

Infractions: 1/1 (1)
Game 1 - Tue., October 3
Game 2 - Wed., October 4
Game 3 - Fri., October 6
Game 4 - Sat., October 7
Game 5 - Sun., October 8

That is what the Twins website is giving me. If I remember correctly from past years (I'm feeling slightly intoxicated) it is 2-2-1.

Yep, that's right. That's why I'm saying A's have Friday and Saturday, Games 3 & 4 as they won't have home field. We're almost definitely playing the AL Central winner.

Hmmm... I want to go to either the game tomorrow night or the game Wednesday night. More than likely it will be the Wednesday game as I have something that I want to do tomorrow afternoon.

Here's hoping the A's lose tomorrow and the Angels win!

Then the A's can win the next night.
