You have no idea, I was just stunned the whole fight until bam Wilde pulls the win out of his butt. Not the greatest of wins but we'll take it. I'm thinking about maybe giving Jimmy a tune up fight or two before stepping back up into this level of competition it might do him some good.

McAllen Convention Center, McAllen, TX, USA

Marvin Hagler, USA, 8-0-0 (5) vs Dewey Cooper, USA, 7-1-0 (6)

Cooper misses with a jab and Hagler shoots home two right jabs and a left cross. Hagler, 14-0, 18-4, in the first two rounds. Cooper cannot get off and find the mark. Hagler gets caught on the ropes in the 4th and Cooper lands a nice combo. Cooper has another decent round, 16-9 in the 5th, 8-7 in the 4th. Hagler doubles up on the left and takes the 6th, 16-4. Cooper looks tired and has a swollen right eye as Hagler pushes forward, 18-3, in the 7th. 29-6, Hagler in the 9th as Cooper's eye is almost swollen shut. 19-4, Hagler in the 10th as Cooper seems to be fading fast. A body shot to the liver puts Cooper down in the 11th. Cooper is up at nine. He doesnt stay up long as Hagler unloads a straight left that ends the fight at the 2:35 mark of the 11th.

Winner: Hagler
Result: (KO11)
Cards: 98-92, 99-91, 98-92, all three cards in favor of Hagler
Punch stats: 114-588, 19.4% Cooper - 342-605, 56.5% Hagler

NLP starting to emerge as a player...

NLP is starting to come to the fore-front as a major factor in the boxing world. The signing of Joe Calzaghe was a major development. Calzaghe has shot up the world rankings with major victories and looks to win a major world belt this August in a fight with IBF Champion, Jack Dempsey. NLP's stable doesnt end there though, as both Mikkel Kessler and Marvelous Marvin Hagler remain undefeated in their professional campaigns and look to become factors in the EBU and USBA regions shortly. NLP and their fighters have yet to taste the agony of defeat.

Mexican Boxing Federation Championship

FECOMBOX Title Fight - Centro Deportivo Roma, Tuxtla Gutierrez, CHP, Mexico

[FECOMBOX Champion] Erik Morales, Mexico, 11-1-1 (10) vs [FECOMBOX#1] David Cabrera, Mexico, 8-2-1 (8)

"Maceton" Cabrera and "El Terrible" Morales face off for the second time in three months to determine the champion of Mexico. The first fight ended in a technical draw due to cuts. Cabrera rushes out of his corner and lands a beautiful shot, but Morales dominates the rest of the round. Morales lands a vicious uppercut that puts Cabrera on the seat of his pants in the middle of the 2nd, 24-0. 15-7, the 3rd is another good round for the champ as Cabrera has already developed some swelling around his left eye. Cabrera, 15-4, in the 4th. Morales, 23-9, in the 5th, as the champ looks eager to end this fight. Cabrera is down again in the 6th. Morales is putting on a clinic, 19-5, as Cabrera's eye is getting worse. Morales again, 12-3, in the 7th. Cabrera is no better than a punching bag right now as Morales is landing everything that he throws, 18-6, in the 8th. 22-0, Morales in the 9th as Cabrera's eye is close to being shut. A right cross puts Cabrera down for the third time in this fight. Cabrera gets up at the count of 8, but the referee is stopping the fight. A very good stoppage in our opinion as Cabrera is just taking a beating and cannot see out of his left eye. Erik Morales wins the rematch and retains his FECOMBOX title.

Winner: Morales
Result: (TKO10)
Cards: 88-79, 89-78, 89-78, all three cards in favor of Morales
Punch stats: 106-338, 31.4% Cabrera - 336-549, 61.2% Morales

Puerto Rican Boxing Federation Championship

PRBF Title Fight - Hiram Bithorn Stadium, San Juan, Puerto Rico

[PRBF Champion] John Ruiz, Puerto Rico, 18-6-1 (18) vs [PRBF#1] Miguel Cotto, Puerto Rico, 10-1-0 (10)

A boisterous and emotional crowd has this stadium at decibels so high that I cannot hear myself speak! Miguel Cotto seems to be the fan favorite because of his punishing style. Cotto quietly goes about his business outside of the ring but unleashes punches with bad intentions inside of the ring, specifically a left hook to the body that often finds the mark. The champion, John Ruiz, has been waiting for this fight for a long time now and believes that Cotto is over-hyped and has come too far, too fast. Ruiz believes that Cotto doesnt belong in the same ring with him and aims to prove it here tonight. Cotto comes out like a charging bull that sees red and clobbers the champion with hard blows from both hands. Ruiz manages to clinch and holds on to survive the onslaught in the 1st round, 21-4. Ruiz regains his composure and is able to open up in the 2nd round, 19-10. Ruiz wins the exchanges, 11-8, in the 3rd round. Cotto commands the 4th, 23-4, as Ruiz's left eye begins to swell. The challenger works Ruiz's bad eye, 20-3, in the 5th. Another big round for Cotto, 23-6, in the 6th. 21-11, Cotto in the 7th. Ruiz's left eye looks bad entering the 8th. 22-2, Cotto, in command of the fight in the 8th. Ruiz is having serious problems in the 9th, 22-0, Cotto. An uppercut puts the champion down at the end of the 10th! Ruiz walks into the left hook and goes down for the 2nd time in this fight. Ruiz is trying to press the action because he is worried that the fight could be stopped due to his left eye. But Ruiz is being man-handled, and goes down again in the 13th. All Cotto has to do is stay away and he has this fight won. Ruiz will just not go away. We enter the last round. Ruiz needs a knockout to win. Cotto keeps Ruiz on the outside and the final bell rings!

Winner: Cotto
Result: (UD15)
Cards: 147-134, 149-133, 148-133, all three cards in favor of Cotto
Punch stats: 194-684, 28.4% Ruiz - 527-925, 57% Cotto

Good win for Cotto ... wish he would have stopped Huggy Bear but for once he didn't get hit with 100% of the punches thrown.

Dont think that you are going to have any more easy matches with your three heavy hitters now, Arguello, Cotto, Morales. It will be interesting to see who climbs to the top the fastest.

Nice, this is going to be a slugfest.

Just in case you were wondering why I always put up Tiger's list at the end, it is because I want to try to find good matchups for your opponent list. The ICBA region is a little dry when it comes to building up an early career. It is okay once a fighter is ranked but a little difficult to always find good, quality matchups with decent records when climbing from prospect to ranked fighter.
