Eh, I'm anxious, but not impatient. I'd rather get a complete, stable, well-developed game instead of some buggy thing where most of the features don't work.
I'm pretty sure it's in OOTP's best interest to release it when it's ready, so I'll trust them.

Over at .400, before the release of TPF, some guy said he was so excited that he was rubbing hot bacon greese on his nipples. He won a free copy of TPF

I think everyone has a right to voice their opinions. We all pay for the game so we are entitled to say statements about the game and the release. I think Markus has done a great job with everything but he said around opening day and it would be nice to have an update. Personally i dont think it would be to hard to make a post with an update about whats going on so the customers have an idea! I am very excited about the game and check these boards a few times a day to see if it is released. I also find it fun and adds to excitement reading others posts about how excited they are. All the people that criticize them should just relax and understand that people really want the game and are having fun.

I'm going to have to mostly agree with Jon on this one. We're all anxious for the release, and everyone is just trying to have some fun until it's released. And I don't quite understand the entire secretive approach regarding OOTP6...but I'm sure there's a reason.

The excitement is certainly understandable, but you have to admit asking for an update every day is a bit over the top. Steve posted the following less than 24 hours ago....

Geez, there's TPF (1.4 was released today), FOF2K4, TCY, FBCB, OOTP5. If this was *really* about "having fun", y'all would be gaming, not coming on here whining. It is clearly more than that, and it is illogical. Let's recap what we know:

1. Over three weeks ago (3/8), we were told "it is possible that NO release date will specifically be announced."
2. The next day, we were told "OOTP6 is rapidly approaching beta testing and should be ready for release around Opening Day!" That's *THREE* hints in one sentence that the release date is nebulous.
3. Then, pre-ordering started.

What has *got* to be frustrating for the guys at OOTP (and for anyone who approaches this rationally and logically, rather than like a giddy teenaged girl) is the "logic" that Jon uses, and apparently MidnightPyro agrees with:

Well, they told us point-blank that there might be *NO* updates. Just because you pre-ordered gives you no entitlement whatsoever to complain. Caveat emptor. You ordered a game that was not yet in beta, from a company that gave you absolutely no promise whatsoever about a release date, and no promise that they'd ever give you any more information before the release. Complaining now that they haven't told us anything is just silly.

NOTE: The above is not to imply any mistrust whatsoever in the boys at OOTP Developments. I pre-ordered myself, and I'm 100% confident that the game will be released as soon as it is fully tested and ready, and that's enough for me. I've got plenty of other free time things to do in the meantime, not the least of here is coming here and laughing at the lack of logic being displayed in this thread.

excitement builds, the Buzz is getting loader, Markus should write movies he sure knows how to build suspense.

who needs the game, just reading the "is it out yet" threads is entertaining enough for me.

You are correct that is the frustration of the OOTP developments. However i understand the frustration of those who have complained. There really hasn't been a true update for a couple weeks. Were were told it would probably be done by opening day, if not then by april 15th. So i'm guessing people would like to know if they should be expecting the game soon, or around april 15th....or later. Normally the OOTP crew give out a ton of info regarding the release of the game, this year they haven't. So basically we have been spoiled. I understand the frustration on both sides.

...and I really don't understand the frustration. It would be one thing if they hadn't told us that things were going to be this way, but they were up-front from the start, and haven't wavered. What more can you ask of 'em???
