This was a rough one. The Orioles battered Toronto pitching and beat the Jays, 12-2. Dalton Varsho and George Springer homered. WP - John Means (1-4) LP - Spencer Howard (2-2) Record - 69-57 The Jays and Red Sox are tied.

The Jays bounced back as Kevin Gausman pitched them to a 4-2 win over the Orioles. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Matt Chapman homered for Toronto. WP - Kevin Gausman (12-11) Save - Alex Vesia (8) LP - Grayson Rodriguez (9-9) Record - 70-57 Boston lost so the Jays once again lead the AL East, all alone.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is in a Triple Crown Race.
He leads at Batting Average (.314), he is tied for the most Home Runs with Aaron Judge (41), and he is 3rd in RBI, behind Jose Ramirez and Judge (99, trailing first by 3).

Daulton Varsho homered twice and Gary Sanchez also went deep but it was in a losing effort as the Guardians beat the Blue Jays, 11-6. WP - Triston McKenzie (9-5) LP - Chris Bassitt (12-6) Record - 70-59 The Jays now trail the Red Sox by one game.

The good news: The Blue Jays bounced back with a big, 12-5 win over the Guardians. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2 for 5 with a homer and 4 RBI. Michael Turconi hit his first career home run. Greg Springer also went deep. The bad news: Daulton Varsho left the game after being hit in the hand. We await word as to its severity. Nate Pearson left the game with an oblique strain.
