With free agency open San Jose decided to let all of their free agents test the free agency market. This was due to future commitments that means they have very little money left for extensions or free agents.
The players no longer with the team are Catchers Scott Ha, George Tizzard and reserve Ryan Staven First baseman Manny Jaime and reserve Bobby Rodriguez Second Baseman Armando Sandoval Third basemen Modesto Souza and Kevin Ward Starting Pitcher Bobby Montes and Liam Monck Relief Pitchers Jonas Enriquez, Jerome Montoya, Terry Mains and Daniel Mendoza Players that had an automatic renewal at $600,000 were as follows Pitcher Juan Flores Third baseman Mike Lentz Third Baseman Cole Pascoe Players that had an automatic renewal at $560,000 were as follows Pitcher Jonathan Laughlin Pitcher Edwin Rangel Pitcher Carlos Gonzalez Last edited by amead17; 05-06-2023 at 02:17 PM. |

The draft pool was announced and the draft order set ready for the 5th December draft. San Jose will be drafting 16th which is not the best position to be in for a team that has just let 14 free agents leave including both main catchers.

San Jose went into the draft looking to improve their team.
The first round saw them draft starting pitcher Brandon Walker The second round saw them draft Short Stop Chris Atkins The third round saw them draft Catcher Bobby Small They went Catcher in the fourth round as well drafting Brian Wade Centre Fielder Roberto Garza was drafted in round 5 Third Baseman Bernie Tinajero rounded out the San Jose’s 6 picks. Hopefully the team will be able to sign the players to a contract but even if they do none of them are expected to start unless the Raiders cannot find an experienced catcher in free agency. If they cannot find a catcher in free agency then Small or Wade may be called upon to play early. |

Bryan Grant was in the market for a trade this week as he decided to send 32 year old Relief Pitcher Isaiah Kelly to the Boston Rebels. In return he got 24 year old First Baseman Tony Picart. This trade took $6,000,000 dollars off the San Jose Raiders books to hopefully give them some room to manoeuvrer in the free agency market.
