Well, at least this world cup is in MY time zones.
Games start at 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm my time. In four years it will get a bit bitter

Freedom of speech is in unlimited, and never has been. I could provide you with MANY examples.
Bottom line, it WAS disrespectful for the US Soccer Federation to do what they did. In my mind, as a fan, our Soccer Federation just turned a 50-50 game into a 80% chance for a loss. What they did was stupid. Last edited by dsvitak; 11-28-2022 at 11:08 AM. |

If Cristiano had slightly more voluminous locks, he'd be the Portuguese's all time World Cup goal scorer now.
I'm sure his haircutter will tell him all about it, and that he knew it before. And that they should reintroduce the blonde accents.

That's because I think they did a good thing, they are making oppresive goverments more aware about how to be humane to minority groups.

If for no other reason, they could've avoided the complete clown show that Berhalter and Adams had to endure:
https://sports.yahoo.com/gregg-berha...170441226.html Almost makes our media look credible... |

Hef, remember Tommy Bridges' great line about media being the plural of mediocre. It stands the test of time.

So it's completely OK for Iran to call press conferences about how US police are treating African-Americans throughout the US? Seriously?

Another reason why they could have given the credit to Ronaldo was his presence in front of the net. A player of his stature is bound to attract an inordinate amount of attention, so the goalkeeper seemed to be concentrated on him instead of the ball. Even if Ronaldo didn't touch it at all, it would have gone into the net because the goalie was focused on Ronaldo. This writer thought Ronaldo was trying in a "sneaky" manner to take credit for the goal by celebrating as if he scored. Then he supposedly looked pouty when the goal went to Fernandes. My opinion is, the writer was reading a great deal into the situation.

Today I went home from work early to watch the two pairs of games all and whole: side by side on the laptop and the PC.
![]() I need a third thing to play Coons now.

Mixing sports and politics is the great american pasttime. Why do you think the president always throws out the first pitch at baseball games?

Not surprised Senegal went through there, Ecuador as a whole was just too tardy.
Now, will England slap off Wales, or will they bobble first place to... uh... Iran? ![]()

Bru, careful about encouraging the other team to bring it. Last time I did that, Japan tore us a new one
