Hey Eriq,

No pepper came up with this 60's style vest which is cool. I added the stripe layer. Maybe you could add to the next version

Yeah, I can add those. I'll have to play around with the way the seams get automatically applied but that shouldn't be too difficult.

While playing around with the name/number options, It seems the color strokes are not close to the letters and instead form a cloud. Is adding stroke size options a possibility?

Also, I like the normal maps, and that would save a ton of work, but would it be possible to lower the seam instensity as I think they show up a bit more than I like (especially the shoulder seams)

Thanks for considering my critiques of this phenomenal program

Both of those should be relatively easy to implement, yeah. I'm actually surprised I never thought of the stroke width thing myself!

Quick question for anyone in the know: Are the normal maps absolutely necessary?, or did they just make the jersey cosmetics better?

The game won't crash without them, but without them the jerseys won't have any dynamic lighting effects. You can use the "_textured" version of the jersey the Uniform Maker includes if you'd prefer, but the lightning effects are static.

The picture on the left is a jersey without a normal map, the picture on the right is a jersey with a normal map. If you look at the preview in-game the player model moves a bit as if he's breathing and you can see the dynamic lighting.

Why is the preview mannequin so, so awful. I spent countless hours in art anatomy classes and then a lifetime drawing the human figure. That thing is . . .beyond amateurish -- the stance, the proportions, the anatomy -- everything.

It also skews the uniforms. I'd rather have a straight-on front view if they can't do multiple views and make them look realistic.

OK I see, but what I guess I am asking is, can you use a jersey that is textured without the normal map? For instance, in the uniform project thread, is it possible to just use the jerseys without the normal maps? The ones you are describing are not provided. I only use a press box view, and really don't gain anything from all the normal maps, and they just make storing all of the jerseys much more of a pain for me.

Yes, you can do that, the normal maps are optional. So you can use older jersey template with the textures and shadows baked into them, they just don't work as well with the new player model. But if you're only doing the press-box view you won't notice much of a difference.

Hi Eriq! I'm on MacOS and installed HomeBrew and ImageMagick for MacOS. Ran scripts for installation.

However, I'm still getting error message "An error occurred - please make sure ImageMagick is installed" when selecting fonts and styles in wordmark.

Any idea on how to resolve this issue? Thanks!

Well, that might be an issue with the check I'm running to see if ImageMagick is installed. What happens if you just run magick in a terminal?

Hi Eriq,

After loading a previously completed uniform and making revisions, I am not able to successfully save the jersey by using the File/Save Jersey Only option. When I do, the program "spins" non-stop and will not complete the jersey only. I found a workaround by saving the entire uniform package again, which stops the spinning. Ironically, the Save Pants Only and Save Caps Only features work just fine for me, without any issues.

Any clues to what is happening?

BTW, I am thoroughly enjoying this mod, as always you belong in the Hall of Fame for elevating OOTP to another level of reality and enjoyability! Great work, much appreciated!

I still don't understand maps. When I load a jersey how does the map come into play if I am not loading it? Jerseys are png files maps are jpeg. Am I supposed to load these somewhere? I don't put anything other then minor leagues in my OOTP jersey folder. I manually load all my ML jerseys. For some leagues I will put to a jersey, cap, pants folder for that set to load.

If a properly named normal map file exists, it gets automatically loaded when you choose the jersey. For example, if you have the following files in the jersey's directory:

jerseys_chicago_white_sox_away.png
jerseys_chicago_white_sox_away_n.png
The first file is the jersey and the second file is the normal map. OOTP hides the normal map from the file selection dialog. When you choose "jerseys_chicago_white_sox_away.png" then the corresponding normal map file gets automatically applied.

As far as I know, the normal maps have to be .png files for OOTP to recognize them, but that's really a question for Jorin.
